Yah that's ridiculous!
What is the "SSV mod" you mention in your signature?
This post should have all information you need.

OK I have some complaining to do but wil try and keep it short and with as little whinning as I can! No promises!
Rewind to last year; I purchased a new Solo and it turned out to be faultly. To claim warranty I had to ship it back to the online store I bought it from and it was replaced. I was a little upset that I had to pay the one way shipping charges on a new unit but eventually tucked that experience away in the nether regions of my brain.
Despite my slight distaste for Arizer and my first experience with them, I purchased an Arizer Extreme Q about 6 months later but had problems with the remote control not working properly. Basically it is almost unresponsive and the functioning of the heat + and - buttons is very poor! Yes I tried a new battery but to no avail!
I contacted Arizer directly as instructed by the online vendor I purchased the unit from and did receive several "trouble shooting" responses. One thing we did find out is that an Apple TV remote will change heat settings on the Q, well at least on mine.
Fast forward to the present; I mentioned several times to Arizer that if they sent me a new remote we could verify if it is the actual remote or the unit itself but they ignored my requests and instead sent me a bill for $25 for return shipping for the entire unit so they could trouble shoot it. This means I would still have to pay another $25 to ship it to them which would total $50 in shipping charges, for what could be just a faulty remote!! No I dont know anyone with the same machine or even a store around me that I could use for troubleshooting.
The remotes are about $15 online which means Arizer probably buys them for less than $2. I would even bet they have a box of perfectly functioning used remotes from failed units sitting somewhere in their warehouse and could ship me one for next to nothing! But that is just a guess.
Why would they go to all this trouble to have me ship the entire unit back instead of just sending me a new (or used) remote? My guess is money! My way might cost them $5-$10 to ship me a remote but their way costs them nothing for shipping! Yes I understand that a new remote might not fix the problem and that the unit may need to be replaced but why not try the cheap easy method first?! K.I.S.S (Keep it simple stupid).
I am of the belief they are just like every other company and make it too ridiculous to claim any warranty unless your unit is completely unserviceable. They too have calculators and a few guys proficient enough at math to figure out that most people wont spend the $50 shipping charges for what could be an inexpensive fix. Now I will have to go online and purchase another $15 remote to see if this solves my problem, this way the make another $15 off of me! I dont think it is particularily clever or cunning of Arizer to pull this scam as all of less than reputable companies practice the same tactics. I just hope by posting this it will expose Arizer's practices and if there are enough of these posts, maybe they'll have to come correct one day and support their customers better! (At least in this case)
There are a lot of choices out there Arizer and you were supposed to be a customer service friendly Canadian company...
I did mention that a new battery didn't work.I'm thinking that you need a new battery for your Extreme Q remote control
Just my thoughts
I did mention that a new battery didn't work.
No you didn't read that in my "book" or you wouldn't have recommended a new battery in your post. I also mentioned in my book that I will have to go online and purchase another remote for $15 but thanks for the recommendation again. Its under Warranty, I shouldn't have to lay down and go buy another anything...thats the purpose of a warranty...no?Yeah I read that in your book...I mean post. If the costs of shipping is that much just throw down 15$ on a ebay remote seller with A+ ratings. Sorry your have issues

Last post on this; just letting you all know that in my 2 experiences with warranty and Arizer, they don't pay shipping even when under warranty! I'm not saying all other companies do but it sure sucks when they don't!!IMO, if the problem is covered by the warranty and they can find what is wrong with it, the company for sure should pay for shipping both ways.
I just see it as their responsibility as long as the product has been used properly.
Hey @ExtremeLou, no problem...Wow man, i happened to habe that female adapter laying around doing absolutley nothing! U just changed my life haha. Can't wait to go home and try it and report back...ill post pics and everything might need your help! Gunna turn my EQ into a monster!
Hey dave since you seem to be the expert can i pick your brain about your vaping methods?
How long do you preheat?
How long do you then wait to take hits after putting bud on the heating element?
What temps do you use througout your session?
How long do you leave your unit on at a time?
(Im afraid i leave it on too lomg up to 3-4 hours sometimes.)
Do you use the fan when whipping?
Last question!
Do you have a favorite portable vape?
Thanks my dide none of my friends vape like me and i wanna see what everyones methods are!
Hey @ExtremeLou, no problem...
I preheat minimum of 5 minutes. "DDave" F/F adapter left on the tower to heat up. Nothing else.
Once I load the SSV Wand with herb, I start my session, no preheating the wand.
Daytime sessions are held between 190-200c, strain dependent, for a lighter uplifting effect.
Evening sessions from 200-235c, again strain dependent, but seeking the more sedative effects.
My unit gets powered on when I wake and stays that way until bedtime, sometimes 18+ hours.
I've never used the fan and don't do bags.
With the SSV setup, I can load the wand, insert in preheated tower/adapter, take a rip.... and if that happens to meet the needs of the moment, I put the loaded whip away and wait for next time of need.
If more questions, feel free...
Edit: forgot to mention my favorite portable, same company, the Solo!
On my Solo (M1C1),
Up to Level 4 = energetic, tingly, active (or edgy, dependent on strain)
Level 5 = I can just start to feel the CBD effect decently
Level 6-7 = heavy, pain relief, cramps, mellow and definitely takes any "edge" off the effects..
Yoo sorry to double post but i was wondering how everyone feels about the elbow pack method. All I hear are great reviews usig this methob but i dont love it. I get just a few nice hits then the bowl decreases in potency quickly. I look at the pack and its only burnt in the very middle...now i cant really mix the bud since its packed enough so it does not spill...i end up pouring it into the cyclone..why not just start in the cyclone? What am I missing here?
Awesome man! Yeah the Hebe gets the job done but the solo looks great...just ordered a pinnacle hydrotube from dhgate and the fact that the solo hooks right up to it and will be the size of a small bong has me sold!Hey Lou , I don't use the elbow pack method , i prefer just packing in the ddave adapter. Sometimes some herb gets sucked up into the elbow , i just feel it restricts air flow a drop for me. Some here love it so its really what you like best. I also have a titan hebe 2 , for under $50 i feel its great also. If you also on the fence about getting a solo , buy 1 , you cannot go wrong. I am looking into purchasing the new Arizer air portable , looks amazing also just a bit pricey. best of luck .

Does anyone have a problem with 185 C being the lowest temp? I start at 165 with my Q i love the light this vapor/non drowsy feeling
I want the air really bad but yeah the price is high but expected with a dope new vape...ill just wait (its nice to see such positive reviews though)
Appreciate the feedback on the elbowpack idk i just never saw the hype...the ddave adapter works great for me...just joined this forum and already got so much out of it!
@ExtremeLou, Glad to hear you're liking the performance gains! Finally received the screens that properly fit the DDave adapter... this shit is too nice....Arizer has to mimic the design in the next model...big ups in that brotha @DDave definitely enhanced my EQ sessions
I've done the sandwich and wax on cotton, works well. Just don't use more wax than your herb (or cotton) can absorb. Too much wax and it will melt and fall onto the heater.Got some fire new budz and wax...anyone have experience using both at the same time in the EQ? Maybe a sandwich?
What temp did you do?I've done the sanddwich and wax on cotton, works well. Just don't use more wax than your herb (or cotton) can absorb. Too much wax and it will melt and fall onto the heater.
