The smoker I drink, the player I get.
Introduced a few folks to vapor with this rig below. The SSV has certainly proven to be a worthwhile acquisition.

One issue that took me a little bit to master was the heat control - absolutely have to use less heat when pulling through the water or it will combust! I keep the temp knob about 45-50% - of course a lot depends on grind and moisture of the herbals themselves. Without the water glass (very rare) I run about 60% on the knob.

Happy New Year Folks, been a while since I've been on here, went through a personal roller coaster.

A few weeks ago my wand finally took one too many hits on the table to due sliding out and cracked. Being the smart person I am, I was totally unprepared and had to wait a week for a replacement!!!!!! Talk about tough times lol.

Anyways, I went to buy another wand for a backup, got sidetracked and saw the the coiled vapor tamer and I ended up coming here first and then I saw the Saturn (mother of god), but I stuck with the coiled guy. I decided it looks a little more BA than the percolater but I also just treated myself to a new piece of glass with 4 percs, so I really want the damn percs in my life, I got 'em lol.

Anyways, what's the point of this post? idk, I'm rambling lol... oh, does anyone have any experience with these? Saturn is on my list btw :D

I bought the VapirNo2 and it was okay. However, it has been falling apart. The battery inexplicably died. I say inexplicably because I didn't use it that much. So, I bought a new battery for $30. Now, it seems as if the charger doesn't work. I can buy a charger specifically for the battery at the cost of $19.99 or another AC plug for $30. Getting it to work again would certainly be cheaper than buying a whole new vape, but maybe that is what I need to do.

To show you how ignorant I am, I listened to the advice of people who told me that that the Vapir was a good idea. I don't want to bash it because I loved the digital temperature regulator. So, ladies and gents, I beg you to lead me to the proper vape. Should I keep my Vapir or buy either Da Buddha Vape, or the Silver Surfer.

I am puzzled by the difference between DBV and SSV beyond the aesthetics. Can someone break down how one is "hands-free" and one isn't; what about the heating apparatus issues I've heard both of them have?; can those who have owned/tried them both on more than one occasion discuss the difference between the highs (if there are any) and how the design difference impacted the experience; and, lastly, give an unambiguous case for one versus the other. I've heard so many people say that you're just paying for looks and that the DBV is the better one. Please help!

Also, anyone who has those vaunted coupons to knock the SSV price down, please message me. I am a lawyer and I can offer legal advice, access to good attorneys in your area if you really screwed up and need to go to trial, and any help you. NB: I am only offering this to "encourage" people to hook me up. I'm not such an asshole that I would deny anyone help because s/he didn't give me coupons. I just want the chance to get a vape without feeling ripped off again and getting one at an excellent price would go a long way toward that. So, please PM me with access to them if you've got them. And, anyone who needs any legal advice, before or after an incident goes down.

I thank everyone in advance for any consideration or help.

I think I might be the VT's biggest fan-boy... :-P I have all 3 sizes. See my post above: 5 posts back

Oh, saw it I did indeed!!

I'm still a novice in terms of experience (10 months been doing this, first time ever getting elevated at 32!)

I just hate the fact that no one else around me is as "enthusiastic" about this as I am lol. I don't know anyone else around here like you guys in this forum. I wish I did, so I could try before I buy. Oh well, part of my scientific nature is what translates to me investigating ways into improving vaping.

Cluffy, I did browse the earlier posts when y'all were talking about the Saturn but let's be honest, I don't remember anything and I don't have the "want" at this very moment to go back and find ANYTHING if you know what I mean :lol:... anyways, my question is, how does it improve the experience and to what role does glycerin play aside from the obvious non-freezing properties?

To the gentleman above, just buy the SSV. There isn't one unsatisfied customer on 113 pages of this forum, I think that should tell you enough. I went with GonG for handsfree meaning I can insert the wand into the HC and twist slightly to create enough torque to lock the GonG into place, but if you're not careful, it slips out and they don't easily break but breakable nonetheless. See my post above where I went to buy a backup yesterday and ended up spending more on some accessories :brow:

The last thing I'll say is you'll need to do some optimizations before you find the settings that you like the most and in terms of aesthetics, the SSV wins IMO.

If you are a working attorney , buying parts to fix your NO2 should be like buying toothpaste.
I just read the 3 posts you have made since coming to FC.
Go buy the part you need.... that you should have posted in the NO2 thread!!! (I am sending you by email the name of the person at Vapir to speak with)
Now that you are here in this thread... I will comment that you can't go wrong with the SSV (but I also love the NO2)... but vapes "inexplicably dying " can be a habit so take care!
The NO2 is a portable vape, and as such by its description... is not "solid state".
The SSV is solid state.. but you are then limited to home.
Every vape has it's place!

Darn it Vito, when I saw your name at the SSV thread I was hoping you answered any VT questions that Hage had!! ;)
Hage, all I can say is that the VT's cool vapor more than any ice filled bong I've ever tried. I like cool vapor so I prefer the VT over a bong. Sure it doesn't filter out particles like a bong, but I find that the hose itself as well as the bends in the VT collect most of the particles anyway. Don't get me wrong, I still use a bong, but for a nice big hit from my DBV I'll reach for a VT every time. The only things the glycerin does besides not freezing are stay cold and be fun to watch while you turn the VT in your hands (think cold lava lamp...)
@ as1504: Try a google search for ssv vs dbv. It's been covered here many times but the FC search is a little rough if you don't know what you're doing.

cluffy...
I missed it. I never saw his question, and was sidetracked about the SSV vs NO2 question.
This affirms confidence that you are always here, my buddy!
True enough... the VT is the coolest vape experience I have ever had..... and I have been able to adapt the VT to every vape I own!

I love getting stoned and reading and forgetting everything I just read and then ripping off the SSV while I continue to browse . Sometimes, I just like to scroll through and look at the pretty pictures :lol:

Regarding the second part of the quote, this pretty much confirms what we all knew already, Saturn is next on my purchase list:D

I think I'm gonna ditch the rest of the forums I visit and stick to this one. I need to be around some easy going pot heads like me, not inflammatory trolls!!

Ah, I hate seeing the ssv thread anywhere but the first page!
I've been trying a slightly new technique w/ my surfer (new to me at least) What I've been doing is, I pull very slowly to get some air circulation through the wand and tube, as well as build up vapor in these parts. Then, after I pull very gently for about 15 sec, I inhale really quick and strong to take in all of the vapor that built up. I got inspiration for this method from using my buddy's mflb and from tokin bong. It works pretty well. As soon as I inhale quickly, I feel it go right to my lungs, much like a bong hit. I know Im not the first to try it, but it Works pretty well, especially if you're looking for a strong hit.

I'm still a newbie here and I'm a soon to be a SSV newbie. I've checked out the SSV website and I was offered some upgrades, but I don't know what they mean insofar as the standard SSV parts.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the standard wand and heater cover to the spherical glass wand and heater cover? The SSV website may explain it, but because I haven't any experience with it, I don't know what the standard wand and heater cover look like versus the spherical wand and heater cover. Can anyone post a picture of the two? Also, for those who have used the SSV, is this upgrade worth it for $20?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I Vapes Hard
@As1504-- yeah check out the vids and forum there is lots of info about the wand and heater cover types. I went with speherical and love it for its perfect seal at various angles. I also feel the larger opening on the spehericl brings more hot air in, as the opening seems to be larger than the standard. The ground glass has a built in handsfree but i worry any downward hit on the wand with it in the GG and the heater cover and or wand are done. With my spherical and handsfree clip it just pops off if there was a incident.

I been enjoying my new vap over the past few weeks and frequently browsing here and vaping...which quickly prompted me to go get a new water piece to vape out of. Its a handheld mini bong i suppose, i dont know how to classify it. Governmint glass. Havent heard of them but the "G" logo in the first bulb of the glass is what attracted me to it at first, as my first name starts with G. Anyway its got a single, tube style perc with 6 holes in it. I love the way it hits with the ssv. I went for a smaller volume piece, with a single diffuser. My local shops didnt have any halo, waffle percs or anything cool like those. Maybe will take a trip to denver in a few weeks and see what i find. Any suggestions in the area?

Anyway i tried to add pics of my setup and it wont let me or i dont know how. Must i upload them and can only add a url? How can i post them to appear directly in the post without a url?

Thanks guys!

Vape big.

YoGranMazPimp- upload the images to a hosting service like tinypic... imageshack... or photobucket.
Then it will give you a code to use for posting the pic here.

Hopefully the pics work. First pic is my new setup. Blue ssv. Governmint glass bubbler. My ssv grinder and a couple jars of the chairman sour d, the AVW in back. Couple of dime bag cases as well which are nicely padded and lots of pockets

Second shot is of the water chamber in my piece. Its like a tube with 6 holes. How do i classify a piece like this? A bong? Bubbler? Is its water action a perc? Diffuser? Anyway i love its small volume and seems to hit real smooth with no drag. Glad i went with a ssv and need a portable vape so i can get smoking out of my life completely. Was thinking a MFLB cause it seems discreet and small.

Does anyone ever raise their knob during their sessions or just inhale slower for higher temperature? Because I seem to get good thick smoke at only the 12:00 position, and my herb turns dark brown after about 4-5 hits. Should I turn it up more or just cash the bowl?

FDo a bit of both.... you will know which you like best..
Also, one man's cashed bowl, is another's green pasture... it's all relative (how are you set up for meds?)
I personally inhale slower for more heat.. faster for less, and stay at noon.
