Soo JedHI's, my Bocote has been shipped today and I am so stoked to go back to HIschool and learn the tricks of the JedHI masters. A 4 month wait isn't bad at all and after watching some of these HI videos, it definitely looks like it will have been worth it. I can't wait to get that special email from Allen...hope you enjoy yours man.

Instead of the "quickening" we'll experience the "bakening." We all wield HIs instead of swords.
And we're all immortal, silently moving through the centuries (extremely high the whole time), struggling to reach "The Gathering," when the few who remain (awake) battle to the last bubbler rip.
The last one awake receives "The Prize": A gorgeous, exotic HI and shit ton of roasting material.

Well, I can't enjoy it thru my brHIde to be... but I've been ripping off a trench of Blue Dream all day. I'm good to go. Going to get in some grow room work tonight (basically start clearing it out and fixing it, after a very rapid ugly tear-down

Got a nice ready to flower Purple Kush plant yesterday, grabbed 5 quick clones off it, threw it into flower... already wrapping itself up around to form the bud. I've never grown/seen Purple Kush (except for the clones I lost in the Great Rapid Clean-out/Destruction of My Grow Room 2012)... but it looks to me, like beer can sized buds are destined for it. Its a trip, up against my Strawberry Cough, which is just like branch after branch of flowers, stem to tip.

I shot a quick photo before I hooked it up to my variable PSU just to show it off to you guys. More will follow, but I'm to eager to test-drive it right now
Here it is in between my Blue Mahoe twig and my little Ash bullet (rip), don't mind my nosy cat's tail pls:
I thought my BM twig was small already, but ET (Evil Twin) is even tinier as everyone can see. When I first accepted the package from the mailman I thought it was something else, as I didn't see how the box was big enough to fit a log vape
The wood looks beautiful, really odd how it seems to change depending on how the light hits it.
I've only took 3 hits so far, but the taste seems really pure. I have to get a little used to the fact that there's nothing to stop the stem at a certain point when you mate it with the HI though, I'm used to inserting the stem till it doesn't go any further from the Underdogs.
It also seems to run really hot, especially considering mine came with a core with a 22ohm resistance and I'm using it on just a mere 11,5V right now. But I haven't even finished my first bowl yet, so I'll have to await the final ABV color before I can be sure about it's performance at this particular voltage.
I love the GonG stem btw, even though I would have liked it to fit the heater port just a little tighter. I am amazed at the density of the vapor I'm getting inspite of the amount of false cool air that can get in via the gap between the stem and heater port.
That's about all I've got right now, back to testing. I'm gonna play with my nipples now

It seems very similar, perhaps a little freer even, if that's possible. The UD's airflow is very unrestricted as well.
I am noticing ET is getting very hot at the top after being on for a good hour or so, a little uncomfortable to hold even. I think I'm going to turn the power down in between bowls to manage that a bit.
I also noticed it feels like a spring is moving in there when I hold the HI at the bottom between two fingers, and then tap it at the top with my other hand. Like the metal core is resonating in there really fast from the tapping. Do all HIs do this?

The stem on the bottom is my modded UD stem mated with Alan's nipple (lol). I know I know, it needs a cleaning.
I have one of Alan glass stems to use it with as well, but the glass UD stem is quit a bit thicker so I feel a little more comfortable sticking that in to my Ehle's downstem then the one that came with the nipple. I'm surprised how much material fits in it btw. About two UD bowls the way I have my screens set up in my UD stems. So far I think I like the metal nipple better, but again, more testing needs to be done first
edit: I almost forgot, but to anyone that's interested in combining Alan's stems with a UD:
The SS nipple doesn't fit my UD, the inner diameter of the BM twig (the latest version at this moment, it's the first model with the insulated heater core) is less than that of the HI. The glass nipple also doesn't mate very well with the UD's heater port because of this, however Alan's GonG stem functions very similar with the HI and UD.

it looks like your using the ss tips correctly. i've switched over to the glass tip since i don't lose too much heat in the ss tip themselves.

OhTheAgony - Glad ET arrived safely. He looks happy in the picture. I was able to ship it cheaper using the smaller box since I did not send a power supply.
The SS nipple could actually be used from either end depending upon the size of the bowl you want to use. The screen is located in the coupling in the middle of the two tubes. The silicone will slide farther down into the glass if you use a drop of water. The glass nipple should always be the last thing you take out of the silicone and always use water. It should slide very easily.
The springy sound you hear is the core itself. It rings like a bell before inserting into the HI. If you hold your finger on the center tube (when cold) and tap it, there is no ringing sound. I'm not sure if the non-integral cores ring as much.
The portion around the core can get hot to the touch which is why I always grab it from the bottom. I am usually going to be flipping it upside down anyhow. When I do grab the wood around the core, it is for soothing my sore hands and the heat feels very good. My hands are able to keep up with the rate at which the heat is being conducted to the wood.

I already moved he silicon seal to the other side before I started using the SS nipple. It's still a bit early for me to start with the larger bowls, but the double functionality will come in handy soon I'm sure. I really love this nipple already man, I'm gonna have to order some spares soon. I still get 4 to 5 good bong hits even from the smaller set up, and the taste is just awesome! I can usually taste it when SS is used, but I haven't noticed that distinctive metal taste so far yet for some reason. I also really like the conservative size of it, being a greedy Dutchman and all

Wow guys, if you think evil twin had an interesting grain that looked like something in it, you have to checkout this Bocote I named Jeb-HI that I just received. I have translated it to mean Great War. If you look closely you can see a battle between man and an alien race separated by fire in half of the wood grain. I will have to take closer pictures later to capture it's true detail, it is incredible or maybe I am just in fucking outer space right now
