I would have to agree neither is very descrete. I was splitting hairs
Interesting on the heat time. My EO takes longer and the temp is pretty easy to control. At least from the burning oil part.
Agreed on the leaking part, the EO does leak, but not like the SR-71.
Yeah, i mean i do notices some oil residue on the underside of the cartridge near/around the threads of the EO. At first i thought it might be leaking, but the more i use and load it i think it might just be the vapor recondensing? Because i do notice tons of vapor coming out of the body when i try loading it. But again even if it is leaking, its nothing compared to how the hercules can leak.
Good discussion, I think it's worth noting that start up times and tendency to leak in Cera are both very subject to what and how much you have loaded. Battery charge as well, of course. But it's hard to get fast response with large charges of stiff goods.

i dont know if im the odd man out, but it seems the more i load in the cera, the quicker and faster i get vapor production. I did load too much one time and had an issue with clogging, but even then it only took about 8 seconds of preheating to get good vapor production. Usually i only hold the button for 4-5 seconds thou and get huge hits easily.
Agreed. I am using the same stuff on each cart. My EO is normally using my power supply, but it acts the same on battery.
I find I don't need to pulse the Cera, but if you don't pulse the power on the Persei the SR-71 will heat too hot and the vape will be too hot for me. On the Cera I just hit the power, draw, release and only cool down until the vape stops.
i am using the same oil as well. I find if i dont want to be hacking up a lung i either need to pulse the cera or use it with water. Even with water though i need to release the power and kinda back the cera out and back in a few times after releaseing the power.
Back on topic, I found the same results with the hercules sr71 white 7.4V rod. If i just hold the button same taste as cera. If i pulsed it much better results but it takes more work.
Now with the black rod, its impossible to get bad/harsh taste. I just preheat for about 8-10 seconds and then hold the button and go. I do pulse it once when the timer cuts off but besides that just jam the button and go. Great hits and amazing taste! No harshness or scratchy throat afterward either.
Ive kinda given up on the blue rod for now, its just too hard to get the hang with just herbs. But it works really well with herbs and a little bit of oil(no coil or screen). Its nice being able to just throw everything in and not have to worry but i just find the white rod coil and screen work with a little less technique effort. Plus, if i wanna use herbs, its much easier to just pull the black rod out and switch the white rod in and then just have to add a screen, rather than pulling the rod and coil out which can get messy if your not careful. Im hoping and have faith the iris will make the blue rod work better though and can not wait.
While yes, neither unit is as discrete as say... an Ophos, at the very least the Hercules and Persei combo doesn't look like a 2lb white dildo.
I mainly use my EO with the smoothflow mouthpiece now. If anything it gets confused more for an electronic toothbrush now. And in fact ive never had anyone seen it set like this reference it looking like a dildo. And even with the smoothflow it is still shorter than ther persei/hercules. Just saying...
have either of you tried the herc 3.7v rods on the shorty with the 18350 batt? its pen size with the shorty in terms of length and looks pretty discreet. you might want to look into getting the SS kit if you havent got one already (SS stands for super stealth).
i was thinking about getting it, i believe i saw it on planetvape. But stealth really isnt an issue for me at the moment, and id much rather have 2000mah of battery compared to 700mah on the 1-18350
