I'm having an issue with my Air and figured you guys might know what to do.

Even with a fully charged battery, my unit seems to have trouble staying on for the whole 10 minutes.

As it heats up, the blue light rapidly flickers, something I had never noticed before.

And just about when it should be fully heated, it shuts off.

I can kind of brute force use it by turning it on, taking a hit, rinse, repeat.

I just bought 2 new batteries because I thought my old one "died" when this happened last time.

Any tips would be appreciated, hoping I don't have to RMA.

bummer...my EdsTnT Atomic Stem broke today......only got to use it a hand full of times.

I was worried it was way too thin glass.....it broke just from pushing in the screen with my finger, not hard at all.

Reading a bit more online on my issue, it seems this could be an issue with:

A: messed up solder / wire

B: The heat sensor being caked with resin, interfering it's normal operation.

I might try to dig inside and clean off the resin, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Does anyone have teardown pics? I know I saw them at some point but now I can't find them.

If you do a search you'll find @OF to have pulled things apart enough to see how to give things a good clean. I'd do it for you but I'm too lazy. Could be crumbs and whatnot clogging things up. I'd not fear asking the folks you bought it from. They may have a clue too.

I pulled out the AA for the first time in a while a week or so ago and enjoyed the experience. Enough so to know I'll be picking up the new one, with high expectations.

@debaserrrrr STOP do not take the air apart unless you are very skilled with electronics. Did you try cleaning the battery contacts?

Excellent advice, IMO on the first part. Even if you don't mind 'killing' the warranty your chances of finding something mechanical you can deal with are slightly better than your chances of getting it back together without further problems IMO. And I've been there. Your call, but IMO sound advice does not include taking it apart.

I'd be very careful with the 'cleaning the contacts' idea as well. Good advice for fixing flashlights and such, but here we have GOLD PLATED contacts specifically to remove contact problems from the potential mix. Gold is the idea material for this (excellent conductor, not corrosive, very soft) which is why it's used extensively in high tech electronics. But, it's very very thin. If you scratch it and 'break the surface' Oxygen and water vapor will make it though the breech and eat the base material out from the inside, like dry rot in your house. Best avoided, don't touch the Gold part is my advice here.

Air is very sensitive to battery contact, using any other 18650 is asking for trouble IMO. Even 'better ones I found on the web'. Airzer isn't stupid or incompetent. If a better, cheaper 'battery' was available they'd surely use it? I've experimented a bit with this, some cells (the real name for what we mistakenly call 'batteries') are just enough larger to bind up slightly in the tube so they can lose contact as things move (return spring not strong enough to overcome it). Some were enough shorter to cause resets if you bumped it hard.

My advice is 'stick with the factory 18650s exclusively, be careful of the contacts. Including the spring loaded pin that makes contact with the end cap PCB......I had one fail along the way. Fortunately I had one I could take out of my scrap unit, the one I broke taking apart......

If it defies you, send it in. Let the experts with the tools and parts do it, they know what they're doing? If you cleverly bought from Randy at PIU this is so much easier it becomes a 'no brainer'.

Regards to all.

My backup vape is a glass piece :(

Rip vapor, but I already got a free shipping label from PIU!

Unfortunate. One should have backups for mission critical gear...... Combustion is not an acceptable alternative, of course, so you need a better option 'in place' before it's needed (obvious at this POT here, of course).

I suggest a lower cost vape, something reliable (good reputation) and fun to use in it's own right (so it won't be ignored). Perhaps a nice VG? Or MFLB? Or (a personal favorite), VapMan. I suggest you check out the latter, it's a very excellent vape with a very strong following. Able to do some mighty impressive work with a pinch of herb or a bit of concentrate. And it's fun to use.

Yes....always have a back up vape ready to go. Highly important. I have a DynaVap as my backup and also as my....."I need to get really really ripped" unit. For the cost...you can not go wrong with a vapcap.

That said......I am having a hard time waiting for the Air2.......

Yeah, my air is my back up to my vapcap. Mainly when I don't wanna get caught hearing something with a torch. Or driving.

Air2 will be nice though!

I dab. A lot.
Wow. I already have an Air but MAN does that thing look slick. I was considering getting a solo ii because of the digital screen but if the Air ii has the same batteries as the Air then I'm definitely interested in the Air ii over the solo ii.
Oh baby.........NICE!

Going from the air1 to a air 2....I'm hoping to get a cleaner air-path with less restriction, better battery life if possible, and more control over temps and session duration.

Holy stink bomb! Mystic blue is $50 more dollars than black. $289? I payed $199 for my Solo2 in mystic blue from PoV and at that time both colors were the same price.

Wow, i can't believe the Air 2 is available to purchase on Arizers website, i will probably wait until PIU stocks them and see if i can't get a discount considering as of now its the same price as a new Solo 2.

You're right the solo 2 is still same price but not the brand new Arizer Air 2. It could just be an error since the page was just launched.

Okay the price of the black one went from 239 up to 289. Was an error on their part. They are both 289 now.

Both shot 239 usd for me. The second time I looked the blue was more expensive. I'm getting confused. 239 is a yes but a stretch, 289 is a no from me.
