So do you guys test for contaminates in the rosin? Or is it just cannabanoid content? I know we all have agreed parchment is safe but I guess I can't help shaking the feeling it may leech something into our product. Maybe I'm just that paranoid stoner again, it hasn't stopped me pressing yet lol
Good question. On that specific sample of rosin, only a cannabinoid profile was requested.
As far as contaminants go, we have a diverse set of tests but they do not include what would be necessary to answer this question.
What we offer besides cannabinoid and terpene profiles are
1) VOCs (aka residual solvents)
2) Mycotoxins
3) Heavy Metals and Nutrients
4) Mold / Mildew / Fungus / Yeast
5) E.coli / Salmonella
6) Pesticide array (11 types I think?)
7) Sex Determination (tell very early if they are M or F)
To detect other things, it depends on the equipment and methodology used. In general, we have to identify a compound we'd like to detect and then purchase a "standard" of that compound and calibrate and/or program the equipment to detect it. That's a high simplification, but I think you'll understand.
I've been very interested to know if anything from the parchment is transferring also. Maybe someone in the industry will tackle it at some point though.
