@OF, I live in an area with very hard water. Usually we use citric acid to clean the stone.
My F-bomb has stone deposits that don't want to come clean with citric acid.
Would the stuff you mentioned work here too?
BTW, I clean my solo stems in 96 % ethanol. Then I use the resulting liquid in an AVB tincture.
Just found it on amazon.
Depends what you mean by better. Is the air better solo or the same

And o-ring/gasket set up. What I meant is for whatever purpose you are using it for. Stealth for air, solo for everything else.I've never had a Solo but it's been reported here that, with the exception of the rechargeable battery of the AA and the difference in sizes, the Solo and AA designs are pretty much identical.
I have to agree, the hardest part to get clean. What I do sometimes is use a wooden qtip and break in half. Use the wood end dipping in ISO and scrapping away at the stained part. A slow process but gets it off without scratching the glass. Trick is to use something hard but not metal to avoid physically scratching the glass, creating weak spots.I'm pretty happy with my cleaning routine although the very bottom of the stem which is closest to contact with the heating element is charred black and seems impossible to clean. Is this stuff actually resin or just the glass getting charred (if thats possible)? Will PBW get it out?

The manual says to grind it coarsely, but I have yet to find the right consistency. I have tried everything from coarse to fine and the biggest issue seems to be with airflow. does anyone get issues when they push the stem all the way in it restricts the airflow, but when they pull it back slightly it seems fine again? I just wondered if this was normal for others.
How fine do you guys grind your material and do you push the stems all the way in?
With patients I can easily vape bud in either Solo or Air to the point my HA 2.2 can't get any more out. Have you tried that?

yes like of said the problem existed with the solo, the fix was that the rims of the stems for the solo werent perfectly flat and one end was raised a little more so when you pressed the stem all the way down it didnt make a perfect seal, the new stems for the air and i guess the newer solo stems are almost perfectly flat along the rim. youll see posts about rocking the stem to manipulate airflow (mostly in the solo thread), this is why. feel free to pull back a mm or so, thats probably what the problem is. i can get a session done a lot faster too if i use my glass with my solo, bigger water conditioned hits vs many smaller dry ones. heres my preferred grind sizeGot an Arizer Air a few months back, have only used it maybe 20 times since then. I have an Herbal Aire Elite, Herbal Aire H2.2 and a Volcano Medic. So I have 3 desktops to choose from which are effortless vaporizers.
I have yet to find the efficiency with the Air as I get with my plug ins. I think a lot of it comes down to the consistency of the grind. What worked for me when I first got my air and used to the stock stem was to add an enano basket screen to the bottom of the heating chamber.thanks for the response and the helpful picture. that is a little finer than I have been grinding my material - I have just been chopping it with scissors.
I primarily use a Santa Cruz Shredder, the 2" 2 piece one, and used it for above. If you don't have a grinder, you can chop with scissors and get it close-ish, vape that, and maybe a few hits in you can poke it back out and crumble it with your fingers to get it finer and keep vaping that. The cool thing though about the Solo/Air is that I can also just tear a piece off a nug, stick it in, and vape that too. It'll take a bit longer to get it vaped thoroughly but it is definitely possible as long as airflow isn't impeded too much. I also have a small coffee grinder that I use to grind up material for another vaporizer and if I get it down really really fine (sand-like or finer), once I pack it into the stem and take a hit it all glues itself together and turns into a puck and pretty much plugs the airflow up, so there is such thing as too fine of a grind. You didn't get an acrylic orange grinder with your Volcano? Assuming you got it new, all of their products come with a grinder.thanks for the response and the helpful picture. that is a little finer than I have been grinding my material - I have just been chopping it with scissors.
