Guys I have been offered a second have arizer air but is there anyway I can make sure it's the latest model that has battery level etc with it?

I have one love it! The battery is 18650 unprotected type at 2.2Ah. It's a nice vape my little cigar she is. I water plumb solo with mates when sub gets too much for them. AA is lovely indeed will easy match many a bong, use her plugged in for party night or it disappoints. Great pocket one this is! Tube for glass and meds one tube does all! No breakage in transit now too!

Not need battery meter! Just spare battery do 3-4 sessions a battery and it's safer for battery that way. I do 3 then swap! I don't rely on warrantee I have 4 batteries of 2.2ah unprotected type. The air has cutoff circuitry.

Hey Everyone,

I've been using the Air regularly for five months and would like to share some of my personal tips and experience for using the device. I find the all glass stem without the plastic tip to be the most satisfying. I find it works best when your lips are pressed against the opening as opposed to wrapping your whole mouth around it.

1. Grind - The weed gets baked more consistently than it would if it was just a solid chunk or chunks. The taste is more satisfying for longer. The device does do well with solid pieces, but in my experience it's not ideal.

2. Screens - Screens are a must if you are using ground up weed. When using a grinder, the material gets small enough to fit through holes of the stem that leads from the bowl and into your mouth. Use stainless-steel pipe screens. Get them slightly bigger than your stem's bowl. Do not trim them. Bend the outer edges until it's roughly the size of the bowl and stuff it in there (bended side toward the holes of the bowl) with the included packing tool. Makes sure it's in there tight and won't easily fall out.

We're not done yet. Take another screen and this time trim it slightly smaller than the size of the bowl. This screen will prevent your weed from full, direct contact with the heat of the oven. You'll be creating a "sandwich" in your bowl, with the two screens being your bread.

If you don't use screens you're going to have a bad time. Even with solid material, a screen is recommended for preventing full direct contact with the oven.

3. Temperature - This is tricky. I've vaporized roughly half a pound in this device so far. Different strains. I've found that the strain doesn't matter much when using my method.

My method:
1. Insert a loaded stem into your Air.
2. Select the "Green" setting and wait until it reaches temperature.
3. Take a soft, slow but quick pull to draw the vapor upward.
4. Wait 10-15 seconds to let the vapor build up and draw. When you draw make sure it's soft and slow.
5. Now after savoring that draw go ahead and take another. You know you want to.
6. Here's where it gets blasphemous, according to this thread. Set your temperature DOWN to pink. Continue to take hits until the device automatically shuts off.
7. Remove the stem. Using the scraper end of the packing tool, remove the screen and discard the top level of weed that was closest to the bottom of the oven. Stir and mix the remaining weed in the bowl slightly. Re-insert trimmed screen.
8. Insert your stem into the Air and set the temperature to green again. Taking a couple of soft, slow draws and setting the temperature back to pink again. When the vapor weakens set it back up to green again. Keep getting nicely toasted until the machine shuts off again.
9. Leave your stem in and set the device to green. Keep hitting it until there's no more vapor left.
10. Empty the contents of the stem while its hot to keep stems and screens cleaner, longer.

I know it may seem like a a lot of work, but I've gotten used to it. This method will:
a.) Make your weed last longer while expelling decent, thick clouds.
b.) Negate any unwanted awful taste by not continually roasting your weed at high temperatures (green, yellow and red.)

If you're looking for a quick high. Just crank it up to green and keep going. Set it and keep it at yellow for an even faster session. Red will just leave you with a "who farted?" look on your face. The denser the bud, the more heat it can withstand.

4. Battery - I use this device 5-10 times a day. One battery will last roughly 1.5 long sessions or 2-4 short sessions. Extra batteries are essential if you want to use this device more than twice a day away from home. I only use OEM batteries so I can't speak for the performance of aftermarket ones.

5. Cleaning - After a session while the stem is still warm, remove screens and scrape whatever you can off the glass stem. Fill the tube with alcohol and shake it up for a minute or two. Empty alcohol and scrape residue off under water. Rinse and scrape until clean. There are residue solutions on the market but alcohol works well and it's more cost-effective considering its many other uses.

Screens can be re-used by soaking them in alcohol for a couple of hours.

The oven can be cleaned using some alcohol and a cotton ball. Make sure to run the device without anything in it to burn away anything left behind.


I know some of this information has been mentioned already but some has not. Just sharing my personal experience with the device.

Spent the weekend in the woods and had a blast! The Air was along for the ride as well.

I found that 3 batteries worked well for the overnighter... But on the way home i would of liked a car charger as i had no more battery life... But i had my chillum as backup.

Still i think ill have to invest in a car charger now. We are going back out for 3 days in a couple weeks... And 3 batteries wont be enough.


Also ordered a custom buckeye burl stem from Ed :rockon: Cant wait to see how it turns out.

Happy?? Monday yall!

That should be easy/cheap to do if you order one of the USB cables various Members have reported as working and a USB auto adapter to plug it into. Easy to do for ten bucks, possible for five on EBay. Add a few dollars for a mains to USB supply and you're covered for charging when you have wall power as well?

Indeed, thought about it too. But i already have a nitecore d2 charger that i use for the Air and for other stuff, like flashlights, and they sell a car adapter for it for around $5. So i could charge 2 Air bats at a time this way and not have to plug the unit in, and can also charge various other batts too.

Hi OF! Can you tell what usb cables do work without cutting/fitting them? will it be fine to put such one in an apple wall charger and connect it to the Air?

Hi woodvillain! How long does your d2 take to charge your batts? I have the i4 and I think it takes quite a long time compared to the stock in-device charger... Usually I do 2 batts in the i4 at the same time - the third one afterwards, cause the mAh go from 500 to 375 IIRC. Think the d2 is even weaker, right?
The i4 comes with a car adapter - but I can't imagine how long it's gonna take to charge then... Guess it's gonna be a loooong ride needed?

Unfortunately I only found two that didn't need trimming a bit (but that's pretty easy to do with a razor blade or utility knife), one no longer available and the other way too expensive IMO. Trimming is easy, you slice down to the metal and pull the 'doughnut' off:

That's the factory cable at top, the EBay cable in the center as shipped, and the cut one on the bottom wiht the roach.

The good news is the apple charger works fine, at least mine does......

Yea those are nice while they last. If i could go a week or 2 without my Air, id send it to one of the guys that make my kydex knife sheaths. Have a kydex holster with leather belt loop made up. Would be sweet.. But im just not willing to go that long without it...

Im not sure about mAh and stuff like that. I never pay that much attention to the display. But i know it averages 4-5 hours to get a full charge. Definitely longer than the in-unit charger.

The benefit is i can do 2 at once while using the 3rd in the unit, and the wife already keeps the car running sometimes to play the radio, charge her phone or gps etc.. so letting the batteries charge at them times is no issue. I dont need a full charge to get a couple sessions in either, having 2 batteries 25% charged is better than no charge at all LOL

But you do make a great point about the charging times... I already bought the car adapter for the d2, but now im thinking i might go the route OF mentioned as well. An extra base covered.

It seems to have the best airflow out of all my stems, including a pvhes gong. I like the bowl, I have been placing one of the spare screens over a filled stem to keep anything from falling into the AA heater. Keeps everything nice and clean. Love the two tone, and build quality. Using it reminds me of my old folding wood Combustion pipe. It just feels good.

Between the easier airflow and the stainless steel bowl, there does seem to be a learning curve for draws. And as it has been with my other stems, I'm getting better with it each use. Tasty :)

There is one thing that I was indifferent about, and that is how easily it slides into the air. For loading and removing, it makes it much easier! When the unit is cold it does have a tighter fit. The reason why I bring this up is because I plan on keeping the stem connected to the air while I travel with it in my pocket. -- I was out taking photos at a beach park today with the air and stem. I put the air in my pocket with the stem and a MFLB battery cover to cap the stem hole (fits great). Everything stayed together just fine, even with me getting in strange positions. And just now, at home, removing the stem, it has a great feel to it, almost like its magnitized. (Is that weird? haha)
So, yeah... Seems like its just what I was hoping for!

The car charger I got from Arizer was very poorly made and fell apart. Doesn't work any more. Not worth $25! I know this has been discussed here before, but can someone post a link to one that would work? Or do you have to make your own?

Also appreciate the review!! Im waiting on one now and the positive feedback makes the wait more exciting!

That looks like a great area to unwind in to me too!! Id build a fire, throw my hammock up, and be in heaven. Pretty much what i did Saturday :tup:

We've been through this a week or less back. If you don't want to get into cutting and soldering your current connector on a different supply, dig back for a fresh link on Ebay posted by a member I of course don't recall to a two dollar cable that ends in a USB plug. Others are around, but this one doesn't need trimming while some others do.

From there you can simply plug the cable into your computer USB, use a 'car charger' or any mains powered USB charging jack (one amp or more, 5 Volts). Under ten bucks. Less if you only need the cable (have something USB to plug into.

Not positive but I think its a Granadillo, but two tone.

That place is great, its actually an old military fort. There are decaying bunkers and stuff.... Its awesome.

I would contact their support, they would be happy to help you out and let you know. They might be back ordered. I know my gong shipped separately from the air but it's awaiting shipment so it's not too far behind the air! :p

My air decided to crap out on me somehow. Loved that Damn thing. Sent into Randy to inspect. For some reason it just wouldn't hit. I tried with multiple herbs, batteries and compared to 2 other airs. The two others out performed mine every time. Everything just got wispy sooner. Wouldn't burn all the way. Most bowls didnt even last a whole ten minute session on mine.so I'm back on my eq for now and have been bumming my brothers air. Any suggestions for a backup similar to the air in portability and ease of maintenance.Was considering just another air but I'm open to change

I don't own an Air, just considering it as a future possibility. I'm wondering about battery maintenance when not in use. It's possible that I could go some time without using it - I can be kind of of and on. If you don't use it for say a month or two - what is the procedure with the battery and/or any extra batteries you own during the the month or two months that you don't use it. What if 6 months go by? Should you recharge it? Can you just leave it and charge it again when you finally decide to use it again? Should you remove the battery if you aren't using it for a while? Should you store the batteries in the fridge? How long are the batteries good for.....what's the longest that you can go without using them before they expire?

I'm a bit torn between the Grasshopper, Air, and E-Nano as a next vape. One of the things I like about the E-Nano you can put it in storage for months at a time and not have to worry about anything. It should work fine when you decide to plug it in and use it.
