Hm, this is a neat idea, do you run the SSV on full heat when you vape concentrates like this? I have an extra hands-free wand, might try to do this , I just don't know if enough heat will be delivered...

How many times can you clean and reuse these pads with pressed hash? I found 2 for 5 bucks

I've only used them a short time, but you can carefully scrape the residue off the top of the pad. You can also flip them over. I honestly don't know yet how many times you can re-use them, but I think it's quite a few. S&B sells 4 packs for $6.90

Burn that off good if/before you use it, it's industrial not medical and could have residue on it.
Question... The aroma top comes into direct contact with the heater cover on my SSV. It causes the aroma top to slide around during use, which gets really annoying. I like using it during the day so the smell doesn't bother others in the house, but I'm also kind of afraid it might to do damage to the cover. Is that normal?

I've been using my new ssv for the past coupla weeks, it's a great vape and I'm lucky I got it through customs as it's completely unheard off where I am. I dread sending it back for any repairs.
Anyway, the purpose of this post is to highlight an issue I have with my ssv.
Mine is the version that has the metal spring clip. I found it way too loose on arrival. I also noticed that the heater cover is angled backwards slightly, bringing the ceramic heating element a bit too close to the heater cover. When I push the wand against the heater cover ( lightly ) it leans back further, touching or barely touching the heating element. Is this bad ?
I can't help but feel that this is a slight error in design. I think the position of the screws and metal clip should be inverted, facing in the opposing direction. As users press the wand against heater cover whilst taking a hit, this coupled with the direction of the clip pushes the heater cover's glass elbow against the ceramic element. This can't be good in the long term.
A simple solution to this without removing the base ( of heating element ) would be to swap the screw not holding the metal clip, which is shorter than the two with one thats taller for balance.
The two screws coupled with the clip are causing the heater cover to lean backwards. It's too bad my third screw turns but can't be removed for some reason. It turns in place but does not come out. It's kinda frustrating cause replacing the screw is a solution. I'm gonna remove the base and try unscrewing the screw out with another screw from the bottom. Fingers crossed xx
Something I hope 7th Floor takes into consideration, is the direction of the metal clip. I feel it should be on the opposite side, in the other direction. And the height of the screws as they are the base of the heater cover.
Other than this slight complaint, it's been happy trails since I received it

I am new to vaping and I learned from this forum to help me decide what to buy. I bought a SSV cosmetic second for 160 at their shop in Colorado. I didn't even get any vapor my first try, but I was so impressed with the flavor of vaping fresh weed that I knew I wouldn't ever smoke it again. The ceramic bar wasn't high enough at first but problem solved. I have the standard wand and I noticed all the dust bits that would accumulate on the glaze. So after first cleaning I put in 2 screens and the wand just became covered in the glaze, no dust this time. But I haven't read anyone else mention 2 screens. Is this a good idea or no?

I used to use two screens, so no it will not be an issue. Just make sure to clean the second screen when you start seeing a performance drop in your SSV. I now use EQ elbow screens because they are a very tight mesh screen that lets barely any debris through.

Ok Tweak. I will clean the second screen each time. I did see that was needed. I think I want to keep dust out of the wand and even had some in the hose. I love this thing and plan on using long term so I don't want to breathe in too much dust over time.

Dust is a huge concern of mine too. I fear that it may make it's way into my lungs and that can't be good.
The SSV is my favorite vaporizer, I haven't found anything that produces vapor as thick.

My problem was getting to the nut, but I finally managed to get out the screw with the smallest spanner I could find to hold the nut while I unscrewed on the other end. I managed to find a longer replacement screw, and fit in a shortened ball point pen spring on the new screw to give it more height. My heater cover is now balanced, and does not move around too much, esp backwards when using the wand. It was quite a PITA getting it back on, and off ....

It was one of the first vids I watched about the SSV. My SSV is the current version, it uses a clip instead of the shim and metal parts.

I've found they want to only carry bongs and pipes, as Vaporizers are much more efficient.
I used to have a "grudge " with Maggie's due to some questionable practices, but doing this may just have redeemed themselves.
I love that 7th Floor Vapes are on the shelves of Dispensaries... This shows pride in their meds.

Regarding Vaping Hash in SSV/DBV...
Up til 2 nights ago, I was grinding 0.1 grams of herb, 90% of herb in place as a "green screen", layer of hash, then cover hash with the 10% remaining herb.
Near the end of the bowl, I'd get that popcorn flavor, but still satisfied..
However, I have always been a promoter of not grinding my herb, until I started Vaping.
So, I returned to not grinding,
Most all my strains are caked with Trichomes, I cringe every time I grind... Rupturing my glands, and the rest falling into the kief chamber.
I want my Trichomes in my wand, not sitting in my grinder.
So, I break up VERY GENTLY with my fingernails by hand, .......

After a few draws the of pure flavor and sweat inducing vapor , I use my stir tool to open up the surface area, more flavor, more vapor...
now, I add my hash... Crank up to 3 o'clock....
Wow!!!!!'
Pure Hash Terpenes, can't taste the ABV at all, now even just one draw.... The sweat glands really start opening up, maybe a couple dabs worth of FullMelt Hash gave me several large clouds of expansive Vapor..
I could barely hold my head up.... Lol

This was a craigslist deal so I'm not positive it came from Maggie's it may have just been a contest or something I'm not really sure. I have seen a few dispensaries selling 7th floor products though which is always cool to see.
Gonna PM you about Maggie's questionable practices, you've got me curious. Haven't shopped there in a long time but was planning to take advantage of their 4/20 deal tomorrow.

I cringed as well when I recently started grinding top quality herb. I felt the same way because I had always used scissors. I bought a 4 piece grinder and I felt better when I saw the kief that had collected. I may try scissors again and see if flavor is different or better. But every way Ive tried and used my new SSV has worked well. What an amazing ride so far. Congratulations to whoever invented it. Simple and durable and once I learned my setting its been totally reliable for me. I really like the option I have of being super efficient or huge rips if I choose. Outstanding device.

The SGG was my first Heater Cover, loved it. But once it broke I found it too expensive to replace vs the standard HC/wand.
I agree totally. Reliability is huge IMO and the SSV is solid as a rock.

Please do try no grind , I was absolutely blown away by the robust flavors and much more satisfying Vapor.
When I was smoking my herb, I'd always spread the word about my preference not to grind. This can be confirmed by @I'm Ron Burgundy? ...
Grinding literally destroys those precious Glandular Heads...

So, 2 nights ago, I pulled this jar out, as I was about to go ahead and grind away, I couldn't help but notice the huge Trichome coverage, and determined this is NOT going into that damn grinder.
*Gently* break up with your fingernails or Scissors/ Shot glass method (Some Trikes will be lost due to static, and minimal rupturing)
I'd take at least 2-3 draws like this, then use the stir tool to break up further, or one could simply grind after taking those first few draws.
The flavor in those initial hits... I've never tasted anything so amazing.

Sounds like its worth investigating! no cost to alter the screw positioning.
I wouldn't really worry about dust, we breathe copious amount into our lungs over our lifetime. That is what mucus and the cilia are for in the bronchi. Catching the particulates and moving them up and into the mouth for swallowing.
I considered filters on some of my prototypes, but i am still on the fence as to weather it is worth it for people without allergies or respiratory problems. You have to clean a filter or dust catcher and it gets filthy quick.
