That happened to me but with the Nibbler XL, I removed it from my shopping cart to see the price difference without and now it's sold out. At least I can save some $ for now and try out the herc without it.

No. The Okeanos works with the Kiss platform. That includes the standard 3.6v and 7.4v Kiss carts and also the Kiss Mini if you cut the tube down a bit. Both the Hercules and Kiss Globe are separate and distinct platforms from the standard Kiss.

@THC SCIENTIFIC , Gary, I've been having trouble with my 8 not firing consistently. I passed on the new button assembly, just after 8 release. But now I'd like to try it, cuz fingers hurt from having to REALLY press button.

Very excited for you!! Curious though. Why both the Ophos and Minicron Lite?
I feel like I am in a similar boat but I'm very confident I have the updated button assembly already since I ordered my 8 more recently.
I've tested things with my multimeter and all seems well. However it's just like the 8 isn't firing on all cylinders. All the carts do seem to fire but hits are wispy at best. Maybe I am just not debugging properly.
As another member mentioned a few pages back I can feel the center post give when I mash the button so there certainly is a connection there. The DMM shows the properly voltage too. I'm kinda stumped. This is why I haven't returned my half broke V3 Persei top yet for service.

No good reason really. I have a Dr. Dabber, wanted to get rid of the silica wick. Both were in the cart and couldn't decide which size I liked, we'll call it a backup LOL... VAS

if the top center post you feel move then it could be two issues, not seated perfectly and the top post adjustment nut isnt extended far out enough to make contact with the cart.
Also try firing it without the pcb board see if that helps.

Picked up my V4 top from UPS first thing this morning on my way to work. Very sleek, tube can run 18500s just fine, and fires the herc like a champ! Really having a hard time not being finger-tarded on the touch button, but that will come in time im sure.
Also with the top, i got a rebuild kit for the kiss finally. Will be putting together shortly.

Edit: The preview showed a lower amount than charged, this appears to have been a glitch. Tax was estimated but the Shipping cost was not being calculated when using the Estimate Tax and Shipping button.

So I was originally bone headed and didn't realize to adjust the gold nuts on the top center post. I've made sure they are making good contact with the carts. This is easy to check because if you adjust the nuts up to far the cart will have a gap between it and the top of the 8.
What PCB do you mean exactly? PCB is printed circuit board? You mean the magnetized protection circuit for the battery? I think that is the only PCB in the 8 since it is a mech mod right. Is it safe to remove that even for a test?
first test with it, then just do a quick test without it.

Order 22110. I figured out the issue - my Shopping Cart screenshot shows less than charged because the website calculated Tax but did not calculate Shipping when using the Estimate Shipping & Tax button. After trying a few more times it updated and made up the difference in price. Of course I'm willing to pay shipping and am very grateful for the sale, I just wanted to bring it to your attention in case of a possible glitch to avoid confusion.

Grabbed 2 each of the new stuff and some boro globe glass (which I just realized I didn't use the damn 10% off w9tech code on after the binary code didn't work). So when the 35% off code works I can get a persei for $80 and an 8 for $100? Tempted by both, just struggling with whether I want to wait for the v4 top.

Will try this in a few and post my results.
This is a tough one. I have a V3 and before I broke it (so glad the V4 has a floating center pin!) it worked like a champ. I haven't experienced any issues with my V3 firing any carts and I own them all except the SR71. That being said I have a few friends that want a Persei and it is hard to recommend they buy now when we all know V4 is just around the corner.
The 8 from a manufacturing standpoint is totally worth it. Amazing build quality and conceptually I love the fact that it is 100% rebuildable and user servicable. However as you can read above I have struggled personally to get results. I am still at the point from I consider that user error though and I am committed to mastering the 8.
