Ok so I've been reading a lot of people comment on the batteries, but I'm still trying to understand something. From what I've read, people say you need "high discharge" 18650 batteries, but what does that mean exactly? I mean, 'high' is a relative term. What amperage? Also, what are the specs on the stock AA battery (discharge rate, mah, etc)? Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer my questions!

Who is Randy? :D

So should i avoid buying directly from the manufacturer because it costs more to me living in eastern eu?

Thank you for the info

Thank you! i'll see namastevapes now! I see there are present in germany too its closer to mee.

Namaste vapes is a good reseller?

Newer heard abaut Namastevapes before, but to mee it seems like i should trust in Namastevapes, no?

Had somebody else expeience with this store before?
I see the are present in USA, UK, and also in Germany witch is the most closest country to me.
I dont speak german so i visited the UK store and on the information about what is included with the AA they say: ...
  • 1 x Battery Charger (Local Plug always included - based on shipping location
Any suggestion in the Namastevapes question?
My EQ is waiting his little brother anxiously hehe :dog:
Just wanted to post that I bought my Air from Namaste in the UK and their service was excellent. Delivery was quick as well and have to say I love the product! If you contact them ask for Kory he was very helpful with me in getting the order processed

Who paid $260 for an AA?!? PIU to the rescue, Randy has them for $170, jackpot!.

I paid $260... :/ money well spent though! The amount of herb combustion takes by comparison is ridiculous! the Canadian dollar is pretty weak against the US dollar atm, and IIRC Arizer is based out of Canada. Pretty close to Toronto, actually? So basically, everyone with a good exchange rate vs the CAN dollar will be pretty pleased at the pricing :)

Actually such circuitry is very much in play, which is why charging random batteries is potentially a problem.

...snip...

Bottom line is the maker forbids it on safety reasons (probably more for battery safety than yours or mine) and it violates the warranty, which is extremely important to some. At a minimum I think those 2 cautions should accompany any advice to use random batteries? "I did it and it was just fine" doesn't always fully cover things. I know guys that date married women and some who smoke cigarettes...

yeah, sorry if that was misleading :/ i think i misunderstood and thought the takeaway was "it's ok to drain 18650s in the Air, but charging should be done with extreme caution." so both charging and draining are a bit iffy?

I'm not gonna use any batteries other than the Arizer ones, personally. They're not particularly expensive. I'm sure it's a nice source of profit for them (accessories usually are for any company -- razor blade business model is very profitable).

I laughed really hard re: poor decisions. Ugh, my friends smoke cigarettes and I'm getting tired of rolling j's for them since it burns through my stash that much quicker... Guess I'll have to get a Pax or similar session vape soon? Air is fantastic and I love it dearly, but I find it's best as a solo affair. (sorry, couldn't resist ;) )

Randy is the customer service representative for Puffitup. He does an excellent job of helping out the customer. It's an online vaporizer store and one of the sponsor on FC website. Right now Puffitup has the Air for $170. Code word: Air. Puffitup has free shipping to you and free shipping back if you need to use your warranty.

Best service around. I don't know how they handle international shipping you would need to call and ask or shoot an email.

I can't stress this enough, you new folks do some reading up on the Air. Many of the questions are asked several times, just skip over that part.

Ok I send a mail to Arizer to know an official reseller because I can't explain why it's cheaper on puffitup.com (170$), vaporisateur.net (who claims to be the official reseller for 4 years in France, 239€), namastevapesfrance.com (205€ !!!!!!!!!), official arizer website 259.99$...
I don't want to buy a fake AA....

A misnomer in many cases, we need to support four Amps, not what I consider high current, though some might.

Sorry, we don't know the specs of the battery used. Or we'd know how to deal with it, right?

Yeah, that's my take as well right now. There's the maker's warning and some 'abnormal use levels' or at least indications. IMO once someone actually reports on the factory charger we might find out a lot more. For now, I agree. It's an extra ten bucks for the factory battery, a known good performer and safe all around. Just how many did you plan to buy? Past a certain point, getting one of those 'cellphone charge bank' things makes more sense to me than a pocket full of batteries?

FWIW I too paid list price for the second one (the BF sale having closed). For a Christmas present for the Brother in Law. I've been thinking of a Solo for him, even had a very nice open box one from PIU ready to go, but the Air so fitted him, much better than Solo ever would....... I sure don't regret the extra $60, as it turned out to be a near ideal match, he's still stoked. I think I have a new home for the Solo lined up through a friend, so all's well there too.

IMO the right price is highly subjective sometimes. I'm very satisfied and would do it again under the same conditions. I'm sure not going to let him have mine until the price comes down......

That helps, thanks! And yeah I suppose you're right about the specs lol. I just didn't see anyone talking about stock specs so I had to ask. ;)

Any recommendations on where I should buy batteries and/or a dual charger (aside for Arizer's official store)?

Hi @HA1 just commented that I did buy from Namaste Vapes in the UK everything was smooth don't forget with the US prices posted you have to pay international shipping and import duty so not as cheap as it seems I'd rather buy from someone in the UK or EU so no hidden taxes etc.

Lots of stuff about it earlier in the thread, but that's the gist I think.

PIU is a popular vendor around here, strong supporter of the forum, super service, price matches. You'll find their link at the bottom of many forum pages. http://www.puffitup.com/

Yes I know for int shipping and import taxes but with delivery cost it's 170€ !!!! and small package like that can go through customs....or not ;-)
170€ but long delivery and maybe import taxes or 205€ in Namaste vapes France....
The problem with namaste vapes is I contact Ploom to know if it was official reseller of the Pax and they said it's not....so How to trust and be sure...

Well I only bought an Air from them but what I can tell you is that Pax does not sell their product outside of the US so its not that they are unauthorized because nobody is! They have an office in the US as well so they obviously are buying them in the US and importing them to UK and EU - gotta say though I do have a Pax and just bought the Air and for the price the Air is the way to go!

Actually, Randy is PuffItUp. Started in his studio apt in San Jose a few years back. Used to sneak pallets of stuff into his apt in the middle of the night to avoid the landlord. Now up near Lake Tahoe, NV with 5 employees and still the best service in the business.

:peace:

I looked at PIU and unfortunately they don't really have much. They carry the battery but no charger, and the battery is the same price as Arizer's. I'll keep looking, thanks anyhow!

Just checking in with my S/N A1Z0... bought during the BF sale

No battery indicator for me. Just the flash then straight to the blue idle light until you pick your temp setting. Mine came with a short aroma tube with mouthpiece, a slightly longer one with a mouthpiece, and a longer still all glass with no mouthpiece.

I've been using the double screen method at home for the last few weeks and do think this is the optimal way (for now!) to use the air. It can be a bit of a pain to futz with the screens when on the go depending on how stealthy you need to be when reloading your stems. I often go without a screen when out of the house.

I haven't even fired up my DBV (my only other vape) since I got this lil guy in early December

Noticed Arizer's website mentioned they'd be offering more Air accessories & now their lethal SS stir tool/dagger is available.

C'mon Arizer, gimme an option to buy a replacement short stem!
Looks like it is a new version of the stirring tool, seems like they swapped out that needle sharp point for a more logical scoop shape

I'd suggest you contact 'the man' (Randy) there, tell him what you're looking for, I bet he takes care of you. This is rapidly evolving. If he doesn't have car chargers, stand alone battery chargers, stems and so on he will soon for sure. You could be first on the list......

As Air gets into the market in the coming months I'm sure all kinds of sources will open up.
