mighty dosing capsules? any good? help on how to get best vapor production please thank you guys
This thread can be intimidating, at 478 pages (though I've read them all). Using the search box (at the top of the page) can be helpful.

I just typed in "dosing caps" and checked the box "this thread only" and brought up 8 pages. I suppose searches for "dosing capsule" or other variations would also produce results -- probably more and more variety of information than the couple of answers you may get to your current question.

My quick answer is yes, dosing caps are very good.

(It's great that this knowledge base is all saved into indefinite future. We're all asked specifically to not be too repetitive. I apologize if my reply may seem a bit condescending)

In a nutshell: The dosing caps are much cleaner than loose herb in the vaporizer and during loading; loading is much quicker and simpler; infinitely easier to empty and load on the go, particularly during outdoor activities; and inexpensive to try or use daily. Also fantastic for pre-making sandwiches with kief or whatever. After going through my 20 or so caps--a week and a half's worth--I empty them all and see that there is near perfect extraction. You can carry a day's worth(or more) in one of the little scent-proof caddies or a party's worth in the magazine. In my Crafty I've been using nothing but the caps since I bought it in November(the election gave me a serious headache!:brow:) and now I'm addicted. I suspect that we will see every vape manufacturer have some sort of similar dosing caps. I recently bought a Fury 2...only because they promised dosing caps hopefully by the end of this very month.

I like that. I think I am going to look into a padded camera case.

I have this to use for transport to my poker game. It has two levels so I can take a few things. I'd like to be able to take a bong too.

During the late Sixties there was a craze of smoking banana peel. There were even commercial, albeit small time, producers of dried peel, which you could buy at the early head shops to roll in a j or smoke from a pipe. Not having reliable sources of dope, many of us tried banana peel, along with a dozen other things like cough syrup, when our herb sources couldn't be found or we didn't have the money. Donovan's big hit Mellow Yellow, also the name of his hit album, supposedly was about smoking banana peel, "electrical banana". Haven't tried it in my vape, but....

Does anyone find water vaping the Mighty disappointing? By that, I mean to ask, are you losing a lot of the visible vapor (and presumably) getting less high as a result? I've been water vaping on and off for months, but keep going back to dry vaping because my weed seems to go further. When dry vaping, I blow much bigger clouds and feel more stoned. Is this normal? Do water bongs simply absorb a big % of the vapor, leaving less for our lungs?

I'm confused. What's going on here?

I'm still new, only had the Mighty for a couple months. My experience so far with that has been this:

I am using a full dosing capsule for both of these. I use the 14mm and 18mm glass adapter from PuffITUp.

F-Bomb Water 18mm Tool - This one seems like it takes 4 or 5 drags to get going. After that it will give me about 15 mostly wispy to light hits. This is more hits that the CU will give. So lots of hits but not as thick a cloud as just using the CU. Does get me high. I'd rather use the CU.

TAG - 9" Super Slit UFO Sherlock Bubbler - This is a cheap small bong, maybe 8 inches tall. The thing works great with the Mighty. I get 15-23 hits. From the start to about hit 10-12 is a nice chest filling hit. It can make you cough. It does not get milky like a combusted bowl, definitely lighter. The cloud I blow out seems bigger than what it looked like going in. This is a satisfying piece to use with my Mighty, makes it Mightier. I use it with company because it hits nice and a dosing capsule lasts twice as long as it does without the bong. This definitely gets me high.

With the CU I have been vaping at 365-385. With the water tools I take it up to 400.

There’s a lot of variables depending on the particular glass piece, including the type of perc and volume of water. You absolutely lose some of the actives to water. I personally have not found it to be an issue, though.

What type of glass are you using?

I have a OG vapecase and like it, mind you I don’t have the fancy white version  . I found that mine smelled of the lining material and I could definitely taste the lining material when vaping. I removed the lining and washed it with soap and water numerous times which removed the smell and taste, before this I tried air/sun but it still stunk. Hope this helps:2c::sherlock:

Curious. With water vaping I'm definitely blowing smaller clouds and getting less high on the same amount of weed. But with that said, I wish there were a way I could be more scientific about this.

That’s a pretty standard piece of glass for vaping. I have something very similar, if not the same piece, and it works well for vaping.

With the Mighty and water, I can get bigger hits and blow bigger clouds. I just finish the bowl faster. I also get just as high, and even an initial punch higher due to consuming a bowl faster.

I’m just trying to help brainstorm what might be causing your problem. What are you using to connect to the glass piece? Maybe there’s some air leakage?

vapviking

Old & In the Way
Yeah I was getting far fewer hits from a capsule at higher temp thru water than native/lower temp. Like, 6 or 8. But they are very heavy, effective hits.
@Boxman , what adapter are you using to connect Mighty to your glass? I trust you are eliminating the c/u from the loop when using glass.

Oh my...I forgot about my us trying them in my teenage years. LOL Didn't do squat but I guess our potassium levels were good from eating all of the bananas. haha

Hi, I’m new to the forums, love to all of the regulars in here sharing all of your information and insight it is appreciated.

So I just purchased a new mighty vaporiser from

www.shivaonline.co.uk which is an official UK distributor of storz & bickel products, I found them on the main websites store locator.

https://www.storz-bickel.com/eu/en/storelocator/

I have been reading the forums and researching elsewhere and found out that during late 2017 a new updated mighty model was released with a few changes including an extra 20% battery life upgrade, when I recieved my order today I checked the production date on the end of the box and it reads 05-2017, right around the time when all of the confusion was going on about a release of a new mighty model update, this mighty I recieved must be old stock because the production date is 10 months old, is that normal to buy a new product from storz & bickel and get nearly a year old device?

The box is the new white and blue box but is missing the infamous 20+ extra battery life sticker, was this sticker just marketing or are all of the white and blue box mightys containing the better battery life updated model? I couldn’t find clarity or an answer on this searching through through the thread.

Is this the latest version of the mighty with the 20% extra battery life?

The box also came quite dirty and marked up, do you guys think I should maybe return it and request a refund, then purchase another one elsewhere? (Prehaps maybe even get an Easter discount elsewhere if I’m lucky)

If so where is a trusted vendor of the new updated mighty model within the United Kingdom for a good price and with a potentially newer production date, excellent forum and community going on here I will take the time to study the old pages and see what nuggets of gold insight I can find.

Thank you for your time and help.

@Homefoodhealth Assuming your warranty starts from the date of purchase, this may actually be a good thing. If the unit malfunctions or fails you can get a warranty replacement through S&B easy. My experience has only been direct purchases through S&B US, but they always took care of me with my Crafty (i.e. brand new unit replacements if necessary).

So long as the unit is brand new, I wouldn't see a reason to return it. The Mighty got it's reputation on the initial release and you're several updates since which is still a prime performer. You could contact S&B and see if they would update your unit for you. :2c:

Regarding your question about buying and getting an older unit.....

If you bought from a 3rd party vendor, it's whatever they had in stock. The more they sell, the newer the unit. Direct from S/B, I've not heard of anyone getting a noticeably older unit.

I'm with @psychonaut on what you got. And I also believe that the increased battery life is a function of the newer algorithm as well as the battery. I've noticed much larger swings in temp when hitting it.

These are little things, you're going to love it !

Not all of them have the 20% extra battery life stickers on them , this was confirmed by puffitup for me when i had gotten mine so no worries. It was on a # of them but after a few shipments they started receiving units without the stickers. Maybe S&B just ran out or got lazy.

I did a lot of research on the Mighty, the latest model date available is 08/2017 which in fact comes with the %20 sticker
I had an issue with my first mighty which was produced in 05/17 but got a replacement from them with the new date

Hi, yes this was my exact concern, for peace of mind I think I will return it, does anyone know of another trusted vendor within the United Kingdom that is selling the latest mighty 08/2017 20% models or is my best option to go and purchase straight from S&B direct.

https://www.storz-bickel.com/eu/en/store/my.html

I haven’t smoked in years and want this purchase to be 100% right.

Has anyone bought the
Filling Set for 40 Dosing Capsules?

Link: https://www.storz-bickel.com/eu/en/store/acc/filling-set-for-40-dosing-capsules.html

What’s your experience and thoughts with it?

Or would I be better off buying the
Magazine with 8 Dosing Capsules
And the
Magazine with 8 Dosing Capsules for Liquids (for micro dosing)

I was interested to know from the experienced users on which would be the best to buy for someone who will be using the dosing capsules exclusively, Ive read that the dosing capsules for liquids are good for micro dosing, which I think I will need to do for a little while until I build up my tolerance level up and also to avoid wasting flowers.

How many dosing capsules is needed realistically 20? For rotation, filling, spares and travel. Interested to hear from more seasoned users.

Edit: Thank you for everyone’s input and help in clarifying the latest mighty models production date confusion.
