Low powered batteries shouldn't cause problems besides low performance... What kills tops, is applying power to a shorted circuit. Shorts are caused by an incorrectly assembled Hercules cartridge, or an improperly rebuilt cartridge, or unfortunately occasionally caused by having the cart screwed too tightly into the Persei top. How tight did you have yours screwed in? I killed one of my V1 single tops by having a perfectly assembled Herc screwed too tightly into it

Due to my research here I was very careful to test the herc for shorts each time I loaded it and I definitely didn't have it on too tight. I stopped as soon as I felt resistance. FWIW the herc itself still tests fine.

The AW 18350's most of as are familiar with, the ones I linked, are a 700mAh (2.6 watthours) battery. I just happened to poke over to RTD Vapor since they carry a lot of batteries and found a "NEW" series of "black-striped" AW's. They seem to have a slightly higher milliAmp hour rating: the "New 18350" are labeled 800mAh & 3.0Wh, and they have double the "max continuous discharge rate" at 12 Amperes! Whoa!

They have a new 18650 rated to 2200 mAh and 20A discharge too.

The ticket system is rather slow anyways, but sometimes it's good to have things in writing. I would suggest creating a ticket (found on the contact us page), and calling in tomorrow. When you call, request that they respond to your ticket. That way you can state your problem & get a clear answer in writing.

Also the top issue people are having is fixed in the new Touch Button versions.

Simply put these new Persei tops are specifically built for the Persei running the kiss cartridges and Hercules.

No I'm not going to claim they are 100% but they are two steps ahead of the vx versions.

Through time we will perfect it but it is the best we can offer atm.


Now moving on some great news. While we prioritize our R&D and what to put out next there are a few projects that have hit snags.


But our next release is going to be the Kiss Alpha C.

Many have guessed in what it is but have been wrong.

Just a heads up the Kiss Alpha C has no equal, it is simply light years ahead of anything out there.

Just wait and see.

While its only been 1 day, I think I have the sr74(x) technique down. Not using an airflow ring. Cools down much quicker. But I am doing long, cool down hits, and no oil is getting in the second chamber. And every little thing on the herc is easy to maintain and clean. I don't even use my kiss globes anymore. Use the ti gr2 kiss carts for on the go, and the herc at home. I can see how quickly one can go through oil with the herc haha, but can also be just as conservative if you want.

I would get the ohm and volt tester, and extra batteries if you need them. From what I can tell, the coils last a long time, but I got an extra in addition to the 2 that come with it. Pick up some iso alcohol to keep around if you don't have any already. Otherwise I'd say your good!

They have have it all, the new AW batteries too (just look for the black strip on them).
Prices are the best there too, if only by a few $.
edit: turns out lighthound is sold out of the new AWs (thanks to lockie for noticing that), either wait or buy from some vapor related store then

For the 18650 AW makes these, I guess that would be the best 3.7V battery to get, well they say 3.6, don't know if that matters. I have this one (says 3.7 on that one) and it works great with herc, globe and kiss. Some self-declared expert is welcome to clarify on these

I prefer the 3.7v for kiss carts. Real smooth, great flavor, but still decent sized hits. I found the 7.4v harder to control. Always ended up burning the oil or wick.

I have a brand new Persei recieved in late November that I can barely get to fire-it just blinks at me constantly no matter how loose or tight I have the cart screwed on. I have an another Persei that fires just fine from a couple months ago using the same two SR-71s. The problem follows the new Persei's cap. I have an open ticket but support is very slow to respond. I am trying to get this taken care of.
