Very sad news...

Mountain was the very first band I saw live back in the early 70's @ the Asbury Park Convention Center.

Good bye, Leslie:rip:
I grew up in that area but was too young at the time. I believe Rush opened for them. It was held in the old Casino skating rink. Saw Leslie/Mountain years later...'85 if memory serves me.

Bummer about MF DOOM. I don't feel like I'm the right person to post about it, as I know very little about him and rap/hip-hop in general.

She was my 16yo daughter's favorite though, and I do feel for her. She said he was a "pioneer", I tend to gravitate towards those types of artists myself.

RIP MF DOOM

Gerry Marsden of Gerry And The Pacemakers has died

Gerry Marsden, singer of the Liverpool band Gerry And The Pacemakers, has died, it has been confirmed.

The musician was 78 years old and died today (January 3) from an infection in his heart, friend and broadcaster Pete Price wrote on social media.

I must have been 12 when I saw the movie "Ferry Cross the Mersey".

I never even knew that this page existed. I just wanted to say R.I.P. Leslie West. A guitar legend & true gentlemen. Great sense of humor and a very humble guy as well. The last time I saw Mountain was in '84 or "86, they opened for Triumph.
Was sad to hear of Leslie's passing ... I immediately took a listen to an old favorite bootleg of Who's Next with Leslie on lead guitar ... rest in peace brother ...

I never knew he played with The Who, very cool. The last time I saw The Who was '82 or '83, It's Hard tour. JFK Stadium, Philly. Then again at Shea Stadium at night. We took LSD, man the crazy 😜 things I did in the 80's.

From a Leslie West Interview

Sterling: I wanted to talk a little bit about Who's Next. What was your invlovement with that record?

Leslie: The Who's company were representing us in England. I think this was in about 1971, I got a call from Kit Lambert, one of their managers, asking would I play guitar on this new album they're doing? I said, "They have a guitar player." But he said, "Pete doesn't want to overdub, he wants to do it straightaway."

So I came in and we did the whole album, and then they went back to England, and Glyn Johns re-did it [with Townsend playing the lead guitars].And then sure enough, they re-released it in the Nineties, the Who's Next re-mixes. So it's on there, and it talks about me in the booklet. On one [bonus] cut especially, "Baby Don't You Do It", you hear me playing lead on the right, and Townsend playing on the left, the rhythm, and it was so thrilling to do that.
