Thank you for sharing that info. It's not what they DO say, it's what they DON'T say in these updates that is the problem. Imagine the pandemonium if they put out there in the public update that they still don't have heaters, but look, shiny bags of other stuff and incomplete builds!

as optimistic as I generally like to be... that is a little disheartening with how they have been playing these past updates... Maybe I need to reread the last update b4 the parts but was under the impression they would be able to start assembling and shipping after these parts came in

I do think they will actually deliver and are as close as they've ever been. I also "mostly" don't blame them for the lack of transparency, they are so late to market they have no choice but to keep stringing it along or the hasty emotional types will flood them with refund requests just before they reach the finish line.
Buzz Danklin's info is the only thing I think is keeping people on the positive side, but they are quickly running out of whatever consumer confidence they have left.

I agree, it is time for them to discuss the exact position they are in regardless of the outcome.
I don't really see how it is possible they have no heaters, batteries or other electronics yet.

It is a matter of transparency, people have been waiting a long time for this and there has been a lot of support. I personally would rather hear something like, the heaters will not be ready for 2 months or whatever, than for them to imply that shipping is immanent if it isn't. The scheduled update did not include this info either.

I do agree that they can be more clear at times where they are standing in the process, however I don't think they're intentionally trying to hide anything. If they were, they never would have told us about the heater problem, or respond to that email saying they haven't gotten their electronics yet. Like @zymos said, this was not even a scheduled update, they did this to show us they're slowly closing in on the shipping date. Be happy they're happy and that they're willing to allocate time out of their busy days to attempt to reinforce their customer's trust. Rock on GH Team

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the updates in the Okin thread, now THAT'S how you do updates. The Okin could take another 5 years to become reality and I wouldn't care as long as @Dan Morrison keeps feeding us his brilliant photo essays and production process details.

Sorry, but I do not agree that any company or individual has a right to "keep stringing people along", regardless how little respect they may have for those people's character or ability to make rational judgements. "Stringing people along", even if it is "for their own good" is just plain wrong. I hope that whatever they are doing in this regard, it is not intentional.

I mean I dont think its intentional stringing, I just think they are being very careful with their wording in updates and that because they know how the community has been reacting and doesnt want to cause more issues and claims of lying than has already come up (besides the ones that are bound to happen) Hopefully they get the other stuff in quickly and gets it out to us... the waiting game is a dangerous one

Even if they don't have the electronics yet, there is work that could be done - assembling the back end, installing screens in the front end, etc. It'd speed things up for when the electronics do arrive.
