So when using WITHOUT the stem (going native), do you still micro hit or just long slow draw?
When I hit native I still use the micro-hit technique but a bit slower with longer draws.

Yes, the wrapping is off. Yes, the battery is full. No, its not rechargeable. No, no vapor was coming out. Yes, I am pushing as hard as I can.

You shouldn't use the box with non-rechargeables. They are very different. But they have some voltage, so the light should turn on. I think they have 1.5V and that's a bit more than fully charged NiMH. So the light should shine bright if they don't have huge voltage drop on 20 watts. Duracells have goo under wrapping, did you clean that too?

I tried out the slow draw method and I like it a lot more, the clouds are pretty big and I dont cough as much. :)

Are you using batteries or the wall adapter? Or is it PA? Where on earth do you buy them?

Seek, you should know better :p

Alkaline batteries won't work at all. The sides of alkalines are positive charge. NiMH batteries only work because their sides are negative charge, completing the circuit.

Joint_Specialist: Thanks, that makes much more sense. I've never tried using alcaline in MFLB nor peeling them off.

Alkaline

Maybe when inserted positive end out it could deliver energy, but there is a huge risk of shorting it if the positive electrode touches the 'rail for positive NiMH'. Also these are not for 20 Amps! Even at 1 Amp, they're perform very poorly.

So if non-rechargeable is put to box positive end first, nothing happens, and negative end kills the battery.

Saturday night about 8pm I received an unexpected phone call from Magic-Flight. It was surprising to hear from anybody that late and on a weekend. I thought it would be Monday before talking to anyone. My anxious warranty forum post was spotted. Julie expressed that they understood my frustrations and truly care about their customers. Julie's call really made me feel great about Magic-Flight! Awesome service!

I am really excited to have the situation resolved soon. The launch box is my favorite and most used vaporizer due to stealth and portability.

At first I thought it was a magic fight lunch box, but I was wrong. A magic flight launch box does way more then a magic fight lunch box. Unless you get in a fight with a silly boyfriend or knuckhead girlfriend. Cuz with a magic fight lunch box , you can bust them upside the head if they ruin your magic flight launch box. :)

So has magic flight made a final decision on the warranty with the power adapter? Does it transfer to a second owner?

I will fire them an email, unless there has been something posted that I missed.

A question for all you MFLB users out there. Do any of you treat your boxes with wax, polish, underbutter etc. And if anyone has tried a few different types, which was the best - or should I just leave it raw?

Johnson's Paste Wax for me. Like grandma used on the kitchen floor. Clear, stable, hard as nails, long lasting. Several thin coats and you're ready for the real world.

Great stuff.

@OF. Where do you wax? ( To those who thunk it NO! I'm not interested in armpits etc! ) Is it just the sides and bottom or do you do the top, under the perspex as well? Does waxing affect the taste at all? ANd how often?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to treat my LB right and make it last with a little TLC.

Hardest area to do, and most important, is around the exhaust hole. Where your mouth is. Then probably the bottom, sides and back end in that order. Yes, a couple of coats under the top, but least of all there.

The key is high carnauba and other hard wax content. This means solvents that boil off leaving a thin coat. All the solvent leaves quickly if the coat is thin. Several thin layers get like glass. Not candle like at all. Once done, no need to mess with it further until it gets all scratched up in which case another coat or two and you're good for more rough play.

I read that coconut oil is good as well (the oil can also be used when making edibles because it has a high fat content).

Extra virgin olive oil can go rancid, apparently.
Despite this, I have used it previously to on my maple chopping board without problems.

For the MFLB, I just use normal olive oil.
First I clean around the box with Iso.
I use the brush I got in the MFLB package.

After the box is cleaned all over, I set it aside to dry (about an hour or more, so all the moisture evaporates).
Then I apply the oil, again with the same brush (after rinsing the brush in warm water).
I move the perspex round so I oil all of the top side.

I use the MFLB natively, so I make sure to clean and oil the mouth part well.
Then the box is left to stand on top of bottle until it dries.
This can be all day.
After that, lightly wipe off the excess with tissue, and you're good to go.

The oil is really to guard against moisture and stains.
Not scratches.
But since it's so small, I think scratches aren't a problem as long as it vapes!

Thanks guys for the input. Hmm, Vitolo, that link doesn't work...but I found it here.

I guess it's time to go get something oily and start rubbing up against my box. (bloomin 'ell that sounds wrong!) ... Ok, try again. Time to get some wax and start rubbing wood (erm, that ones not much better!) ... well you get the idea - me, my MFLB, a pot of wax, a cloth and a little bit of care and attention :)

I am going through the same type of situation ash, I got a replacement box about a month ago that developed a screen tear. While looking for an envelope to send it to them, I ran across my original box all wrapped up to be sent in a drawer.:o I email MF and told them what was going on, they said just send them both back together with a note. I did so, and the boxes were delivered early this week. I called MF on monday and left a message with my name and #. They called me late monday afternoon to schedule a time to call me the following day. I told them 11 am EST would be fine. I have not yet heard back from them, and have left a few more voicemails. I am far from losing faith though. It sounded like the call scheduling was a new thing to whomever was calling me, i would wager that there are some bugs to be worked out of this process. They will get in touch with us, and when they do we will be again reminded what excellent customer service they provide... just my :2c:

Ash, glad you got your issue taken care of! Now if MF would only contact me back... They called me and scheduled a call on 1-31 and haven't heard a peep yet

lol, of course I spoke to soon. MF just called me and reassured me that they did in fact receive my boxes and have already shipped me out a replacement. Open mouth, insert foot Matt... They are a small company and are working as quickly as they possibly can to meet demand of a growing customer base. Once I told them that I was worried about going on a valentines getaway and being without the LB, they offered to go find the tracking information and text me with it. Julie (the person that called me) even gave me her cell # to use in case I have another issue in the future. These folks are the absolute epitome of customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
