I think your stems may have been faulty. Here is a video of my Hammer lock on stems, no black magic, just shitty video filmed in vertical orientation.

Thanks for the help Payton, some options to think about for sure as I certainly don't want to retire the hammer!!

Vapehunter! Thank you very much I now have no doubt that these stems were faulty! If I got them on as tight as a could and with the hammer held vertical and the stem horizontal it's about 2-10 seconds before the thing just fell off with no touching. And when opening your mouth you'd have to hold the stem as even that sight movement would dislodge it. I doubt I'll have much luck with hammer warranty wise, but I'll certainly be looking into some new/better stems!

Also, is UD 100% against overseas sales? I understand with the units as they are 110v

Ed can make a wooden stem.

I wouldn't count on that. I have been trying to get one of his hammer stems for over 6 months, no dice.

He made a very limited number of them once and has not made them since. I feel I will never be able to get one.

I'm guessing that you're only watching his website? He does one-off custom jobs often; just shoot him a PM to inquire. He just shared a photo of this custom Bog Oak hammer stem in his thread the other day:

I have emailed him directly asking about getting a hammer stem a couple times, the most recent being just about a month ago. I was always just told they weren't being made at this time and to check the site in a couple of months.

I'm well aware of his thread and the ability to ask for custom items, but it was kind of pointless to ask there when I was already told that hammer stems weren't being made.

It's nice to hear that they are coming back though.

Ed has been very busy with his site and his kids and his recent health issues..I have also been inquiring about one..he had a blood wood one laying around and I bought that a few months back. It's is wonderful but it fits a little less tight that my hammer stems (which I bought 4 of them on the 4/20 sale and they all lock on like a charm..no issues whatsoever. But with ed he is only one dude and your pieces will get made you just gotta stay with him..but his stem is way better than the lock on stems..imo..just better overall..

I have the same problems with the lock on stems
They can lock on when all is clean but as soon as i do a dab they just fall off
Still getting used to it, think I might be doing too big a dab and it runs through and oils it all up

Also apparently the logs can work on Aussie power too! To great stuff. Going to order a few UD stems for the hammer, will let y'all know if that fixes the problem. Might also order some thinker silicone tubing to help hold in place! After watching vape hunters video I want that sort of sturdy hammer and stem in my life!

Is anybody able to give a comparison of the vapour quality of the Hammer versus the Arizer Air? I know very little about this vape and have only just started researching after seeing the price drop at my favourite online vape store. I was saving for a desktop but it gets really cold here in winter and vaping outside is a struggle (particularly in the hills), the Hammer Pro seems like the perfect solution and almost too good to be true if the vapour is as punchy as I've read!

i use both as daily drivers. The air is great for session and if your on the move, the hammer is just that fast and punch! Just more for sitting imo

So I got mflb tubing for my hammer and UD stems (direct draw and 14mm short) and it doesn't fit as well as I thought it would. I mean it works, but Im not confident to bring it outside and have the heavier UD stem hang over concrete.

The silicone will usually break when im using the hammer as a nail.

Though I could probably use a longer piece of silicone. but it adds the silicone to the airpath. Guess that doesn't really matter.

You'll want the MFLB tubing to slightly lip over this makes inserting the stem easier and less likely for the "gasket" to end up in the stem. There is already silicone in the path from the gasket itself, if you do dabs you'll notice the silicone will start getting hot enough to form it's own light vapor after enough heating, if not in the back end then the gasket you use already will do the same.

Don't overload your dab, literally the smallest you can do the best for you. If all that oil is leaking then you're inhaling too fast or loading too much or aren't a high enough temp. I would suggest putting some cotton in the path to see how bad you're leaking.

I wouldn't use a long direct draw or 14mm without two hands, you can twist it on well enough that it doesn't come off immediately but overtime the heavier UD stems will be loosened. If you're in an area where you're afraid to drop it then nylon stems are what you want or thin silicone.

Have you seen my video? I would heat it around the lengths in that, not very long. Like 20 seconds no more than 45.

What is a fair sales price for the Hammer? It is not the pro version, but does have the rubber gaskets inserted.

Solo stem fits as a draw tube for loading your herb into the heat exchanger, but there is no room in the stem to load weed in there and use it like you would the normal way.
My hammer stems and new gong are in the mail!
Not an Aussie vendor so shipping was a sting, but well worth it! With any luck you'll know why when you get yours!
Bit of practise and it should easily manage much bigger clouds and has a smaller bowl than the solo.

ahh okay thanks mate, do you drop your herb right into the exchanger or on top of a screen? amazed at how much this thing can extract it will likely replace my mighty as my home vape
