I've submitted my Air to a licensed dealer and repairman, but he hasn't gotten word back from the Higher Ups about how to address this problem...

Wonder if @OF or anybody has come up with a solution to this...

Sorry if this has been covered already. If it has, would you kindly post a link to the appropriate post ?

Welcome back, you'll note we didn't leave your room just the way you left it.....sorry about that, Ataxian said you weren't coming back and we should divide up your stuff.......

I don't recall your post (and if Air is 1.5 YO and you've been here 2 years.....) or any other mention of this but those sorts of pins (sometimes called 'pogo sticks') are generally very reliable. The two normal failures are contamination and physical damage (bent or dented).

If the pin got glued in by junk (as happens but not often in so protected a place) I'd suggest solvent (like ISO) followed by 'teasing' the pin with a needle. Try to rotate it and rock it from side to side to free it so the spring can push it up again. Failing that I'd then try a light oil.

Being out of round can sometimes be fixed. Again try to wiggle it w here it is, rotating if possible.

Otherwise it's due for replacement, easy enough to do but you need to crack the unit and have that exact pogo stick on hand. "Sorry, Lady, it's gotta go to the shop". I haven't said that in a LOT of years, back in the days of tube TVs you had serviced in your living room...........

Hey guys!

For everyone who chooses to use the black tipped Air stem as a GONG because it is so much less expensive than a dedicated Gong:

Puffitup just sent me an email with a code to get a water adapter (real GONG) for $10.

Don't think the mods would like me to post the code here, but PM me or email PIU for code.

You're the man man! I don't use my AA through water as often as I used to but what the hey! Thanks!

My Air that was previously replaced under Warranty has now developed a fault. The bottom light flickers a lot when heating and stops working a few minutes into a session. I'm not sure it's getting to full heat either.

Has anyone else experienced this particular fault before? I was wondering if there's anything I can try to help remedy the problem.

I expect I will probably have to attempt to return it to Arizer support again, assuming they will still fix it for me once more. I am still within the two year purchase period, and it's less than a year since I got the replacement unit so I'm hopeful they will help. I'm glad I brought a spare Air, it's proved necessary due to the reliability issues I've experienced. I feel a bit vulnerable with only the one Air to use now, as my remaining working unit is almost a year old, so although I'm a light user I expect a failure some time soon based on my experiences. It's probably about time I looked for a more reliable backup vape, just in case.
Ive had this happen on two prior Airs that were sent back for warranty repair. They had me send my device to a authorized repair tech in the usa. Got it back in short time. Regarding taste. i am amazed how well the taste is on white and green. With the right cured material the air, sipping on the air is just as enjoyable as my other high end devices when it comes to taste. Heck sometimes i prefer it more. Really does shine on low temp

I've had my Air about a week, so far i'm loving it. I really enjoy using the tipped stem with my pinnacle water tool, orange then finish on red, that gets me in a real nice zone. But the other short stem i def like a little more, it provides great flavor. If your bud is well cured level green gives you a great mix of flavor and vapor density. Overall this thing is a great buy, it feels really solid and well made, and the silicone sleeve is perfect if sharing with friends who have butter fingers, it really provides nice gripping, plus allows your battery to save a bit of juice to warm up the start of a session.

I'm not too impressed with the PIU gong. The stock plastic tip works just as good if not better

I agree, and (hope) I've said as much here (and on the Solo thread). It's OK I think, but not on par with the PVHES version or the factory plastic top stem.

I also sometimes push an inch or so of 1/2 ID tube over the end and plug it into an 18mm GonG fitting, it seems a bit better sealed and stable to me?

And there are really lame one 'on the web' from DHGate and the usual suspects. I've tried two types......stay away. Gather your loved ones, lock the door, turn off the lights until they're well past.....

I know my breakage and experience about GonG's, STEM's & GLASS

My all time favorite is the PHVES GonG's from www.planetvapes.com
Options are like Assholes = everyone's got one!

After four months I'm still loving my first portable vape. Still running it with the stock stem. I've bought a spare battery. I want a couple extra stems though...prepacking is useful.

What are your favorite aftermarket stems? I like glass...I was thinking of getting 2 more stock plastic tip stems.

Yeah, i'm glad i grabbed an extra battery with my order, cuz its great having 1 charged and ready to pop right in when needed, i'm already considering getting another battery. I am really surprised at how efficient the lower temps are on the dial, u could sit and pull 2 sessions worth of draws at level white if u wanted to, i prefer green over all other temps. I always preferred level 4 on the Solo which is similar. Btw great profile name, Burgundy is awesome!

I picked up three batteries with my original purchase over a year ago it has worked out well. Two would be too few for my use of the AA, which is almost daily. And right with you on the efficiency thing. I get two 'sessions' out of a single stem typically. Several nice hits on blue then later a few more on white or green. Keeps me going. Don't have a need for another portable. This one has me covered.

At the beginning I was a big fan of the longer stem, which provides really nice flavor. But since transitioning to the shorter one, I find that one to be much more functional. Mine provides a significantly easier draw while still providing nice flavor at low temps. One of my longer stems fits so snugly that I avoid using it. I'll pick up a couple more short ones one of these days in the hope that the easier draw is by design and not random.

I often find myself wondering if Arizer will modify the AA design with future runs. Or come up with another vape that splits the size difference between the AA and Solo?

They did some earlier on like the battery meter. There could be some more minor changes maybe? Does not need any, If its working fine leave it alone.

*-Maybe a titanium heating bowl ?
Much more inert material than stainless steel...

*-Or an usb port and a downloadable freeware app ,
that allows for some "vaporizing profile mods " ... ?
I.e. I'd love to be able to "mod" the blue setting ( #1 ) from 10 ' @ 180°C ,
into something like 5 ' @ 180°C and then 5 more minutes at 185°C ...
Samewise turn the white/pink setting into : 5'@190° ,3'@195°C and 2'@ 197°C ...

*-Stainless steel or even titanium case /body (as a "Special or Limited Edition " ) ?
( for users like myself ,who do not use the provided wall charger but
instead keep on changing batteries ,like ten times per day ...
I know for sure that I would appreciate more durable threads at the battery cap section ...
Aluminium is nice and cool ,but threads will not last long ,
if the batt. cap is unscrewed and screwed back on about ten times a day ,every day ... )

Just some ideas ...
Cheers.

Hmm I just noticed the outer purple coating on my battery is starting to crack. Is that bad?

It's not good...... Physical damage or overheating (since it shrinks with heat.....), or a combination of both, is the usual cause. While it's probably not a big problem in Air, should that battery find it's way in to some places it could be a HUGE problem. There's no limit built into the battery, it can easily cause fires or even explosions in the wrong conditions. Not worth messing with IMO. Replace the cover or scrap it (discharged).

Where are you? If in the US, PM me your address I'll mail you a couple of replacements. Easy enough to shrink over the stove or with a lighter (keep moving, it will melt.....). With a couple tries I'm sure you'll sort it out.

Another potential problem is the jacket getting folded over and wedging the battery in the hole.....I've seen that one as well. It too is best avoided I think.

Thanks for the info. That's a bummer but I'm not taking any chances so I'll toss it.

I've been keeping it in the car while at work and it's been hot lately. I'll need to find some shade.

Probably the best call. For ten bucks you can play it safe. Besides baking it didn't help it's lifespan........

You know those little 'solid state refrigerator/ice box' things? The ones that barely hold a six pack but run on the car power? We need a really bitty one of those.....just big enough for a couple batteries and some stash.....

I have not been using my Air much but I asked a mate who is a cabinetmaker to make me a Air stand I designed & he dropped it off last night. It is a beautiful piece of American Oak & he left it unfinished so I can either oil or stain it to my liking. Whilst he did not charge me for it I did give him a nice fat nug for his trouble.

All this time later, I'm still an Arizer fangirl!

I guess we won't waste any effort trying to talk you out of it then.......

I think maybe you should drop in once in a while, you're sure not alone in that fan thing.

Edit: I forgot to warn you, trust the Lady on stem and strain advice, and never let Ataxian near any of your glass......in case you don't already know.....

Lots of good stuff on the Solo thread too. In the dark it's dark it's hard to tell the difference (you know what I mean?).

Lol I'm to worried with if I get stoped/searched to carry mine around :/

Naw, tell 'em 'it's a Goddamn flashlight of some sort, I think the bulb is missing'.

By then he'll have more fingerprints on it than you have........

@Faolan

While it may take some convincing in the summer heat, it is a great little "hand warmer" HEATER
for those of us with "extreme Raynauld's syndrome", in the cold months.

Just don't carry a loaded stem near your "hand warmer".

PS MY Haze charger, it seems, charges 2x of the Air's 18650 batts at a time; but with possible issues with repeated cycles of opening/closing the Aluminium cover, it might be best to charge the Air as designed..... ( why break something if it ain't broke, Bubba )
