Yes, but I find dropping a bb on the dual coil at 6V and up is a good way to get a huge load with minimal loss. With the donut on the coils, the oil between the coils and donut heats faster than the top (thermodynamics, rite? Can't be fixed; a rod wick with a coil around it is heated a lot more thoroughly than a donut on top of 2 coils). You have to load a lot between the coils and donut to keep from burning your oil near the wire, if you want the oil on top to melt into the wick; I find that I can often get a large enough rip from just the "bare" coils using short pulses in the 6-8V range.
Sorry this is a bit late, but I've been really enjoying the 3.7v rod. It seems to have helped most leaking problems my wife and I were having learning the herc. If your herc is clean you can also use this rod with dry herb and no coil, it won't combust even with the core at 4.2v IME.
Yeah for sure, just add $10.00 worth of, "misc warranty / repair" under parts and service. Then include in the notes, "1x Hercules SR-71 bottom insulator with O-ring grooves".

Has anyone tried to rebuild a KISS mini cart?
All this talk of the new Kiss carts not working with the Persei has really soured me and I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I don't understand why QC cannot be done, and out of spec carts be rejected by W9 at their facility rather than be sent to a customer. I have one good working top for my Persei. Other top, button that touches battery is totally mashed in. The good one is pretty beat up and the push button is starting to go out. Both tops are V2. They've had a lot of use, and reckon I've got my moneys worth, but I cannot see myself shelling out $65 more for V4 tops since it seems the entire vaporizer is already being phased out for some new model. I have zero desire to buy an 8 because I don't feel like working on my vape all the time like some redneck on his Ford, the way I do with the Hercules. My friend dropped his Persei in the Gulf of Mexico and ended up getting a Vamo V10. Probably where I'm headed.
I did a bunch of testing again and it seems it makes no difference. The 8 does not produce huge clouds. It seems to not get as hot as the Persei. I can move the SR-71 back and forth between the 8 and the Persei and huge clouds quickly with the Persei and just little puffs with the 8. I am pressing down the 8 button very hard as it seems it needs quite a bit of effort.
Button assembly probably needs tinkering.
