Calm Consistency
Yep I'm using a version from about a year ago, never updated mine. M1 TCR I believe was just renamed "Tubo"So you are using a previous version of the fj software. That is Tubo mode now I think?

Just buy a DNA "c" gen. Its replay algorithm is more advanced and does not need to know the material.Received my Z and am just waiting for my box mod, so I am doing some reading and found this 101: https://vaping360.com/best-vape-mods/temperature-control/. It is helpful, but also makes the following statement: "TCR is not something to ballpark! Different wires will have different TCRs, and even within one metal type." It's frustrating that @RastaBuddhaTao is not able to share the material type or specifications, but also understood with all the 'fake vapes' that quickly pop up and eat away from already narrow margins.
@RastaBuddhaTao understanding you do not wish to share materials, perhaps you could use the wire calculator and share the results for the Z? http://www.steam-engine.org/wirewiz.html
If you're serious about it and it's not a burden to you I can send over a Splinter, and I suppose a Splinter Z too although I just got mine back so would be sad to leave again haha. I just don't know how consistent each unit is and if different mod variations will play a part in the actual results for each person/Splinter.reading this thread is fingernail bending send me the attachments and i measure them out with my thermo couple and tell you guys the correct tcr numbers
Those kinds of temps would blow my load I rarely go over 35W. Good to know the Splinter can take much more than I'm giving her@funkyjunky and @AJS .. From current documentation it looks like any cruise over 50w for more than 30 seconds voids the warranty? Not sure if that applies to the Splinter Z too.. https://www.rastabuddhatao.com/Articles.asp?ID=269 .
"Over temperature Splinter - Splinter has a max wattage of 50 watts and a maximum on-time of 30 seconds - Exceeding these conditions voids warranty"
So I guess a (non-warranty breaking) default of 50w or under, and max session time of 30 seconds might be good!
I'm not sure how you're equating wattage to temp when in tcr.. the coils will only draw the power they need to keep temp, so you could set it to 260C and if you didnt take a drag it would only draw a really low wattage. The vape is still hot as hell though! Those kinds of temps would blow my load I rarely go over 35W. Good to know the Splinter can take much more than I'm giving her
yes, of course but there is that little something about the secret materialYea, not offering warranty when used in tcr mode never made sense to me when it is the least taxing on the atty when set right.
I guess this partly depends how you interpret the warranty.. It reads like you shouldnt ever exceed 50w (I.e. throw too much power at the heater). Or run it for over 30 seconds regardless of the wattage (I.e. expose the vape to heat for extended periods of time)
Breazy.com currently has the gen3 on sale but it's not the dual. There's a coupon code somewhere if you search, comes down to like $35 with couponHmm I am contemplating grabbing a Wismec RX Gen3 Dual now, even though it is not DNA or FJcompatible, since I like the form factor... Seems it works with surmyevic, but would still require my figuring out TC for myself... The Senuous P80 is nice looking for a single batt mod too, but unsure how well it'd fit the Z without any overhang... I know I should be grabbing a DNA mod, but their price and form factors aren't as enticing with a Triade for $120 vs $40 for the RX...
The only reason I am contemplating getting a new mod at all is to get better temp control, which seems to be pointing me to the DNA chip. Oh, that and wanting to avoid swapping splinters to protect the 510. So 2 reasons.

Got the RX Gen3 Dual mod running FJ, tried TC and TCR but gone back to Wattage and running between 30-35 W. Using the FJ Firmware I don't have that 10sec time out.
Fwiw that isn't fj firmware, that's the myevic fw and is very different than fj's.I found the FJ bin file that works for the RX Gen 3 Dual here https://forum.vapelife.com/discussion/comment/81197

Unless you downloaded fj's from his location and installed his successfully. But as far as I know, it shouldn't work with that particular mod.
