The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

Seeking My Shangri-La
Here's the information on the updated Mighty directly from Jake at puffitup.com:

"
Hey hey Tony! The newest Mightys have an increased auto-shutoff timer and a boost mode that can be activated by pressing the power button twice in a row. The boost mode kicks the temperature up a set amount which is completely user adjustable. Outside of those two changes we have also heard user reports of improved battery life and the body being made of a harder plastic compared to the previous generation though we do not have official confirmation on those changes. I hope that info helps and if you're curious about anything else feel free to ask! QUOTE].

Thank you for this, @DopeyJ. I would have liked the upgrades, but not a game changer for me. Appreciate the info. Happy long weekend.

EDIT: Unless I'm mistaken, the 'boost mode' was integrated a while ago. It's mentioned several pages back... And I thought the auto turn off was increased to 2 minutes a while ago as well. Not certain about this, however.

Team NO SLEEP!
I am sure it has been discussed exhaustedly over the last 430 pages, but was hoping some one could post [or repost] a comparison of the Mighty Vs Plenty, and also a comparison of the Mighty Vs MiniVap.

I had the Plenty for years, so it is a benchmark for me in terms of vapor quality.
I have also had the MiniVap for some time now, and am looking to replace it with something with a better form factor (pocketable).

Ideally I am looking for something that hits like a train and has minimal draw resistance. My MiniVap is awesome, just big for travels.

miniVAP vs Mighty:
I have both and both are great vapes. I almost always use my miniVAP as I'm a flavor chaser and efficiency chaser.
Not in a legal state so very rarely vape away from home. IF I was able to vape out and about, a top top choice would be the Mighty.
The miniVAP is just a little chunky with the battery pack, OK if you have a murse or backpack/ bringing to a buddies house to vape, but for a pure portable it's not there yet. I had suggested a battery that's 1/3 of current to greatly bring down the weight and size as current battery is big big (the + is best battery life out there). A 1/3 size would still supply long sessions.

I do love the Mighty temp readout and quick ramp up to temp. The Mighty gives a very very smooth, very easy to toke vapor but it's taste is nowhere near that of the miniVAP. Mighty tastes kind of flat/ neutralized/ not lively flavor vs the miniVAP. Note that I have never found a vape as true tasting as my Teflon core miniVAP. Mighty is not as "herb efficent" either.
You can't make a mistake with the Mighty as any grind or no grind, low temp or high temp, it just kicks it out. IMO, it is a top 10 or maybe even top 5 contender.

I find the miniVAP Flexicone modules to be much better for my wants VS the Mighty dosing capsules.
I'm working on ways to use Flexicones with the Mighty as they would also make the vape more "convection" VS
the stock chamber or the capsules.

I'd love to see a hybrid cross of the Mighty and miniVAP as they both are top top tier.

And if you don't? That wasn't very helpful...

I haven't seen anything that made me think I need to replace mine (although vapcap works better for hard hash). maybe I should've written "from everything I've read, the mighty's as good as you can get for now - an opinion the vape critic shares, whatever you think of him."

there are a lot of people posting on this site that have enormous collections of vapes; their reports can be super-useful, especially if they're good at explaining why they prefer one vape over another, but, like him or not, the vape critic has probably tried more vapes than anyone on the planet - and, until now, the mighty had his highest score. if the MV1 ends up having issues (like the crafty), vape critic might lower the MV1's score, putting mighty back on top.

some one could post [or repost] a comparison of the Mighty Vs Plenty

I seem to recall someone not too far back saying the plenty and mighty were very similar.

Here's my opinion on Mighty vs Plenty: the Mighty passes the "reach test" ( TM @Vitolo )
Faster warm up to temp, once at temp it's fairly stable, I believe Mighty has higher upper temp, keeps up with long draws, open draw for a portable, no annoying cord, easier to stash away quickly, easier to use, control and hold, I can taste flavors better with Mighty -- but the Plenty floods you with more volume offering that knock upside the head, cooler too, adding to its sneaky and powerful draws. I finish capsule in half the session time with Plenty, figure the increased flow volume is reason. No worry about charging with Plenty, no real worry about it failing, given its almost retro electro-mechanical design.

Always a new contender around the corner, but most don't stand a ghost of a chance against the Mighty

Hi I have a question about he temp readout on the mighty? Mine has from time to time started to skip a degree when I'm using it and then go up by two the next time. It's not all the time or on specific temps either more just randomly. Is this problem anyone else gets or is it just a normal thing that can happen as there has been no noticeable change in performance. I have a video of the problem to better show you guys.

I just lay my Mighty down on the back.

If you buy capsule dosing pads... look at the price diff between the magazine caddy, keychain and pads solo. The mag caddy you get double the pads, caps and a caddy for only 25% more.

I own all three the devices amongst 17 other.
I used the minivap as my main vaporizer for years. I appreciated its flavor but the Mighty is way better for me. The capsule system is way better than the flexicone. It enables you to bring preloaded doses to vape outside. If you'll use the capsules you'll never have to clean the Mighty's bowl. And of course you will not miss Minivap's draw restriction. I also have the Plenty which I have bought only recently, after both the Minivap and Mighty. I like it better than the Minivap for sure. I heard that Minivap's owner George is a former S&B engineer that left the company a few years ago and produced a vaporizer on its own. I cannot prove if this is true but I can see a lot of similarities between Minivap and Plenty, which was Storz's last vape at the time Minivap came out.
I bought a Plenty to have a corded Mighty and not to rely to much on a battery but I still reach the Mighty sooner.

I'm curious why you like the dosing capsules better? For me, it's not even close as I much prefer the Flexicone modules.
For me the dosing capsules are twice as difficult to fill, the Flexicones can be filled in 3 seconds.
The metal dosing capsules stay "hotter than fuck" while the Flexicones cool quickly with a couple breathes thru them.
The Flexis stay firmly closed while the capsules can be tough to open yet sometimes open when you least expect it :)
The dosing capsules add more conduction while the Flexis make the mix more convection dominant.
Both flexis and capsules keep the chamber clean.
Flexis allow you to use Mighty direct with a bubbler, no CU, Flexi sits in bubbler and you invert bare Mighty unto it---you can't get a more direct bubbler connection.

The Flexis are eazy peazy to add a hemp fiber filter to keep ABV dust from going along with airflow.
Both are an improvement over bare chamber.

Please let us know why capsules work better for you/ how they fit your wants/needs better. Thanks

One reason is I've never had to clean a SB capsule, While Minivap's flexi-cones had to be brushed a bit, moreover the silicone parts, like the upper part of the flexicone, has to be substituted after some months of use. Mighty 's CU can be washed clean doesn't discolor. I feel safer with Mighty and Volcano, which I use the most. Capsules fit 4 of my vaporizers, be those home or outdoor units. This is another great reason I like capsules. I can store SB capsules inside magazines or keychains. Not the same with flexis. SB accessories, especially capsules have affordable prices, not at all Minivap's loading units or accessories in general. If I felt the flavor was worth it I'd use (and consequently "love") more the Minivap than SB vaporizers but I don't. I was sort of a Minivap early adopter but after getting a Crafty after years of Minivap use I ended up getting every S&B vaporizer. Even the Evo is getting dust. Volcano is just easier, tastier than anything else and breakage free. Mighty gets really close and at my place gets bed and outdoor use. Plenty gets in rotation sometimes. Minivap has a lot of draw resistance compared to almost none of Plenty and Mighty. Minivap was the first great electronic, dependable home/portable with also a great battery. I partially blame for my dislike my MV unit having been updated twice and losing flavor instead of getting anything better than the first model teflon core, other than the reduced heating times. This was my experience, and now I don't feel like recommending (or getting) a Minivap unit while there are Mightys for cheaper.

Hi has anyone seen this problem? I was going to send my unit back to S&B so they can evaluate the problem, but I don't know if it's that serious, if anyone could lmk if what's happening is normal it would be a huge help

............................................................
so are you talking about it skipping a degree as it goes up to temp?

Where it reads, for example, 310, 3111, 313??
That's not a problem as it is just moving thru the temps and happens to move up quick enough where it skips a digit.

Or are you talking about something different??? Please clarify the issue

No, if your Mighty ever gets up to 3111 degrees, it's a problem!

@ajvapegod

Seriously, if you mean you're not adjusting the temp (pushing buttons) and the unit is getting up to your set temp, and it's skipping numbers, that's normal. That is just the unit heating faster than it reads it, that's good, your batteries are fine!

If you mean your pressing the up or down temp button and it's jumping more than one degree at a time, I don't consider that normal. But I only half watch
