Idk, it would have to be priced well enough to compete with the new blems, which still have the standard warranty. In general you should be able to pick up a used ssv for the price of a new blem dbv, but it's hard to say.

If I was to price a used one, I would put myself in the position of the buyer and figure out what I would be willing to pay.

Sorry I can't give you a hard number, but there are too many variables. I can tell you to keep your eye on the classified thread here, but what tends to pop up are complete packages with lots of extras so a great deal can be had if that's what you are looking for.

how long can you keep herb in your wand?
I like to fill it and have a few hits, then put it down and maybe have a few the next day or in a few days.
but how long is to long?

and please don't sook about how it wont get me high. I like to get mega blazed sometimes, but I also like to have a little bit sometimes. just like coffee, when you have a coffee you don't think oh this isn't enough caffeine, it wont get me pinging.

I have left stuff in my wand and forgot about it for a week (my SSV isn't my main vape) and hit it and it was fine. It's never as tasty as the first hit though. The tasty cannabanoids are the first to go. But the heavier sludgy ones last forever. The most sludgy of the resins don't even get vaporized. That's what's left in your abv. You can get them if you vape on high but you're likely to combust.

Terpenes. not cannabinoids

I can see how your screen mod would be extremely(Q) useful to someone trying to conserve herb to the max, but yeah, I'm not hahaha so I have little use for it:myday:
I would like to eat the leftover words I have on my plate, and say I am now using the extreme q screen mod quite consistently, here's why: The mesh is a lot finer than the standard SSV screens, and I smoke a lot of unpressed extracts; the finer screen actually gets less dirty as the individual trichomes are too large to become trapped in the screen.
Have been noticing that the second screen builds up reclaim really fast, am considering removing it as I think forcing vapour through all the tiny gaps encourages re-condensation. I do not have the problem of the screen slipping down thus far. Opinions?

Also struggled to get it out when I wanted to go back to normal after guests left, any tips?
Figured out what I was doing wrong, very easy to remove the modded screen from the wand right after vaping while glass is still warm. Cooled resins were making it almost impossible

Is there a way to mimick the EQ screen mod without and EQ dome Screen? I only have standard SSV screens and some brass pipe screens

With a bit of craft you might be able to mod an SSV screen into something dome-like (maybe a cone?), but TBH I'd just wait until you can get your hands on an actual EQ dome screen. While it's certainly worth a few dollars for the EQ upgrade, I wouldn't waste other screens/herb on a sub-par, temporary solution. The SSV is a lovely beast no matter how you use it. :D

wouldnt it create the same effect (thicker hits) just having a second screen closer to the element.

Yea, I suppose. Just that you may need to stir more (esp with something like a cone) and I don't know how well it'd hold in the wand. But hey, if you can get it going then power to ya! Post some pics if you are able to mod a regular screen, I'm sure there are plenty of people here who'd be very interested!

Ok so i've hand shaped a SSV screen into a dome/cone shape and fitted it into my wand

I've notice increased efficiency (can use a tinier bowl for same size hits) but have not noticed my hits being any larger/thicker

Edit: I guess I was wrong, just got a suprisingly lung busting hit on 12 o clock, could never do that before.

Thank god for this forum, there is no other site that has this kind of stuff, with such a great community. I've never been able to get my ABV this dark wt my SSV and get baked off so little. Thank you BranFlakes and the FC community for showing me this awsome mod

LoL! Good stuff though, sounds like you've found a niche! :D May I ask how you 'hand shaped' the SSV screen so that it'd fit and stay stable? (guessing you cut a slit or shaped it over the bottom of a pen or something?)

I simply bent it to have a slight curve, such as you would to regularly put it into a wand. Then using the glass head of my poker (from SSV) as well as my index and pinky finger, i bent the screen around my finger by moving around the screen applying light pressure to slowly morph it around my finger. Near the end i had to make the circular edge more angled up (so the cone fit into the wand) then when i had a dome shape, I used my finger and poker to place the screen inside the wand by applying even pressure and nudging the screen to become level.

Love this mod:rockon:

Edit: Btw does anybody else notice a sort of deposit on the outside of the wand. I cant see it but I can feel it when I sometimes grab my wand, idk what it is (wax, salt, sugar, something..maybe from hand sweat), but ill wipe it down or try scraping it wt my fingers but it eventually always seems to come back (happend with both my wands too)

Hi all, my SSV will hopefully be arriving in the post today, and hopefully my eq screens will be here by tomorrow. I'm in the UK and the weed aint cheap round these parts, so economy is a must! So I just thought I would drop a post just to say thanks for all the hints and tips in this thread, and on this site!

I'm now going to go back to sitting by the window to wait for the postman...

You are in for some good times today then! Using water filtration?

420G, wash your hands!
Hahahaha, but on a serious note do you break your buds up by hand? Residue could be smeared
trichomes I guess..

Awesome.:clap: Glad to see others getting the same results I have.

Are you using a stock size SSV screen? (.625")

I've made a mini-dome for my VB mini using a stock SSV screen. I wouldn't use my mini without one, it is by far the worst offender of all my wands in letting debris through. If any one is interested on how to make a dome screen from a normal screen let me know, I'll take some pics.

The screen inside the NO2 bowl gets shaped like this after stuffing it down there with the wood pic that came with it or an un sharp pencil. Maybe you could do the same thing with the wand and a un sharp pencil. I want to try this with the Nano stem

Yes it's just a stock screen I ordered along with my SSV when I first bought it. Im interested in your method of doming the screen

Here is my first attempt on the left, I believe it is a stock SSV .625" (5/8th") screen that goes in my mini Vapor Bros wand. On the right is a .750" (3/4th") screen.
4re2.jpg

Fold screen in half, pinch with clamps
zcfv.jpg

Unfold screen while still clamped
3n1b.jpg

Finish by crimping the end tighter, continue to the other side
pko6.jpg

Fold in half again, repeat previous steps
qnrc.jpg

Until four corners are folded

My first attempt was much better, but this appears to be good enough.

Hi again, so my SSV finally turned up yesterday. I brought it second hand from ebay, so I gave it a good clean with ISO alcohol, chucked some weed in the wand, set it to 12 o'clock, and I was producing clouds right away...happy days I thought! The green turned brown very quickly though, and the burn was very uneven. So I tried turning the dial down but it didn't seem to make any difference. It seems that I have a faulty unit that only wants to run at one temp...hot!
Is it normal for the dial to be able to turn continuously? (It will click on and off) The only way I can get any control over the temp, is if I turn the unit off, then turn the dial backwards very slowly and it will come back on, with about a 1-2mm window for adjustment, using the power light brightness as a power gauge.
I'm pretty sure this is not normal?

I would contact 7th floor IF the unit is under 3 years old they will cover it. (if this does not help...)
The knob sounds like it may be loose.
remove the knob, and try the controls without a knob... you will then know if the knob is loose or if the Rheastat is faulty.
If the knob is loose, try spereading the split part of the post that holds that knob...
Not a bunch, just a little bit.
Then replace the knob.

The rheastat (turning) mechanism may also be disconnected inside and moving some...
try what I described.

The seller want me to prove that the unit is faulty(??) before issuing a partial refund to help cover repair costs. Plus when I took it apart to investigate...I dropped the HC on the carpet...turns out the glass is VERY thin on the elbow! Doh! So returning the item for a full refund would be difficult.

I have spoken with 7th floor and they do out of warranty repairs for $25 which I think is reasonable, but being in the UK I would have to pay the postage both ways, plus any customs expenses, etc. So that's that option out the window also..

As I mentioned above, I opened it up to have a look inside. Unsurprisingly its pretty simple, just the heating element and an adjustable voltage regulator. Now I'm thinking the cheapest and easiest thing to do would be to just replace the voltage regulator. I can't find a like for like replacement. But I think something like this should do the job:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3000W-0-2...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27d3bb34b8

Do you think it would work?
