I used a tube cutter to trim the Kiss mini. No mothpiece used after this mod. @Nube Scrutator has a detailed post on it if I recall correctly.Did you modify your KISS mini, or use the whole length (without mouthpiece)?

Still curious how you guys got this to work. All I managed to do with the tube cutter I got is squash and totally ruin the Kiss Mini.
You need to use a "stainless steel" tube cutter and leave the mouth piece in while slowly cutting. Stainless steel tube cutters at this size are twice as much as regular ones, around $40.

Yes exactly what the man says. Also start slow. Cut it very slow adjusting the cutter wheel in small increments. It will take a few turns to make a clean cut.You need to use a "stainless steel" tube cutter and leave the mouth piece in place while slowly cutting. I used this tube cutter: http://www.amazon.com/Reed-T10SS-Tubing-Stainless-Capacity/dp/B001H4K8A0/ref=redir_mobile_desktop/175-0031740-2375559?ie=UTF8&dpID=41L0BCZMa5L&dpPl=1&keywords=Reed stainless steel tube cutter&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&qid=1422828694&ref=plSrch&ref_=mp_s_a_1_1&sr=8-1
have been a lot of blinking issues with my v3 top. Maybe it's time to buy the hammer top. Would the blinking issue warrant an upgrade to the v4 upgrade?
I'll have to try reversing the contact screw out on my 8 button assembly and see if I get better results.Big thanks to @SamuraiSam for his pro tips on getting my 8 working. Turns out that it was a matter of too much pressure on the center post when the button was fully pressed. I've really been enjoying the shorty 8 setup with the dual coil globe + Nibb G. Off center logo is kinda goofy though.
Round two at shortening a Kiss Mini for use in the Okeanos was a partial success. Got a clean cut this time with my pipe cutter but can't get the mouthpiece back out hah! @ragnorokk how did you manage this? Did manage to separate the bottom trying. Interesting look at the inside of the Mini.
Ack! Globe down!
Is this right? A new kiss globe is $14.99 and the boro glass replacement is $15.99? (Mine seemed to come with the boro glass already?)
Yeah, this was without the drip-style metal top, but it seemed to be a molded piece rather than blown (though may be hard to tell if it was machined a bit better). If the boro piece shown is different, I wouldn't mind that price at all! (Currently finding some adapters I can cram it into to use as a mouthpiece or into a bubbler.. Seems effective, but doesn't have the grace I liked with that new-style globe piece I had for less than a week...)...
I don't know for sure about the new globes being boro; I got the impression that it's not nessecarily borosilicate, or at least that it's not from the same source. If it is, then I feel like a total winrar, as I bought a handful of globes for me and friends. They aren't all the new style, though; I bought an o-phos style globe for a friend and it's the old type w/ 510 delrin (or something) mouthpiece, whereas the 601 and 510 mod globes I bought came w/ the nice blown glass similar to the replacement.
I notice the boro looks like it gets more use. Is it the straight gauge mouthpiece that has you using it more? For comparison from left to right; original Kiss Globe glass w/ detachable mouth piece, Kiss Globe glass as of my order last month, 'blue' boro replacement glass for Kiss Globe.
