@akwardsauce I actually am very used to taking my solo out on the town so I expect to be delighted with the air.

I live in colder climate so usually can have a hoodie on, so the solo is easily concealable in a hoodie pocket. I keep the bent stem attached (my favorite of the two so it works well anyway) and that fits in a jacket pocket fine.

I keep a Jyarz of preground and pack by scooping the stem into the jar. I can do it quickly, turn on solo, throw it in my pocket and do last remembered temp while it heats and take it out to hit.

Works fine for me also I can't wait to try a air stem on a solo!

edit: I dump brown when i'm out on the go. i dont like to carry what i don't need. i used to stealth combust for so many years before i even started vaping, that even a solo is discrete enough for me... just not pocket size

Yea I think I'm going to order one with an extra battery as well, though ideally the external charger would be available today too...
Another reason: I also just noticed my Solo is really starting to badly chip now, is this covered for a replacement?

@akwardsauce For my going out on the town, the T1 served me well for quite some time, even once I got my Solo. But weak battery life makes it annoying to have to carry so many spares (I also used two film canisters, one for green and one for brown). However more recently my T1 has become a desktop, and now my go to night-out portable is the Indica. No instant heat but it's tiny and can pack a lot. I actually now have two which is probably the best system of all lol... I've also had a lot of luck with the cheap Chinese vapes out and about, though they can be unreliable longevity wise. My Elevape should also work really well for this once its lid is upgraded, and i think the Alfa might be a good option now as well.

However now it seems the Air could work quite well for me too, and i guess this week I will know for sure!

Hmm this and the dragonfly are both $200 for black friday... does anyone have both to comment on vapor flavor?

Well if your not shy; I find that with this particular shape of object you can usually get away with a little giggle and wink and saying "Do you really want to know?"

hahaha no not shy at all...the arizer air's small size doesn't do me justice (i need all the mental-placebo action that i can get)...

Wax pen. The end.

ya i have yet to commit to the wax realm...only concentrates i do are the ones i make myself (i don't belong to clubs or anything) about once a year from my post vape (and have made butter for edibles instead the last time)...i also worry about my friends who have switched over to concentrates. their tolerance & purchasing habits have skyrocketed because it becomes TOO easy & TOO convenient - they don't even realize how often they reach for it. i also like the freshness of dry stuff...after trying a pen that my friends have kept on them for a few days, i feel disappointed in the flavor & i can just feel all that dense re-re-re-vaped stuff coat my pharynx/larynx/lungs (maybe its in my head but it feels like it automatically condenses as soon as i inhale it despite our layers of mucous to prevent this type of stuff - btw, they tend to use a CO2 extract around these parts). I'm sure its different with fresh cartridges, though...but they don't want to go back to dry stuff...i think they use a "G-pen" but I'm not sure if thats even a company or not...

:myday:
When I whip out my Solo in public, so to speak, nobody in L.A. even blinks.

i don't know if thats sad or not (j/k)...keep it in your pants, pappy! but yeah, i have walked the dog in LA and smell burning herb from the sidewalk sometimes (coming from inside homes)! only way to get looked at in LA is to be a girl that is an 11/10...well, i even look at the 6.5s...

when i got the solo (used, from a local FC-er), i got it with a whole bunch of accessories...i sadly lost the wooden Eds TnT stem, but there are these really short stems out there with a 14mm on one end & just an open tube (no glass base with 4 holes). you kind of try to balance a screen to act as the base and its the absolute best airflow (since only the solo heater, screen, & herb are the obstructions). i highly recommend buying something from an FC-er if you get the chance (and they are trusted enough) because you will get a GREAT deal with probably lots of extras & very precise instructions on the best way to use it. i have about 9 different solo stems and use 2...the rest are backups...basically all for free. but whatever the stem I'm talking about is called, i recommend that to anyone & it should be great on the air too (assuming it doesn't cool it down too much - but that can be fixed by simple breath control)...

but i haven't even tried to use the stock stems (bent or straight)...they look like a huge pain compared to my setup...

ya i remember considering that one (its a few yrs old, right?)...i can't remember what, but something put me off of it...i remember talking myself out of a great deal at a certain point. i think i didn't like the proprietary batteries but I'm willing to forgo that concern for the air since it can be used while charging. but yes, the T1 is the perfect form-factor for stealth dry-herb vaping on the go. i also am having a flashback about something about the company discontinuing that model for some reason (was it because of the michael "cera"?)

some travel pack pics since everyone likes looking at pics...

sorry, to not go too off topic, i posted my pics here: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/arizer-solo.3833/page-1245#post-697724

can anyone do a comparison of the AIR vs SOLO?

is the main con the battery life and thats it? if you guys knew what you knew and didn't have either device, which one would you buy and why?

thanks!

Concentrates can mess with tolerance so it depends on how much you use, but they do work incredibly well when you need to be discrete. It sounds like they are using O-Pens with the disposable C02 oil carts. That was my first pen years ago. Their CO2 oil almost never tasted good but it was very easy. At times too convenient as you say; which is why I don't do much concentrates at home. The beauty of the wax pen is how easy it is to load and go, but I definitely understand the negatives.

Sent a couple questions to arizer about the Chargers and just got a response

"The official Arizer Air Dual Battery Charger to charge your batteries externally and an Arizer Air Car Charger will be available in the coming weeks. Charging the battery takes 3-3.5 hours from empty to full, and there is no battery memory effect.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask."

I think this vape looks great so far. I just recently got into vaping using portables. A few things i am def. interested in . Using there cover/condom does not look like the greatest idea. It looks like it covers the holes for battery venting and that can be bad if a battery gets hot. My biggest concern is if we can use standard 18650 batteries and if they need to be protected or not. I guess only time will tell.

That sure sounds like a step backwards from Solo. Longer recharge times to get fewer sessions per recharge? I suspect serious users are going to migrate to external charging and several batteries?

Part of the compromises, of course.

I hope some more users receive theirs today, so they can post their thoughts. A lot of us stragglers itching to bite on the last day (I think) of the sale.

Stay charged, my friends
Hello FC! This is my very first post. I've been a vaper since roughly 2008-09 when I purchased the Arizer Extreme Q tower. A note related to the company - my Q crapped out on me just outside of the warranty period. The company treated me extremely well and fairly and I ended up wih a new unit for a nominal charge. That said, since getting a Solo, the Q has just sat around collecting dust. Awesome Canadian company based only about 45 minutes drive from my home in Ontario.

And now onto the Air - I share the community's excitement about his product. I almost pulled the trigger on it, but I can't decide - Silver or Black?

Subjective I know but curious what others like better...

And it's nice to have stumbled upon this lively community!

I wasn't in to concentrates back then, but all I know is I recently got into prefilled carts for a 501 pen from a SF bay area dispensary. Absolute Extracts offers many different C02 only strains with no solvents or ejuice junk - the taste is amazing and the carts seem bulletproof. A short 2 second button pulse gives good clouds. And they sell a c02 prefilled cart from have another manufacturer which is even tastier with no added ingredients. Funny thing is that the carts look very much like each other with small differences - the carts must be sourced elsewhere.

can anyone do a comparison of the AIR vs SOLO?

is the main con the battery life and thats it? if you guys knew what you knew and didn't have either device, which one would you buy and why?

thanks!

Here's the way I see it:

Solo:
- Large battery life, especially with high capacity batteries
- Option to eliminate battery using PA
- Slightly faster draw speed in later models
- Similar, if not same vapor production as the air, maybe a little more "cloud factor" at highest temp.

Air:
- Super light and pocketable, discreet
- Option to hot swap batteries with ease
- Stands while charging!

If I lost all my vapes and had to start over again, I would have a hard time deciding between the two. I do most of my vaping at home; but I think that is because I was never able to find a truly portable vape that checked all the boxes. If you vape at home primarily, I'd go Solo. If you ever want to go anywhere with your vape, get the Air. It's pretty much as simple as that.

The Air uses a high-drain 18650 cell that has been made specificallyfor use with the Arizer Air. The use of counterfeit and/or inferior-quality lithium batteries can cause internal shorts leading to fires and/or explosions which can result in property damage and/or personal injury. The use of third partybatteries could greatly reduce run time/output performance, damage your Arizer Air, constitute a safety hazard and voids all warranties. If you have any

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask!Best Regards,
Amy

I respect Arizer but I'm not going to let them feed us a line. This is not true, and if it was it would be the fault of Arizer for failing to implement an industry standard protection circuit into their vape. The battery that was sent to me is not specifically made for the Air - it is made by BAK battery Co, is a commodity cell and I could make a purchase for 1000 of them quite literally right now.

Now I can understand why they are discouraging this. If they publicly okay third party batteries they would have to deal with situations where uninformed people get bad cells or try to use the wrong kinds of batteries in the unit. They have the right to recommend that users do not use Third Party batteries in the Air. But it would be nice if they didn't insult our intelligence while they did it. The vape has a protection circuit, and a quick google search was all I needed to find the source of the cell. The cell, by the way is 2250mAh, 3.3 - 4.2v and has a discharge current of ~5A.

Can you do a quick comparison of the weight of each? Would you say the Air is half the weight of the Solo?

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Damn... was hoping to see a usage vid (a visual of how the indicators work, draw, cloud, size in hand, etc), by now 'anywhere' online, but my search comes up empty.

Unless one pops up today I'll just have to wait it out, pay more, or wait even further till the price drop games begin at vendors :(
