So I filed a ticket with W9 and called them but had no response. So, I'm hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot my sr71.
My sr71 reads at 1.72 ohms according to w9's ohm reader. I'm still convinced that it's the white rod that got burnt after disassembling and reassembling a bunch of times. Pics attached.
Can someone please confirm or deny that it's the white rod? At least I can order another rod and get my sr71 up and running. I've iso bathed it a bunch of times already and the black does not wash off.
I just want to find out what's wrong at least..

1.72 on the tester = Perfect.
You just have to run it dry to clean it up.
If its not working then something else is the issue not the rod as the rod reads perfect.
Electrical reading are not set on stone. They can vary a little since electricity can hAve many variables. As far as the sr71 reading above 2.2ohm, this usually indicated a faulty connection. Causing increased resistance reading.

Maybe a bad battery? Have you checked the 18350 individually?Ya I wouldn't be focusing so much on the reading if it wasn't for the fact that my sr71 doesn't fire at 7.4v with batteries, but it does with the core.
But it does fire at 3.7v with 1x 18650.
I'm just caught in this dilemma of... The Herc technically works but I'm scared to use it cause I know some thing is wrong. I know it's the Herc itself and not the persei but I just can't figure out why....

The 2x 18350 fires with the kiss cart and my nitecore charger charged it fine.. Other than that I don't know how to check them. But I do have a set of other batteries coming.
so your herc wont fire? what batteries or i should mean what brand are you using? the ones that came with the Persei?
Yah, the ones that came with the persei.
The herc won't fire with the 2x 18350. It fires with 1x 18650 (aw brand from w9) and the core from 7.0 and 7.4, I've only tried those two settings.
The persei and kiss cart fires fine with everything.
theres your issue, the stock batteries work with the carts not the Hercules. The Hercules requires AW 18350 batteries to work.
It's fine to run it but.. is it even heating up at 3.7v? Unless you have the black rod..
Stacking 2x18650 would make it 7.4v with the SS kit and make it last around 3x longer than 2x 18350, just FYI, if you have the kit.
On a 3.7 kiss gr2 will a 35 amp 18650 wreck the coil? I plan on just running my neglected 18350s but i was wondering if anyone had a definitive answer for me before i couldnt resist doing so.
Sweet, thanks @THC SCIENTIFIC. Would there be a difference in heat up time or final temp?
