Since battery capacity limits the Air to 4 full sessions I wonder if a charge would produce 4 full sessions @ 12 minutes also? If so an algorithm change might be in order. OTOH the Air seems to bake the herb as thoroughly in 10 minutes as the Solo does in 12. Which validates my premise that heat in more condensed on the Air.
Really? I get less through extraction with the air. Luckily dome screen seems to help (otherwise bottom layer doesnt get as well baked). At the highest temperature solo extracts more than the air as well. Its not a huge difference but noticeable

That should not significantly harm the battery. At most a minor 'hit' on capacity/lifetime. Nothing fatal.

From the sounds of it, you didn't really recharge it. I suspect you'll have a normal (two plus hour) charging session this evening.

Good luck.

thank you! Got my package from arizer today but only received and was charged for one battery...thought I ordered two? I currently have both the new red and the older pale purple batteries both charging. I'll fire up the air in a few hours on my drive home and report on how the battery holds up.

I think it would be extremely helpful if links to all the "best" accessories were on the first page... Like the bubbler, dome screens, stems etc. Could even put a hotlink to the post where its discussed in the most depth or something....

Now that i type that out I vaguely remember reading something about a "best of" post or thread ??? Maybe not.
I ordered the domed screens off of arizers website and they do not fit in the air. The metal lip is too wide. They do seem nice so I will be trimming them to fit when I get a chance. Anyone else have problems with the domed screens being too large?

The domed screens are not made for the Air they are designed for the Extreme Q they sell to put in the end of a 18mm piece of glass. That is why they do not fit. There are several posts on this thread with links to the proper dome screens that will fit your air stems.

aaaaaahhhh. That explains it. I forgot I was looking at the arizer site wide sale page when I saw it and ordered it and not just the air specific parts. Whoops!

I think the one thing I have to say I don't like about the air (and the solo) is by the end of the session (8-11 minutes in depending on model), I don't actually want to finish it off because it just doesn't taste that great and I'm not exactly hurting for material. That might be a flaw of conduction vapes in general (of which I have very few of), but it's probably worth noting that there is a flavour drop off as many others have mentioned.

That said, all I do is turn it off myself and knock out the avb and repack if need be. A small price to pay for having such an efficient portable. 8 minutes is all I really need with the air to get where I need to be 95% of the time. And I like that I don't have to work a button or a battery, it just goes.

Try cutting them and than forming it around a pencil eraser to make them fit in the air stem. I use them on my Eq , they go in the elbow.

I notice that my air has more flavor drop-off than my solo. With the solo on heat setting 3, 4 or 5 I can get good tasting vapor until the last minute or two. With the air on white or green I get vapor for maybe 4 or 5 draws before I lose flavor and have to kick it up a temp setting.

Is there a difference between the stem with a tip and the one without? They feel like the same material but I thought they were different.

The one without a tip seems to have a larger diameter base than the tiped stems (could stretch the seal). The one without is all glass but can get hot at the top of the stem vs the plastic. And of course plastic one is more stealthy

What a year for vaporizing…..!!! :)

A year for vaporizing? Brother I just read some shit about "VAPE" is the most used word of 2014 ROFL :) I actually expect 2015 to be the biggest year in vaping. imo =D. I have the Solo, but this Air is like the dream us solo owners get after going to bed happily :). I'd really like to see multiple diffusion pieces connected, as we all obviously know (heh), percolation is all vapes best friend. This Air would look so sick on a small defused drum, with a Solo 18.8mm GonG, upside down connected to a scientific joint..heaven (with the solo for now temporarily). I'm still looking at the mighty, but the solo has treated me so insanely well, that if this has identical in performance, I'm not sure how a portable could be as good as the solo..I know both heating chambers in the Air and Solo are the same, if not better on the Air (IV'E HEARD from others who have the Air and Solo). just don't know if I can turn the opertunity down to buy the Air. Help convince me please lol. Keep sizzling oil off trees so you hear that vapor WHOOSH your heart out 24/7.

Well, each session is 10 minutes so you can assume around 5 or 6 sessions with a 1 hour charge. Also the ability to have charged batteries ready to go means it would last a few hours of continuous use.

Gentlemen, how many minutes before auto-shut off? just fired up the Solo..it's been used so much, the down button that goes back to your last temperature is pushed in lmao. That's running it two stems per hour, 24/7 for one year..it's functions perfectly despite having to tilt the stem to get a seal for drawing (lose stock, no gasket/o-ring..I heard this is fixed in the Air. Now that I have mastered the right grind for these stems, 20 rips per stem at level 4 and with perfectly cured material. I'm just mentioning this because the heating chambers are the same performance-wise, I've read. I want the Air to replace my Solo simply because my Solo has some wear and tear. Thanks for reading peace!

..oh, and the female charger socket is pushed in because I've plugged/unplugged so many times LOL.

Anything is possible, but while the FBomb (and similar) can definitely spill, the one I suggested cannont. Did you read the discussion about it? You can put it in your pocket, turn it over or on it's side, and no leaks. I store mine in a small case, full and ready to go. It even evaporates slowly.

One of the reasons I suggested it..........

Yeah I read the discussion, I just order one, it looks like it would work well so thank you again. I am trying to get past the thought of directly connecting water above electronics. :science::lol:

Does anyone know if you can use the car charger while using it at the same time? Or is that only for the wall output?

I don't have the car charger but you should be able to tell by the mA rating (should be a sticker somewhere) i would guess if its 1000mA or over you should be ok, there is enough power there as long as the cord will supply it. But i don't think its true pass-through so will shorten battery life overall, although unless you use it like this lots you probably wont notice much difference, and the fact that we the customer can change the battery means you could see this as no big deal, unlike my crafty which from what I've read is going to cost me something like £30/$50 to get battery changed (unless I'm feeling brave and get my tools out)

Exactly! With my solo, I tried to preserve it best I could because changing the battery seemed like a hassle. With this I know I always could get a new battery. I got this vape more for the discreetness over the solo so if I need long battery life I always have the solo.

Anybody know if we can get one of these portable batteries and use it to charge the solo? Any idea what kind of plug it would need and if these can be found separately from arizer?

As far as i understand (don't own a solo) the solo uses the same kind of battery it just has two of them wrapped instead of one single cell. There are ways you might be able to use Air batteries but it would be more like using a power bank to charge the solo and even then I think you might need some kind of balance connector if removing battery to charge, most newer Li chargers have a USB out port so this could be used if you can find a cable that both fits your solo (length and width) and matches the voltage and mA rating(of your solo charger), although saying that i don't even know if the charger/power bank could supply enough juice.
I'm sure someone that has used their Air less than me :science: and makes more sense will expand/clarify my ramblings.

Edit: unless by Solo you mean Air and by portable battery you mean power bank, in which case i think @OF found a cable (psp cable i think) that works.

Thanks for the tips,

Got a nitecore d4 on its way too...great it comes with car charger...

Now figure out how to get two spare batteries at a fair price... (already have 3 batteries but after two days can say I will need more)...

@CentiZen? What would shipping costs to Europe be from your side of the pond hihi?

So I bought an all glass 115mm Solo stem the other day and oh boy is it lovely.

I never owned the Solo so never experienced the joy of such a long stem.

Up until the other week I was using the stock all glass 70mm stem, which is good, but does get warm by the 10 min marker, specially during those long draws.

Moral of the story is if you would like cooler smoother vapor and don't already have a Solo stem, get one :D

I actually just tried my solo stem in the air for the first time. And I think it was better than the air stems. I'm not sure why but it seemed like I got bigger clouds.

It's the way to go, now i'm just wondering how great a 1 foot stem would be
