The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

Will probably be cheaper to buy the 100w Ruby wood Angus once it's widely available in Europe than sending your unit to the states. Haven't heard of an EU based modder. Plus it will have the new firmware.
Yeah, i guess you are right. But in this case of buying new, i would even get the enhanced...

Nice i would like to get an 100w bulb upgrade as well. Somebody know where to get in Europe/ germany?

Granted I know nothing about the euro market, I think your best bet would probably be to buy the new 100w wood body Angus (if you prefer the wood body) or Angus Enhanced, and then sell your 50W unit.

Maybe check with YLL to see if they have an upgrade program option available to you, might be able to send it directly to YLL for the swap.

I asked something similar when YLL announced the Angus 100 Watt version but sadly never got a final answer.
Would be amazing if they come up with a solution maybe with the EU importer instead of shipping back and forth between China and EU.

By the way, seller "Verdampftnochmal" in germany just wrote:
*Separate Typenschilder [als Ersatz für die 50 W Version] wird es nicht geben und nach neuen Informationen künftig auch nur noch die Enhanced Version.*
**There will be no separate nameplates [as replacement for the 50 W version] and, according to new information, only the enhanced version will be available in the future.**

Just a quick update.. have had about a month with the Angus 100W now, and am super happy with it.

Comfy in the hand, fast to heat up, efficient as hell. Pretty reasonable to clean, though I would love to have spare CUs available so I could swap them in.

It's really hard to find much to complain about. It's taken all the things I liked about a Mighty as a portable, and improved on them in just about every way.

Wholeheartedly recommended :-)

"They" start to produce/offer additional pieces for the OG:
- filling funnel from Verdampftnochmal
- short mouthpiece with glass bowls
- nice rocket pearl stem
- adapter from 9 to 8 mm

(I wonder if Mike really had to want the 9mm diameter mouthpiece.
That was a unique selling point. Or maybe just the next available size among the many mouthpieces.)

There appears to be a feature that locks the device to prevent overheating. Then it flashes all around and commands can no longer be given. One can not switch it off so to say.
So, removing a battery turns the device off.

So a little while ago, I was running my Angus (50W non-ruby version) through a bubbler @ the highest temp - as I've done many times before - when boom, combustion. Shit, I thought, clearly packed it too tight and/or hit it a bit too hard. Whoops. Gave everything a good clean, ran a heat cycle, and figured I'd have another crack. The chamber was still a bit stinky but figured that would go away eventually. 2nd highest temp this time, and boom, combusted again. Rinse and repeat @ the lowest temp - very dark (and partially charred) vaped bud. Extremely thick vapour with hints of yellow smoke. Put the thing away and left it in a drawer for a while. Thought I'd have another go tonight, and paid extra attention to packing it loosely and running it at the lowest temp... Only to get the exact same result.

No idea why this has started happening - it's as though my unit is running far hotter than it should. Has anyone experienced this before? The Angus was a great little bonger so I'm bummed it isn't working as it should :(

Sorry if this issue has already been addressed in the thread.
I've had my regular Angus, 50w no rubies, since january. I've used it not too heavily, maybe once or twice per week, and never had any problems, it never fell, it never hit hard surfaces and it was never slammed/bumped on anything, and I always keep it in the purse it came with.
So, yesterday I turned it on like i always do, set it at the 6 o clock light, and started pulling. No problems with the first hit, but the secon one produced almost no vapour. I tried rising the temperature, but all I got was a short vibration. I tried two, three times, but the result was the same: a short vibration, the bulb not lighting up, and the unit not working anymore; I can't even turn it off with the button, I can't change the setting, nothing.
I thought that maybe there was some issue with the batteries (I use molicel and sony batteries), so I swapped in two fresh ones, but the outcome keeps remaining the same. I also tried turning it on and setting other temps, but once it gets ready to vape, the 6 oclock setting lights up (even if I choose any other setting), then nothing. When I take out a battery, it switches off; but if I put the cap on again, the 6 oclock light turns on and stays there; all I can do to permanently cut the power is wait for 20-30 seconds and then reinsert the battery.
Is my unit fried? I bought it off lacentralevapeur.

Sorry to hear your Angus stopped working. I had a very similar issue with the original Angus and just got a new unit as warranty case. I know this sucks but maybe you get a new one I'm EU based too.

I don't think so. I ordered there twice and never had any problems nor heard something like this though no expert.

Opinions please:
Can the air intake holes be enlarged a little to get more and easier passage?
You talk about those little black holes right at the bottom? I would be extremely careful cause I'm clumsy but if some is good at such things I'd say why not? But will this have a sufficient effect or is the whole air path narrow and can you assure you won't end up with an open bottom that let in dirt and dust.

My Angus OG button feels like the point of pressure deteriorates slow but surely. If this really happens I hope I find someone capable of repairing it :science:

I'm interested in the Enhanced. From the video's I've seen, people rip through huge bowls at very high temps. I don't go above 195°. How is this vape if you're slow, use it at low temps with like 0.15g? How is the coughing at lower temps? Mighty is my reference point.

Just to confirm. You are using a pair of batteries that are exactly the same and have always been used and charged as a pair?

You can draw as slow or fast as you want I'd say the heat accumulation via balls works great for consistent hits once you find your temp.
My scale isn't that precise but I did something between 0.1 and 0.2 and it was a rather normal bowl, you should be fine I guess .
Never had a Mighty but I think the Angus tastes better at high temps when using with water. I cough more at low temps when using a bubbler compared to max temp. But dry is very nice at low temps and with a big bong every temp is fine.
Why you never go above 195°C am I allowed to ask?

That could make a big difference. A few days ago I thought my Angus is broke but it was the old pair of batteries. I had this all light blinking and no heat up problem. New batteries and everything was fine.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Just personal preference, I feel like most is spent at 195° and don't want the other more harmful chemicals to release. Inhaling hot air is not super healthy so also try to limit myself a bit.

I just got mine in the mail and doing burnoffs. Can you switch the device off via the button or does it always stay on for 5 min? Don't see anything in the manual..
