Sometimes you just get lucky. That search for a pack of large screens that led me to the EQ deal had another surprise. When I got home, I found an XL screen was mixed in with my 10 pk.:suspicious:
They had no XL screens for sale. Was able to fashion it as a crumb catcher dome screen for the 18 F/F. Stuffed 3 ordinary screens inside the dome to push out. gently worked it in. So I was able to work a screen layer with no ridge to hook a corner on. Success.:) Now i can elbow pack at lower temps.

I'm running any where from as low as 345- 430F. The highest temp will cash my bowl in about 2 hits without combustion. However I only elbow pack it. Don't know if that matters.

Edit: I purchased a cloudbuddy and I've started using a cotton/filter in the vapor path. It doesn't restrict my airflow and the amount of pure thc that is collected is unreal. When I'm needing that extra medication I take my elbow screen out and push that ball of cotton to where the elbow screen goes and turn my temp up to the 450-470 range and watch out. Unbelievable way to get the most out of everything. I can't believe I didn't do this from the start. I'm not sure where it originated from but I seen @stickstones using 1 and I'm a believer.

Pretty much my most common settings for whip or bag. 175c to 210c. stepping up +4 degrees at a time. 230c to revape a large amount all at once (after crushing it all first ).
Normal idle temp set at 200c.
If your setup is efficient enough, even temps that are lower can create tea sipping vapor. I only run the unit at 260 on fan 3 when I want to clean the EQ of debris.
Any temp higher during usage makes the glass more difficult to empty and clean up. And turns the ABV black and less reusable.

I did have a bad combustion episode with the EQ when the airway in the center of the cyclone became clogged. All that concentrated magnified heat in one area. If you are experimenting with different vapor hardware, just be aware of things like airflow. I've already gave my 2cents enough in this forum about picking out a 'dDave' that won't be a downgrade. :\
But I never had a bad episode with the out of the box wares. Just when I play Mad Scientist with the secondary 'after market' stuff. :science:

Anyone see the Teen Wolf episode where the E was used as a poison diffusion device? Hilarious! I was like "you're doing it all wrong!"

Im replying to this knowing its YEARS old...But i just seen the episode and did a search to see if anyone mentioned it yet..

She put the cyclone bowl in upside down... Like with the black rubber part down on the heater :hmm: I was like no wonder its smoking so much

we have been living with the EQ for about 2 weeks. WOW!!

we have begun pre-heating recently. KA-POW!!

i'll mix 3 types of cannabis and 2 types of keif. BIP!!
(ive never had such a complex high when combusting)

sometimes i'll drop some old school bubble in the mix. BAM!!

after sipping on portables, vapor out of whip is cold. BOOM!!

we're ready for ddave's mod. ZAP!!

all of the accesories on top of EQ look pretty awesome. (the "vacuum cleaner" vapobong is nice) ZOOM!!

great to be here!!

Here's some more sound effects for all of you FC crime fighters. Take that combustion!! BLOOP! SWISH! ZZONK!

Happy with the particular dDave I picked out. Perhaps I will get a custom version later on. Had an EQ for over a month and still honing my skills to fight combustion. But the cyclone and elbow pack with a few of my own steps seems to be the favorite method so far. If you have been kind to your lungs already, you might find this amusing.

What's different is how I pack. First, I hold the elbow over whatever I plan on vaping and inhale. :p All the lighter particles go into the elbow screen. Then while still inhaling slowly, I turn the elbow hat side up and do a small tamp. NO pressing, just enough to level the pack. No more than that to be effective. Ideally, If it is easy to inhale into the elbow, then there should be the right amount of airflow throughout the pack. But still stay in the elbow. Then after enough sessions, I blow into the whip and the contents fall into the cyclone bowl and continue. Less fuss too.:spidey:

Hello friends! I started vaporizing nearly a decade ago with the original V-Tower being my first...and then when the Extreme came out I switched to it, and then the EQ became my daily driver for years! I think evolved into a VXL Cloud fanatic, and went through a bunch of toys along the way as VAS built up. It's been years since i've used the EQ as I became tired of whips/bags in favour of using glass. Yesterday I scored a great deal on a BNIB EQ and was floored by it! Flavour, vapour density/clouds, airflow, etc. all impressed me greatly! Reminds me of a budget Herbalizer!

It's great to be back!

So, You had an original EQ version one and now you might have an EQ 4.0? They have made several improvements over time from what I've read. As for me, I have the 4.0 and getting to know it. There is like 27 upgrades with this model. That impresses me alone because other companies would try to sell you a new model with a new design instead.

Had some success with my dDave and my poor man's SSV. It's a broken EQ elbow, some silicone tubing and a glass chillum. Stands up straight like an SSV wand and I get the chimney heat effect when I fill up the bags. Instant cloud action as soon as I power on the fan. White pillows at 200c. I have arrived.:rockon:Thank you FC !

Plus, the chillum bowl is concave enough for me to plug my balloon into it like some sort of adapter. I can also use the fat end of the EQ wand to plug the chillum when it is idling. Since I am able to fit 2 crumb catcher screens in my 18mm F/F dDave, It is also possible to elbow pack with this whole setup. Therefore, I can pack an elbow, take the screen out and preheat the chillum in the EQ.

Screen setup. It is a large screen formed into a dome with a normal screen inside the dome pressing outward. This allows a screen to fit where there is no ridges to set a screen on, like say the cyclone bowl is equipped for.

Started with the original analog V-tower (no LED, just a knob on the bottom), then first Extreme model, then v3, and then finally v4, and lots of buying/selling back and forth so I know the product well. The Cloud completely converted me with the "all glass business", and I never looked back. Now it's like falling in love with my first love all over again! LOVING IT! (I'm also having this V-re-AS with other vapes presently such as the Solo and LSV!)..

I recently acquired an unexpected eq!! I was trying a new employee and we got to talking. Turns out he and his bother both had eqs that they never use. I had a really nice heady combustion bubbler I was looking to sell so we agreed to traded and I paid 25 cash plus the glass and I got the EQ.

I was pretty much looking to try it out for a while and sell it. Little did I kno this is a very nice home unit. Its my first time every trying bags which is incredibly convenient. Then it dawned on me that these elbows r 18mm and I just received a $7 j hook from China so off to the races. I cant believe how versatile the eq is. My next experiment was the d020 and I was sold this vape is staying. From bags, dry to water filtered all r very enjoyable with huge clouds!!

The remote and digital screen makes this seem like a $500 elite vape but is really quite affordable.

I got to reading the thread to fine tune my skills and kept reading "elbow pack". So I packed the elbow screen and left the cyclone bowl empty. I believe thats what an elbow pack is..? This gave me equally as big clouds with a fraction of the herb!!

Needless to say I love this vaporizer and have been having a blast using it.

I've had my Extreme Q for about 2 months now and I love it but I'm looking at some of the accessories now and looking for input.

I've got Silicone tubing on its way to me now and I've got the F/F adaptor.

I'm looking at the water pipe adaptors that 7th floor has, the solid colored one looks like it's smaller than the normal ones, is that the case or is it just the site? Is there any difference between the two as far as performance?

I saw someone somewhere using http://www.ozbongs.com.au/DhOP-Vape-2-Bong-Adapter-ADJ-18 it looks like it might be a cheaper/smaller alternative to using a wand but I'm also worried it's maybe too small and then it'll have the same airflow restrictions as the standard elbow.

On 7th floor's site I saw this http://silversurfervap.com/index.php/silversurfervap/glass/mouthpeices/valve-mouthpiece.html it seems a little ridiculous, but does anybody have one?

And finally it looks like Arizer now has an all glass whip site for the balloons (as posted right above), I too was just wondering if anyone had used these/if they were worth getting?

After using this all glass setup for 2 bags, my advice is go for it!!! I always hated the balloon setup on the EQ, sometimes it would slip off and waste vapor, sometimes it would stick, or get gunky. I just need two caps to seal the bags when needed, in case anyone has a suggestion. I also love how the Arizer bags behave compared with turkey bags. The noise decrease is well worth the premium I think.

I use regular 10$ Arizer elbows for water tool connection, with silicone tubing. Works a treat.

Welcome and good luck!

Hey guys my eq has been out of commission for a few months now since moving and most of the accessories being lost. I was able to find a ddave adaptor before for around $20 to canada but now I'm having a hard time finding anything under $30. Wondering if any fellow Canadians were able to find one at a good price. And also wondering if anyone had an idea of a cheaper version to DIY the bag set up. If not I will probably end up going for the all glass set up above. Does seem much for convient then the old set up. Thanks for any help.

Anyone tried the All-Glass Mini Whip Set?

...because we are trying it out right now, and it rocks!!!

ShAW6kW.jpg

Seriously, I spent DAYS just trying to find a picture of it set up. Are there any places to get it aside from Arizer directly? It's a little spendy after shipping.

Does the mouthpiece get hot being in the flow? Can you say it tastes any cleaner?

Anyway, I'm pretty stoked, it seems awesome. I've been on the fence but perhaps I should just go for it. I emailed them for a picture and several days later, no response. And NO ONE in the Western Hemisphere seems to carry the part except Arizer directly. :-(

I don't know of another place selling this kit. The mouthpiece stays cold, not even warm, as if the glass tube was cooling down the vapor. If you need to know or see anything else, just ask.

Edit: You could save by buying one All-Glass Mini Whip (15$), and one Frosted Glass Mouthpiece - For Balloons (7$), and use turkey bags. The 29$ kit I got gets you 1 more glass mouthpiece, and 2 bags, for 7$ more so I thought it was worth it.

@Philreal187 Yes. you are "elbow packing". Thought you were already in the know with the EQ. :D What with your $7 j hook workaround. Hope my more recent posts will help a vape veteran as yourself. I've had plenty of fun learning and passing on what I can to FC. It's only fair.

In Post #8390 I mention the poor man's SSV wand that I came up with. The chillum is thick glass, much like the SSV wand. So there is heat being conducted. Also the bowl end in the chillum works great as a plug for the balloons. (Some of us already have a broken EQ elbow lying around.) Essentially, anything that is made of ground glass and stands like a chimney will work in your favor, I presume. Thicker glass all the better.

The All-Glass Mini Whip Set looks easy to use, unlike the out of the box kit. Although I'd be inclined to not use the angle piece at all and have the balloon end with the adapter hook directly in to the cyclone. If that's do-able. In its favor, The angle piece would keep the bag well behaved and switchable to direct draw.

But yea, ideally, I believe a thick glass chimney-type tube will keep the heat going direct to the bag. Which I also believe is a good thing too. That's the appeal to the dDave & SSV combo for me. Hot vapor rising unrestricted into the bag. Still, I am glad that EQ is coming up with better 'after market' vaporware. If you getting white pillows at say under 200c, then this might be the fuss free solution.:peace:

At first I had the same idea, so I took the 18mm male-male adapter from my D020 and used it as an adapter for a bag. It's pretty clever, the bag inflates going up like a Volcano, and you just plug that 18mm end on a water tool to empty the bag.

CC7NqCd.jpg

This turned out to be a failure. I can only make assumptions why, but the taste was awful, throat tearing, causing dry cough even if we emptied the bag through a water tool with a lot of diffusion. It really did not worked well at all, and I reverted to using the regular short vinyl tube with the glass mouthpiece until I got the all glass set, which we spent the evening enjoying quite a lot. If you have a 18mm male-male adapter handy you could replicate the experiment, but I think it needs a way to add restriction so it maintains proper airflow (not too high).

Why you would rather have the heat in the bag? I tried the first bag at 175C and the mouthpiece stayed at room temperature. The smoothness reached another level.
