Sorry if this has already been posted but I couldn't find it, but why do we need a much higher temperature setting when using the whip? I use 200C for bags but need 230C for the whip....granted I haven't done the DDave mods yet...
Also very interested chart @vis, but do we know the temperature that actually reaches the elbow? If I set my Q at 200C, is that what the temperature of the herb is?

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the numbers you read on the EQ display. They're probably off at least 10 degrees when it comes to the temp hitting your herb.

It's either the stock cyclone bowl, or your technique. Using the whip is good for me at any temperature, but I have the modded cyclone bowl.
Are you preheating? Try preheating everything for AT LEAST 10 mins prior to use. I read a post recently where they said 15 minutes pre-heat. I don't know about that though.
I think a lot of it is just technique. I can vape immediately on a stone cold setup by just inhaling super slow to heat up the herb.

Interesting, I'm usually impatient, I'll have to try preheating longer ( I do preheat though). I still find, however, that I can use the whip at temps like 230-250C, whereas if I get much above 210C with a bag it starts to hit wayy to hard and seems very near combustion.
Also, does anyone use the MFLB orbiter inline with your whip? I was just curious how/if this makes a difference. I love hitting the Q out of a bong, would a small inline bubbler apparatus (aka Orbiter) make a big difference?

If someone wants to vaporbong with an Extreme Q the way I would recommend is to get a Vortex adapter for the Q. It is available from Planetvape and it is cheaper than the vortex stems.
You can then Use the Q with a 14 mm or 18 mm bubbler.

I never really have any irritation taking dry higher temperature hits. However with my set up I can, most of the time get larger more dense vapor by the water filtration.
That is a bonus already if you like taking deep, long lungerz.
As for flavor loss, none detected from my testing. In fact at times while comparing my dry hits to my water hits with the same strain I was able to detect other flavor blooms. Most of the time being more pronounced and enjoyable to me over the flavor of the dry hits.
Just stat on top of keeping your water clean at all times and it is much more enjoyable. I also use very clean filtered water, not the basic charcoal filtered stuff. Good clean quality herb, clean healthy water and glass makes all the difference for me while exploring vapor land. Cheers!

That's the Arizer Solo on the other side of the claisen adapter.
As much as I like the new Vortex adapter, I don't risk having my water tube above my vaporizer anymore having had water end up in my Solo several times. I only use them at the end of the whip like a regular bubbler. The EQ is particularly problematic due to the fan and other electronics. Looks really cool, but I'm low income, so not worth the risk to me!!

I don't think that would be a problem.
As far as damage to the fan goes, the thing to watch for is ABV falling down into the fan. I've had mine for five years, but have had to blow it out and even carefully disassemble and clean whenever the fan slowed or stopped.
The fan operated by the remote is one of the best things about the EQ.

I suggest getting time in using that handy remote fan control. It's simple and very useful for taking monster fan assisted draws. One hand on the whip one hand on the remote ...... it's blow time! After a few of these I'm totally whipped.
Ilike using all 3 fan speeds during my draws. It keeps things interesting for sure. Cheers!

Since i've got the EQ always i think if maybe is something wrong cause for example now with elbow pack ddave mode at 200c i can take like 5-6 very good full vapor hits and when i don't see vapor, i put temp at 230c and no vapor comes just a little bit, are 30c difference , you guys think is something wrong? Would i have to see vapor ?
With bags is same , first bag full of vapor , second bag there are vapor but no full even going up temp

I currently run my Ddave adapter but i never go with a elbow pack. I am wondering why most prefer the elbow pack. In theory packing the Ddave your material is closer to the heater rather than having it further away in the elbow. So i do not really understand , i find i get bigger clouds/mouthfuls of vapor when i have it closer to the heater. Plus i can fit more material for big group sessions.

Who's got the best price around for a 18mm f/f adapter? I've looked around on ebay and the prices range quite a bit. I found one for $5 USD plus $8.70 shipping but unfortunately they don't ship to Canada.

I actually called 4 head shops local to me and one about 20 mins away said they had the adapter in stock. I went this afternoon and sure enough they didn't have any 18mm f/f, only 14mm.
I ended up biting the bullet and bought a lot of 5 from DHGate.com

I think you bought the wrong ones.
"14 & 19 female converter" means both ends are female but one end is 19mm and one is 14mm.
I would try to get those refunded before they ship.
