Can't wait till you get "GAS", Dude!

Glass?

If so... Too expensive LOL 10-40 bucks for stems here and there is one thing, but hundreds a piece for nice glass is quite another!! Not that its not worth it for quality handmade glass... but my bills and other hobbies just dont leave enough money for that.

On the topic of GAS....

I have the below, the 60mm and 70mm stems that came stock with my Air.

For home use i'm thinking a much longer glass stem might be nice.

I didn't own one, but have seen pictures of the stock Solo stems and they seem longer?

Can anyone advise a really long one? 100mm + I guess.

Also, I saw above people stretching the O rings on the unit, is this a possibility when buying glass online?

The fit with the stock stems is great at the minute, I preheat for 30 secs or so then slot the stem in nice and easy and its tight as it needs to be.

Cheers :)

Even the beautiful ones at Joda glassworks aren't that much

I do agree with you, stock stems are also OK in my book. Especially the shortie.

Have some nose-y buggers where I live, the shortie makes it more under the radar.

BTW, I believe we are talking about SAS.

"GAS" is entirely another world, speaking volumes of $.
Not speaking Chinese. it's fun. Ya.

I'm going to order a vortex stem but I'm hoping it will still be in stock on 3/17 so I can get an extra battery as well. Hopefully PV keeps their word that the batteries are returning on that day. Anyone know how many mm long the normal vortex stem is?

whats the difference between long stems and short stems? is there better vapor in a short stem because it cools down less?

Yes, the Solo stem is a 120mm version of the one on the left in your photo.

Or, more accurately, the one in the photo is a 70mm version of the Solo? No 'chicken/egg thing' here, we know who came first and who's copying who......

Anyone else get really poor airflow with the two included stems? I've tried lifting them slightly out like was suggested. The draw is really hard and my material is heavily browned on the bottom (oven side) while still green on the top (mouth side). How tightly should I be packing the stems? I've tried loose and tight, neither seems to help.
Also, the stem that came with a mouthpiece seems to be too loose for the O ring. The "open" flap is also really loose and just kind of flops around sometimes...

The only stem i have to lift a little is my water adapter, the tighter you pack the more restriction there will be, i usually just push the stem into ground herb and twist, then push in with finger tip but only enough so herb wont touch the oven when inserted.

I also use a screen, lots of methods for screens here the way i do it is...cut screen to outer diameter of stem, slightly dome then put in so that there is a very slight gap between screen and the four holes in stem.

IMO this helps air flow more even through load and although the oven side of my load is always a little darker you really have to look to notice.

You can test the stem's/pack's airflow restriction before you put it in the Air. In my experience it is rarely the stem that is restricting the airflow. It seems to be the small airholes at the bottom of the stainless oven, the ones that get covered if you push the stem all the way in. Anybody try making em bigger?

Put 2 screens in the heating chamber, this will act as lifting your stem up and not covering the holes.

After closer inspection of my stems i have noticed the two that came with my air the end that goes into the oven is not flat like my water adapter (if i stand them mouthpiece up they lean slightly to one side) , this would explain why that is the only one i have to lift as the other two even when inserted only touch the oven with a small part (keeping the oven holes clear:D)

If the screens are larger than the diameter of the stem they will prevent the stem from being fully inserted and covering the air holes. You would think it would be more restrictive than simply pulling the stem out a fraction of an inch, but probably not significantly, and if you are mostly using the Air inverted on a glass piece it might be a nuisance to keep maintaining the gap manually.

Almost there...
Thanks to @biohacker i am test driving a brand new Air!!
Initial thoughts are, I like it!
Start on blue and get some awesome flavour and nice blue clouds.
Work the way through all the temps and the flavour is pretty good!
I compare the flavour at higher temps to be almost identical to the Crafty, not bad at all!
The plastic mouthpiece got quite hot at red and i could feel my lips tingling from the heat, bearable but not for consistent high temp vaping.

I like that you can do whole nugs or ground bud!
Ground bud came out quite a bit darker for me that when i used unbroken nugs.

I was not very impressed by the rechargeable/removable battery situation but now that i have an actual unit i can see why it makes sense!
A slimmed down Solo that you can change the battery!
I also love that you don't have to remove the battery for charging, i hated this about the Flashvape.
And a bonus is pass through charging!

I give the Air a big:tup:
