Spring nuptials of a Ukrainian and Russian couple, fleeing special ops Moskova

Update—after Moscow’s black sea vladship bellied up, a naval pundit quibbed that the now sunken Moscow
Has been promoted to “special” Klass Submarine; or, failing that, as a potential diving hot spot for Ukrainian vacationers, around the artificial reef.

Mértola, Portugal. Milky Way galaxy spans, Mars appears on the far left, while the planets Saturn and Jupiter were also simultaneously visible -- but on the opposite side of the sky, here seen on the far right. Near the top of the image the bright star Vega can be found, while the far-distant and faint Andromeda Galaxy can be seen toward the left, just below Milky Way's arch.

Allgäu Public Observatory in southwestern Bavaria, Germany. As ESO tested the new Wendelstein laser guide star unit by shooting a powerful laser beam into the atmosphere, one of the region’s intense summer thunderstorms was approaching. Martin Kornmesser, visual artist for the ESO outreach department, took time-lapse photographs of the test. With purely coincidental timing, this photograph was snapped just as lightning flashed.

The three stars of Orion's belt stretch across top center, Alnitak, the easternmost (left) of the belt stars is seen next to the more diffuse glow of the Flame Nebula and the dark notch of the famous Horsehead. Easily visible to the naked-eye The Great Nebula of Orion is below the belt stars. The broad and faint arc of Barnard's Loop seems to embrace Orion's brighter stars and nebulae. Near the western horizon toward lower right Orion's bright blue supergiant Rigel just touches the branches of a pine tree.
