Compressed canned air is a terrible idea. Bitterant is added to prevent 'huffing'. I have used the stuff on a davinci vape and I ruined it. I could not get rid of the bitterant taste.

DON'T DO IT!

This is very disappointing, I will probably be seeking a refund. Broken shipping promises, and just reading a lot of these comments is leaving a bad taste in my mouth about this company. It feels sketchy and this pretty much seals the deal.

They literally took money out of my bank account with the promise of shipment in June, and went back on their word. They still have my 350 dollars and all I have is an insincere apology addressing me as "valued customer."

This company doesn't know what they're doing, but they hired a marketing consultant this time around so they're still going to make a huge profit on a product that I'm starting to get the impression is massively overpriced and was most likely hurriedly developed.

I'm not sure the company ever PROMISED anything other than to get you your product as soon as they could while prioritizing orders they received first. You can't blame the distribution chain for manufacturing delays. That's just not how things work. I suggest anyone making future orders take note of the relatively new nature and high demand for this product. THERE WILL BE SHIPPING DELAYS UNTIL DEMAND DROPS. It's elementary economics. I suppose if you cancel your order, you'll be helping out someone who wasn't going to get theirs quite yet.

Remember, friends, you're all first adopters of a new product, still technically in pre-sale. There will be problems and there will be delays, but the general consensus is most problems can and will be fixed with future software updates. At FF HQ, some CS reps could probably use some training, but we can't say (because we dont know) that they all require it. I do hope they reflect on their warranty policy. I want to live in a great world like yours with instant satisfaction where the customer is ALWAYS right. Fact is, they aren't and sometimes demands aren't reasonable. I waited 2-3 months for my Pandora vape back in the day. I placed my order and went on with life until I got an e-mail one day that it was on it's way. No complaints, no demands for refunds, just patience followed by A+ vaping. A little bit of patience will ease your aching heart.

If your concern is having a vape sooner than later, this device isn't for you just yet. Order a Crafty or Pax and keep waiting until they have stock in their warehouse to ship immediately. You'll know the exact ship date at that point and so you won't be stressed. The company will iron out all other issues as they come up. If they don't, I doubt anyone will purchase a FF(3/VII/XV/whatever).

I'm keeping my FF2 because it's an excellent device. It feels like quality. It produces quality. I feel great during and after use. I follow this thread because I'm curious if anyone finds any tricks or hacks with FF2 use, but these posts stress me so much with this shipping non-sense.

This isn't addressed only to you @Littleseedling, but you're the most recent post I've seen about this. I don't work for FF and I do like to play devil's advocate. Really, though, I just want to enjoy this thread more than I am.

Sounds like the Bluetooth they have on the device is constantly running in the background.

It's not supposed to be, and I suspect that if it were always running this would be a more widespread, more consistent issue. But I'm not clear on what is causing this.

Really, though, I just want to enjoy this thread more than I am.

Spaceship excellent post. Really well said and holy shit I'm so sorry I wrote a message that could potentially poison all my thread friends. I feel like a real idiot right now giving that advice!!

I'm loving the new lids I owned white which I really like and now using black which looks like some sort of spy device from the future.

I will bust out blue tonight for the poker game bc it looks like the party lid color. Let's get back to good vibes good thoughts and happiness!

If I'm honesty I'm also feeling some of these samethings.

I got an email from them saying a blue unite won't be ready until 3-4 weeks, so I can change the color, i replied back with the white color. I wonder, I have to call, I just replied to the email. It said if I change the color it will ship out sometime next week.

I am just wondering if it is worth it. I have a Cloud Evo, and will I use the Firefly outside? Is it easy to just pick up and use with stealth? I do like new gadgets and stuff like that, but it is a bit expensive too.

Thanks guys, I'm hoping I can contribute FF tips and tricks instead in the future.

@malsanti The FF is kind of stealth. If you hold it with your palm over the window, it looks similar to most oil vapes. If anyone sees in, it's pretty obvious what you've got. I haven't tried any recent portable vapes except this one, so I can't comment on how it compares. I'd also call to change the lid, just to verify that they updated your order.

@vape4fun I'm jealous, man, I missed out of the 2/1 deal. I'm really digging the gold. Was going for blue, but grabbed the gold since they were in stock at the time. I like the earlier idea of getting a white lid and painting it. Maybe apply a simple decal to it. No big deal if it peels from continuous heat/use.

So i wasnt going to write about this but kinda goes with the current trend of the thread..
I ordered an external charger combo, case and a pk of pads on June 11. Nothing was mentioned at POS or up to the point when i sent an email to FF asking the status of my order...a week later. They got back to me 3-4 days later...said it hadnt shipped yet...charger and case were not in stock. I was surprised to say the least.
A day or so later got the email for BOGO lids. I immediately jumped on their site to figure out which colors i was going to order. Then thought...wait a second, i have a pending order. I should be able to add the 2 lids to forego the extra 25-45$ charge for shipping, right? No go! FF s response was that they were unable to add to existing orders. C'mon!? Really?! Its 2016...we cant add 2 lids to an order thats not even close to shipping?! I was super disappointed...i could think of a number of solutions that they couldve offered.
Well, i didnt order the lids...maybe shouldve but couldnt bring myself to...on principle alone. Thoughts?
P.S. still waiting on shipping notification for june 11 order.

Cloudy...
I have experienced this, intermittently. Fully charged battery, use maybe half....leave it in an idol FF for a day or two....and it appears to be drained when I pick up the FF after an idol day. I have no idea what causes this. I've had it happen with four different batteries in two different FF2s. But, it is far from consistent....I've replicated this behavior and had a battery last me five days. So whatever causes this, it doesn't happen every time. (I've also noticed removing the battery prevents this apparent drainage....weird. :hmm:)

I've discussed this with FF and they are aware of it, but as far as I can tell it's not widespread behavior....only one person other than you has mentioned it, that I've seen so far.

My workaround is to keep one battery fully charged and ready to swap in if the current one throws a red. Hopefully FF will figure this one out, if they are ever able to replicate it.

Thanks for answering. So where the problem is then? The battery or the ff2? Should I contact firefly and request a new battery and/or unit?

Hope they don't give me problems because I live in UK...

You can contact them, but honestly, I don't think they know what the problem is, let alone how to fix it. It hasn't happened to enough users yet....it doesn't even happen with any regularity to the few of us who've noticed it.

I would just work around it for now until it's better understood. It's pretty easy to avoid it thanks to having a spare battery. Keep one charged for those times when the current battery might go dead earlier than you anticipated. .

I worry that this isn't the firefly company I'm used to dealing with.

In the FF1 days, the thing was fairly unreliable but service was amazing - they knew what was going on with their units, they listened to their users, i was never without an ff1 for longer than a week or so.

I really worry to see CS taking a more adversarial role with the FF users - I don't think it's a good change.

After owning the FF2 for almost 2 months I can report that I havent had an issue with any part of it from lid to charging cradle. Works flawlessly. I now get decent size clouds from first hit until it tapers off at the very end. Those saying youre not getting clouds on first hit...I am not sure what the difference is but I easily get same results as the FF2 co-founder video posted a day or so ago. People claiming that its CGI on reddit...lol so so dumb.

Anyway, i see some negativity and impatient people on here so wanted to report that I have only had a positive experience to this point. Customer service answers my emails within a day and shipping has been extremely fast. When they are behind they communicate efficiently (unlike some other companies *cough* Hopper Labs *cough*).

Awesome product. More than happy with it.

I haven't had much experience with the Firefly people, but I can confirm, for me, they in no way even come close to answering my emails within a day.

I don't know the exact number, but off the top of my head, I'd say they've haven't even responded to half my emails, much less within a day. Which is why I just call, but that's a big pain, as I don't live in America.

At this point, I would also say, it's not worth the trouble for me. I already called to make sure I didn't order a color that was not in stock and would cause further delay, they told me blue was fine and I would receive in 1-2 weeks. Cool. Now they're saying it'll be two months, and I have to call yet again.

When you order anything, you should be able to sit back and let it come, not be constantly checking with them and managing your order and having to call them. I've called them many times. I even had to call after I ordered, because I never received any form of receipt, dispatch details, or confirmation email of any kind.

Thats what im talking about @malsanti. In the beginning, CS seemed top shelf...i had honestly never seen anything like it. I was truly impressed. Within the past month or so...it seems to have drastically dropped off. Not sure if they're going in a different direction or if its just too much for them lately?

Who knows man? Very good effective customer service, especially at the launch of a product, is expensive. Certainly, being busy with a new product is the problem but one would hope they would've been prepared.

Oh well, will just have to give them a call. But oh god, I am so tired, and stoned. And I have to leave soon. Not in the mood to buy some calling card and deal with all those numbers, again. But it might be another month if I don't!

I don't mind being patient. But unexpected delays and also having to manage the order makes that a little difficult, imo. But it's not biggie. I think I might just be a little stressed from Brexit.

Ff customer service is probably overloaded right now. They have a product in preorder so they are probably getting hundreds of emails a day asking when the next shipment is in and if people can switch colours. They are also probably not shipping out warranty replacement units quickly because they don't have extra units laying around. I think once Firefly is completely caught up with preorders then we will see whether their customer service is good. I wouldn't judge them too harshly yet.

They definitely seem overloaded to me even in the way they respond but they still have replied to me in about a day....might just be dependent on the question and what kind of day they are having.

As far as the delay goes, for a preorder they are moving along super smoothly IMO. I actually got mine like a month before I expected it and coming from previously being a GH pre order (which I cancelled) it is night and day. At least they seem to give updates on what is happening and I do not think they are telling lies of any kind. They are shipping them pretty quick as they come in.

I'm surprised at all the issues people are having with Firefly, anytime I contacted them they were exceptional and even answered within an hour in one of my cases. Hopefully when stock is all caught up things will improve.

I preordered my FF2 at the end of April as the 4/20 sales left my VAS further unrelieved. My experience with this device and company thus far have evoked an array of thoughts and emotions I would like to share with my fellow vapor connoisseurs.

The very weekend that my Mighty's button broke while on vacation in San Francisco, I come home to my new (and much needed at this point) FF2 sitting at my doorstep packaged in a thin USPS envelope. My initial impression unboxing and using it was very high. Aside from the new device smell which dissipated quickly, I was able to harness tasty pure convection clouds within a few sessions of experimenting with the amount of dank to pack and how much to draw.

With the FF2, I'm not sure if the LSD (long slow draw) really applies. To ensure visible clouds and vapor thickness one can feel even on the lowest setting, one must indeed take a long draw of at least 10 seconds, but draw resistance is quite strong. It will exercise the lungs if not already in shape! My lady was envious of the moan inducing plumes I was able to emit from it (that flavor!) because she was pulling a lot slower. Now as a general rule whenever I hand someone the FF2 for the first time I teach that one must be able to hear a consistent faint whistle for at least a 10 second draw. Now that she knows, she's loving it.

The extraction process with this device delivers superior taste compared to the handful of quality vapes I have tried, but I find it is a bit flawed in design. Even with the laser drilled holes, hot air passes through the herb unevenly leaving the back portion of the bowl unbrowned, making a stir every other toke key to an enjoyable session. This is where a stir tool is necessary as I don't find the tapping method to move the herbs adequate. One method I have been employing on the go is using one of my lady's hair pins as a stirrer as it magnetizes right onto the body!

XRxE5ul.jpg

A bigger bowl with more holes might have aided the uneven extraction and necessity to draw as consistent as one must -something I can't say I wouldn't want, though I didn't design it; which is where my initial critique of this device pretty much ends!

This however was only after having to deal with FireFly customer service when my device first started to buzz, then failed when it stopped emitting a glow or heat after about a dozen sessions.

To go back and mention my broken Mighty, as circumstances played out I ended up making an RMA request with both Storz and Bickel as well as FireFly on the same day to receive surprisingly different treatment. S&B promptly authorized my request and sent a prepaid shipping label the same day I contacted them. I shipped out and was sent a brand new unit (to my surprise) within a few business days. The team over at FireFly handled things a bit differently. Firstly, I emailed them and received a response after 5 days. I was asked a few questions which I promptly responded to, and did not receive another response for the following week. One day after work a few beers in I called FireFly and was immediately sent an RMA. I had to pay the shipping fee to send back the faulty unit. A week later I was contacted that a "replacement order was sent" to later find that my same FireFly had actually been fixed by their repair team in Seattle.

Ever since then, my FireFly 2 has continually redeemed itself as the taster's choice. I enjoy the medium low setting the most. I don't find it to be as quickly effective as my other vapes, though taking the time to get to the same point is thoroughly relaxing.

I'll definitely be reaching for this one any time I want to fully experience the aroma of a particular strain. It also makes concentrates wildly enjoyable, which I don't want to downplay as I mostly vape herb. I obtained some really nice full melt bubble recently which did me real good.

I almost failed to mention how smooth this vape is likely to how deep I am holding my hits in. Here's to more smooth sailing!

You know what's strange, and I can't post picture at the moment, but mine tends to brown the middle of the bowl, not the front like that. I stir every 3-5 hits. Usually get 12-15 hits total. Taste is amazing all the way through.

Still love my Solo, which is known to have superior taste, but by 3rd hit this thing blows it away.

Yes, I would agree as the Solo mostly employs conductive heat. No contest really.

Maybe I am just pulling too hard. More experimentation shall commence. From what I see, the air doesn't go straight up through the herb but rather more diagonally toward the mouthpiece as you pull, and without enough force you won't pull enough air through to extract enough to make a satisfying cloud. That's why I just go by the whistle.

Lately, I've been loving me some high temp. Just the last few days I decided to kick it up. The FF2 has been my daily for at least a month now. I've only used the volcano a few times and primarily for research purposes (new Volcano "pods" and revaping some FF2 ABV). The volcano is, at least for now, losing its prominent position in my living room. Heading to a quieter spot in the office for special occasions. I do have a few other toys on the horizon.

IIRC, I ordered in April and had it within a month (black). If they are really lagging by multiple months now, I have to assume they are having manufacturing issues or experiencing increased demand. They seem to be sending out lids like nobody's business these days, so those aren't trouble to source.

awesome idea on the hair pin! Thanks for sharing.

I disagree with you slightly on one minor point with technique. I find that hearing the whistle generally means I'm pulling too hard. Its ok to finish the draw there to really maximize it after I've gone very slow to heat things up, but starting there is a recipe for not having a great hit. Whatever works for you, experiment and find it.

On all other points we are twins. I'm not high right now, but I missed the part with the reason you RMA'd your FF2  (edit2: I see you were referring to a previous buzzing FF2)

edit: just want to point out that mine browns exactly as @creationdivine

Mine browns the same as @creationdivine as well. This makes sense because the air is being pulled through the tiny holes and then flows at an angle until it exits the top of the bowl and goes down the vapor path. The hot air is not really hitting the back of the bowl so that's why you get uneven browning. I find I have to stir every 2 hits or so. The stirring is the most annoying part of this vape imo.

I'm pulling great hits every time, even on the lowest heating profile. As a rule I don't stop inhaling until I feel a little tickle. With the whistle steadily wooing I can achieve that in 1 heat cycle every time. I also stir after every hit.

I missed the part with the reason you RMA'd your FF2

After owning it for 2 days and about a dozen sessions testing it on every setting the heating element stopped emitting heat. The green light would still come on (and even blink and go solid as if it was warming up) but no heat nor glow from the heating element was being produced. Prior to this, my device started to buzz during use. Firefly never gave an explanation as to what part was faulty when I received it repaired and restored in all of its glory.
