Vapor concierge
if it works well with partial loads you'll hit all the market needs!
Yeah I got it today actually. It's not bad for like $25. I kinda like the unique design. Feels good in the hand. Does take a bit to get used to while drawing. I just ordered a heat sink mainly to just raise the atty up a bit.Design is slightly awkward but would have to see it for real. Seems it wouldn't sit upright very well. I'm also concerned about the TC implementation as it's crap in most mods excepted DNA-based ones.
Another downside: no custom TCR in this one apparently.
But nice find otherwise!
For reference, I did a short summary of the various single (swappable) cell SBS mods available in this post a short while ago >> http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-project-diy-herbal-vaporizer.21055/page-43#post-1129674
Ordered prototype, working to optimize parts for manufacturing. I'll post all about the prototype when it's up and running
...im surprised that there are not more of these type of atomizers being developed and FLOODED the market already...
...i'm all in for a dry herb style '510' atomizer
(it may be the future of portables?)
There are plenty and have been for years. The only problem is they either combust or didn't get enough vapor.
...agreed, the couple i've tried have been disappointing... i'm still surprised how little there are in this arena...
So whats the timeline for the modpod?
Looking beautiful. Can’t wait to test one of these bad boys out! Good luck with the rest of the process. Keep me in mind when sending out test units. I was the guy who walked you through the process which ended up becoming the Divine Castle RDAFirst Prototype is nearly finished!
Looks great ! I guess the concept is similar to the Project/Shitfucker ? Are the coils still glow red like in the video with the previous prototype ?First Prototype is nearly finished!
It is the latter ,It should run in TC mode just like the TUBO.Wow, this device is really coming along, can’t wait to see more!
How is the temperature controlled? Will it be user technique or will it be possible just to set the right settings on the mod and it’s consistent?

This is looks awesome @supershredderdan , congrats!
Could you mention the size or post a comparative pic with a 18650 battery or something else...
beautiful. only worry is heat cuz it looks like it would have the same problem with heat as the hopper does. guess we will see, glad to see you coming along though, nice to see people follow through with ideas.
Looking good Dan! Nice to see this project going forward. The mod pod looks pretty slick, like a oversized but not conspicuous RDA. Heat sink is cool. I'll look forward to testing / purchasing this piece when it's ready. Still 24mm base? PPN, it looks like it may be a tad longer or nearly as tall as an 18650? (~65mm)
For sensitive-throated people like myself, maybe the vapor on the modpod may be too harsh to enjoy straight-up, dry mouthpiece, with no water, but it looks like it will be able adapt to water tools easily
Now we want to see the insides of the modpod too...
Hey...I didn't even notice the coils glowing through the 3d printed plastic body in the earlier prototype, how did I not see that? If the convection coils are indeed SS, and you had it on TC-SS mode at a reasonable 420F, (and TC-SS is one of the lowest usable settings on a TC mod) I wonder why the coils were glowing?
I know you may need hotter temperatures at the metal coils on a pure convection vape so that the vaping material probably won't match that full temp of the coils during a session, but red hot seems pretty hot
Yet the vapor it made didn't appear excessively dense or grey or ashy and burned in the video, it looked just right? (right?)
As an Ozzie might say..about the glowing coils...
what's that all about?
Works on temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) from dynamically detecting the atomizer coil resistance when in use, but that's a function of the separate TC mod the user must use it with to have this control. Dan is just having it made in a way (with materials, coil resistance range) to allow the modpod to be used in TC / TCR modes.
So you should be able to just "set the right settings" and largely be able to avoid charring / combustion...but how well he designs this thing will matter for that too.
From using my tubo evic so much these days, with it's pretty good TC using the same method as the mod pod uses, I've learned that "user technique" is still a factor to get the best results, since it's still a pure convection vape with big airflow potential, and charring (but not easily burning) your herb is still possible even at lower temperatures using the wrong "technique" and not-best practices
But for the knuckle-heads and fans of mech mods, watts mode and combustion, charring, etc., you should be able to run this thing in watts mode or un-regulated, if electronic smoking with a battery is your thing? (smoking [combustion], not just vaping, with a battery, sadly, many people are a fan of that)
Used in that backwards way, the modpod would be undistinguished and not superior from much of the wood-clad, 510 competition out there
