Both have to be spring loaded for best connection. U can remove the bottom insulator and screw the stainless steel cylinders directly into the 8 to see if the bottom insulator is causing problems.@THC SCIENTIFIC I just received my 8 and I am also getting misfires and very slow heat up. I noticed that on the bottom adapter of the sr74 only the top gold pin is spring loaded. the bottom pin that actually makes contact with the 8 is not spring loaded. Is that supposed to be like that?
that's definitely the problem. just tried without the insulator and its working good. Dang well that sucksBoth have to be spring loaded for best connection. I purchased a okeanos v2. Came with these o rings you describe. They seal up my okeanos glass nicely. I also purchased a spare glass too. Seals that one nicely too but requires a little bit more tightening. These O rings Are mounted on top and bottom glass. Between the glass and the top/bottom stainless steel bases. The glass does not touch the stainless steel top and bottom bases. The "square " o ring is sandwiched in between.I just got the new Okeanos update kit today and it is huge improvement! My one concern is that in the product description it says it comes with "the new white O-Rings for the Okeanos Glass". Instead I got a little baggie with these orange o-rings that don't seem to work for anything let alone the glass. They are a little too thin to seal the glass. I really needed better o-rings for the bottom part of the Okeanos! Did any one else get these o-rings in their Okeanos update? They aren't even round, a cross section of the rubber would be square.
You probably need to downsize your o rings if your nibbler fits tight enough to wear them out.Hey @THC SCIENTIFIC can you guys consider listing **JUST** the o-rings for each piece (SR71, okeanos, 8) as a separate part listing?
i know my nibbler XL wrecks my o rings
is it safe to run a 3.7v black rod on the sr74 at 7.4v? It heats up way better than the white rod at 7.4v
But the white rod seems to take a veryyyy long time to get to temperature. It barely gets warmNo I don't recommend this. You are pushing the batteries and the device to dangerous levels. The 3.7 black rod is about .6-.8 ohm. At 7.4v this is advised against. The white rod is plenty powerful once you get the hang of it.
yea how do i do that? The white rod should warm up pretty quick. Do you have a voltmeter to measure the resistance of the hercules assembled using the white rod?
