into either the front of back end of the hammer. I have used a dug out pipe to draw off the back end however ones that rubber seal is removed I think it would be easier attach your drawing tubes.
If you have a solo or air, check their stem on the front of the hammer. I find that the bowl slots straight over the gasket for conduction use. (Stem obviously can't be loaded as the entire bowl slots over) but it does hold place much better than the hammer stem.

Back end is pure conduction when loaded. Front end gives convection with conduction. Distancing the herb into the stem makes it pure convection.
I have used my solo stems with the Hammer, they are too big for me.
Since the heat is highly concentrated towards the center I normally pack to ensure an even extraction otherwise if I load too much or allow herb to get inhaled away it will get too much convection.
What do you use to draw off the back end of the unit? Do you just place your hammer stem onto the rubber ring for airtight seal? I'd like to be able to remove this and attach tubing directly over the element like on the front.
I do it with my arizer air stem fits well.
I use the back end of the nail to push in a little rolled pea sized ball back towards the divider from the front end. Also had good results with loading from the back and drawing from the front but it's a pain to remove from the this, unless you crush it all to dust with the nail and blow it out... Which I guess is no problem for the hammers rugged design.

I normally put my lips to the black exhaust gasket if I'm inhaling from that end. Otherwise you can remove it and go back to the OG Hammer days where people would use two stems.
My back end has a stem gasket under the black exhaust gasket to ensure airpath isolation. I no longer use extended tubing or stems to prevent excess vapor and just use a cork or cork with my finger to trap vapor.

I have direct drawed off the unit but head is an issue. Must the hammer be opened up to remove, or can I get some tweezers around it and pull? Tried before just with the nail to no success.
Holding the trigger down and u it heat are my two biggest problems with the hammer, both helped by using it in conduction mode!

I'm not sure how the production Hammer Pros came, I can remove mine when it doesn't have the stem gasket otherwise it's easier with the head off especially for when you put it back on.
Cheers, got it out had a play and put it back seems to rattle too much without it. In other hammer news! I was ready to lend it to someone while I use my VG. However! With a little silicone I have given the hammer new life! As a smoker I used to loveeee waterfalls and gravities. I used to also love just hitting it dry like a 3rd lung and glass steam rollers. Hooked it up to a poweraide bottle (super frowned on I know, but consenting adult and all that good stuff) and use it as a waterfall and third lung. Got me wondering if a glass 3rd lung set up would be worth the hassle, or maybe just upgrade to a bigger bong (currently rocking a pissy little dhgate 10 inch perced thing) might get a nice 12-18inch? Straight or beaker bong and give the hammer some volume to fill!
How hot do you run it? I found a lot of help comes from manually adjusting the gear under the flame slide as shown in this thread. Once you get a flame that you like it becomes much easier to get going.

That bums me out.. It really is a great vape, it replaced the lotus for me actually, but I might snag another lotus still.

Oh no the inevitable happened, once again I built up confidence in the lock on stems and attempted to use one handed.... No dice. Where can I find some super cheap stems
! I really like the hammer but not happy about having to order $40 worth of shit because "lock on stems" are merely, sit in place and be careful of gravity.

I found the only reasonable way to use was the hold the stem like a glass hitter and use the hammer like the lighter. The rare times I tried to move the hammer with the stem "locked on" (aka just sitting in place..... JUST) the peice of shit fell straight off and onto the ground, this is after being forced on as tight as possible without breaking the flimsy stems.
Normally after being this betrayed by a product I would simple walk away never purchase anything from them again and vocally tell my friends the same... However I really do like the hammer, this is my main serious issue with the hammer the rest comes from the design and can't really be help (heat up time, hot unit ect) so I feel like maybe I should just email the people and explain my problem? With such a good product they deserve to know for what reasons customers are voting with wallets. Or at least give them the chance to stop say that stems are doing any form of locking.
I have decided that I probably will not purchase any stems unless they can be found super cheap.
The additional cost plus the cost of was is effectively a butane torch puts the hammer into the way too expensive for what it is territory given I know I'll just break more stems, I am usually pretty clumsy but these things break at what is well bellow normal operating levels. Great extreme has been taken to not break these pissy stems since I got the thing, which is a shame as the rest of the unit is so robust.
I was searching for a nice easy vape that my bong smoking friends can use with water for a big hit, because of this issue this is not the decide I do not believe, next up I'll try the coil!

but the clouds were just so big Mmmm, well glad for the hammer sake the issue is not universal. My stems would not hold on with 2 minutes of turning and getting it on as tight as possible move the thing 2 inches slowly in the air and the stem falls out. If this were an Australian company I'd be jumping up and down, writing a letter and demanding some free stems. I like to think I am pretty fair with companies, never ever once made a warranty claim even when within my rights (most things I really want warranty on are too cheap to bother, or when something does break it's had a long and prosperous enough life), but I 100% feel very wronged by this issue with this product. I'll write an email soon I guess just to let them know. Two new stems from the states are $67aud and it still needs to be handled softer than a new born baby which is not worth it.
Luckily for me there is still conduction with a solo stem I guess, but with a lot of pre heating I was really enjoying convection made.
I could happily passively aggressively email this to them today.

The issue is probably your tubing size, but I think I mentioned it before Hammers quality control and design of the lock on stems have changed. Does your stem actually look like the one in the video? My newer ones no longer have the screen lip.
Underdog stems, Underdog stems and underdog stems. Seriously guys those should be what you're looking at, along with an mflb draw whip for a good supply of gaskets.
My stems had the little bulge ring where the screen goes, I could see the principle of what was at play it just simply didn't work. Mmmm, any idea the cheapest place to buy these UD stems? Personally I believe the hammer is overpriced but so are a lot of things and I'll happily live with the purchase if they didn't lie about stems (or the device was faulty) I'd love some much better stems to use, and to be perfectly honest most of the reason I refuse to buy new stems is because I feel robbed enough and do not wish to give the hammer people any more of my $$$! But from want I have read UD is a great company, maybe they can have my money thanks .

I would definitely contact David about the faulty stems because the design works but those were clearly faulty or your tubing was too thin. Those are the likeliest of what has happened to you.
I do however have about 8 hammer stems and refuse to use the last ones I received with my Hammer Pro since they don't stay on either. Albeit I do have thin tubing but even on my thicker default Hammer tubing they seem loose. Also these stem have a curved screen with no lip rather than the flat one with a lip. To load a screen with the buldged ring I would use chopstick wooden dowel or make a flat end on a skewer and use the flat head of the nail to insert the screen so it's well seated.

Unless he is a reasonable man and understands the core concepts of lock, on and working as advertised.Any idea on some other options for stems? Otherwise standard silicone and a standard glass can work. Are UD and hammer the only places you know of that sell stems that fit the hammer? $18 usd plus postage for what I feel is a piece of shit will not be happening... I doubt I could spend $10 out of principle. And UD no postage (that I can work out if I run out of options I guess)

Ed can make a wooden stem.
I'm not sure but I wouldn't bet on those fitting since there is no one who personally knows. Standard however should fit, I use the long and short gong but primarily the short. Nylon stems are two handed operation. I also use just the thin silicone. Don't know of too many places not in the US that sell these stems. I bought a glow in the dark chillum and have occasionally used that as a stem. Classifieds might be helpful one of these days.
You could buy some tubing from an online vendor you may have to figure out where Underdog gets theirs as it's the best type to go with. I have other silicone tubing but it doesn't make a good stem even though it's near identical size so the make and model of the tubing are essential. I don't think UD would be against informing someone who can't purchase from him where to get the tubing or closest kind.
