For the MUZZMOD experts! I need to buy the JB weld epoxy....do i go with the regular that says:
Super strong, non-toxic, and temperature resistant up to 600°F
OR, do I go with the JB weld HIGH HEAT putty stick?
Able to withstand continuous heat up to 450°F, and intermittent heat up to 500°?
Confusing...
The epoxy goes on the OUTSIDE of the adapter, so the temperature never gets all that high. That is, you're not using it on the surface between the glass adapter and the CU base like you would with glue. Otherwise, some could leak into the vapor path. You're placing the epoxy on the outside, sort of filling in the gap between the tapered edge and the CU base, using the epoxy to functionally turn the two separate objects into one piece.
I may not have said that well enough, but the approach is actually just a little different than face-to-face gluing, so going for the highest-possible temperature tolerance isn't really relevant. Either of these will do.
That leaves the question as, mixing tubes of gooey liquid, or using a premixed putty? I like the idea of a putty stick because it's so clean, but I'm not sure if it would be too stiff to work into a small space. There's not much room for overflow, because the CU base still has to be able to twist between the tiny tabs to be attached to the vape. I was a little too messy with mine the first time, and wound up having to sand down where I hadn't cleaned up the still-liquid epoxy well enough to twist the mod smoothly into place.
Hence my being intrigued by the idea of a putty stick that was less messy...assuming that it could fit...which I'm not sure that it would...?
