Just wanted to chime in again here with my thoughts. I haven't read this thread much since I posted last, but I have been falling in love with the Firefly 2 more and more with each use! I'll be honest and say I had a tiny bit of buyers remorse when my first sessions weren't as desirable as I had hoped, but that has turned around completely.!

I was almost ready to write this off as a vape I'd only use for oils, but with with the right technique, it is amazing with herb! A 4 piece grinder, a somewhat coarse grind, and packing the bowl fully as well as pushing down on the herb a little, but not forcing it too much has been the key to success for me. I also like either medium-high (ramping up to high later in the session) or just high as my heat setting. I have also let it heat up for a bit longer than the indicator says to. A long medium to hard draw gives me clouds very comparable in density to the Grasshopper or Evo in my experience. The vapor is amazingly cool for not using any water and the taste is very good to me (though I don't get top shelf). I still find that stirring in a session is necessary for me to get full extraction, but even doing this quickly with my fingers (taking about 5 seconds or less) is adequate enough to get the job done. I can get my ABV as dark is I desire with it on the high heat setting.

As others pointed out, I find it to be a very great complementary (make jokes about insects complimenting each other here) portable vape to the Grasshopper as well as the to the Evo. It won't replace either unit for me, but it will also continue to have a spot in my daily lineup. I really can't imagine needing another vape at the moment, but I've said that before . I tried to keep this brief, but that never works out too well for me.

TLDR = FF2 + GH + EVO = Perfect for me! (As is each vape individually). A little twisted, so I hope this all makes sense!

I will have to check out the Grasshopper when they finally become available! I like the idea of something even smaller than the Pax 2 or FF2 for times that it might be more convenient.

@BuzzDanklin Thankyou for sharing that! Mark was 100% on point! "Some like hot, on the point/edge of combustion, some like my wife like it really cool, light and gentile. (I'm like his wife, I just need cool effective vapor at this point in my life, hot lotus rips are too much on my lungs even through the vaporbong with cold water. And my arthritis makes the butane lighter very difficult at times...)

Very cool. I notice he mentioned adding more temperature controls to the FF2 in the future.

There's something about having a vaporizer that can be improved via software update that really appeals to me.

(I'm like his wife, I just need cool effective vapor at this point in my life, hot lotus rips are too much on my lungs even through the vaporbong with cold water. That's one of the reason why I want one. Software upgrade and a company that hears what they users need, perfecto IMO.

So I "broke down" and bought a "slightly used" FF2 before my pre-order was fulfilled. I received it on Saturday and I still haven't used it as much as I'd like to, but I've got a few questions.

I know my unit is working. I'm getting lifted and the ABV is comparable to my Crafty, which is great, but I feel (like many people) that I'm not getting the best performance that this thing is capable of.

I seem to get bigger hits (more visible vapor) when I press down on the front of the lid while I'm drawing. I know people have had similar issues so I'm wondering if this is normal or if my top is defective? Maybe there's an easy fix?

It also seems to get hot to the touch a lot of the time. From where the buttons are all the way around to the front of the bowl is pretty warm. Warm enough that I don't want to hold that end for very long. This could just be the way I'm using it (especially since I'm trying to figure out how to get bigger hits from it.)

Some people have suggested that there could be a "break-in" period with this device. Are other people noticing their FF2s performing better after having them for a while?

I think I have some other questions, but these are the most important for right now. I really am enjoying this thing, but judging from videos and reviews, I still need to perfect a few things.

I talked to Firefly before I bought the used unit and they said that canceling is easy and doable. I guess the refund process can take 3-10 days, but I'm okay with that. I am actually waiting on an email to get the whole process started.

Gonna take a shot at answering this...there are people that have had it and used it much more extensively but I will take a shot.

- Having to press down on lid - Make sure that there is no pieces of material blocking the rubber/foam seal on the outside of the lid and on top of unit. This will cause it to not be air tight and definitely impact ability to take a draw. Also, make sure you are lining it up correctly.

- Hot to touch - Mine gets warm too and I realized at high temp, the slower I draw the hotter it gets so maybe try to speed up your draw a little bit. It is warm near bowl but not uncomfortable to touch.

I feel like I'm getting the seal (and the entire lid, for that matter) pretty clean, but that "gasket" does tend to attract particulates, which makes it a little more difficult. I might need to play with that a little bit more.

I'm glad you mentioned draw speed, because that was something I played with last night. Really, that could be the answer to the lid problem too (maybe).

Who knows, maybe I'm prematurely asking for help and I need to perfect my technique. I will still gladly accept more advice though. I'm not giving up. I will tame the wild Firefly.

I would love to hear some feedback from @colomarijuana. I think I'm going to continue to play with it for at least 24 hours before calling Firefly, though (I don't want them to send a new top if I don't need it)

I can only compare the v2 pro series 3 to the ff1. And it's not even close. The v2 is a conduction pen Vape. And I never cared for its performance. It's been gathering dust for a long time. Even the ff1 is far superior. Primarily flavor, efficiency, build quality. I found the ff1 finicky (a challenge to get everything just right), but when you do, it's great. From reviews here, the ff2 is a big improvement over the ff1, so no contest against the v2.

It's tough to say because the FF2 is equipped with a kind of "stand-by" mode. I'm not sure if anybody has tested it yet, but I'm under the impression that it does continue to use some battery while just sitting. The user manual actually recommends keeping the FF2 on the charging dock while not in use.

Over the course of 2 days I got approx. 45 draws out of it and it died.

Mr Me is right, the V2 isn't even close. It's not even a competent conduction vape IME. Comparing it to either FF, or even the P2, is like the difference between walking barefoot and driving a Rolls. They aren't even the same activity!
