How are you guys cleaning out the glass piece?

I've soaked it in both isopropyl (50% - haven't been able to find 90%+ since Covid) and PBW over two separate nights and there's still significant residue at the water-line.

Use the plugs to shake constantly too and adding some salt always helps

Changing water more regularly will help slow the build-up to start with...if you don't already.

Shaking it seemed to be the most important step that I missed, thank you for the tips. PBW has quickly become a staple.

Does anyone use a piece to capture reclaim instead of it all ending up in the main glass?

I just got the Rio last night , a slight learning curve, but I'm getting the hang of it. Still trying to get the cold start down, I found I had better results putting the dab on the center mass of the banger and heating it until it melted off that, does it matter where the dab is placed? I never had such flavorful hits off a rig before. My Evo would give me one or two nice flavor hits, but this just kept delivering. Is there a technique anyone can share to get the most out of the Rio? Thanks

I like my material in a corner on the floor of the core bangers. It will melt faster, allowing me to turn off the torch quicker, which I try to minimize torching to not black streak and chaz my quartz. On average, I tend to keep the torch on for about 3 seconds after beginning to melt/bubble. Your time may vary depending on how much material you are loading.

This product looks great. I live flavor and don't get as much flavor as I want with my current vapes. This seems like it may be easier to use than those e-rigs that people seem to like for a few weeks until a different one that does the exact same thing comes out. Of course some companies do it better. This sounds even better than the Switch!. All glass pathway so no nasty tastes! Seriously this is the one I'm getting next. Is there a rep on here for them? Or a contact person. I want to see if I can get a discount. Is the base silicone?

Try Randy at puffitup.com If you reach out to them and let them know you are a member here they will typically throw you a discount code. https://puffitup.com/products/the-rio-by-stache-products

I am not sure what the original bases are made of. I imagine 3D printed or just a mold made from plastics. You can get wood ones from @timberheaddesigns on IG. He is a member here also. https://timberheaddesigns.com/

Just got my Stache Rio in. First thing I noticed, no directions.....Looks simple to figure out but would have liked to have some directions.

So far I don't really like it at all. Doesn't come with directions and the butane torch doesn't even have a fill window like most, so it must be a really cheap torch. There is flame coming out but it's difficult to adjust/doesn't adjust at all. Well now I got it working, but my first two dabs taste like plastic/burnt rubber. However, I'm super baked right now so all is well. Just maybe I put the torch on too long. I want low temp dab for flavor, but it seems this live rosin always burns. It burned it the e-rigs I tried, and it just burned now using a torch/stach rio. I just do like 10 seconds next. When I come down enough to figure that out....

Hmm this time I put the live resin right on top of the "puck" inside the banger, was that how it's supposed to go?. Or do you put in on the side in the bottom in between the wall and floor. The latter being the one I started with before. It still tasted of burnt rubber but was less strong because the could was wispy...

If your LR gets scorched it is only because of one thing......way too high heat!

Wife just hates the torch. I'll have to find something else. I still have hope for the Dr.Dabber switch. It looks to me to be one of if not the best of the e-rigs. Sorry I didn't know if bringing up other products in this thread would be ok.

So errr Kins is your rio for sale then? But seriously I would give it some more time to get used to a device before giving up on it

You should give it a little bit of time before you make a final judgement. When I first started to use the Rio I would constantly over heat but now I know how to work with this vape, practice makes perfect they say. You are right that the torch should have a window to see your butane level, but my Big shot Blazer torch doesn't have one and I wouldn't call it "cheap" either. I put my concentrate at the bottom of the banger, if you put it at the top of the puck the heat takes too much time to reach it and melt the concentrate that's why the hit was wispy, not enough heat left after the resin melted to produce vapor. Watch when the resin start to boil that's the best indicator to know when to inhale. Also try with another concentrate, if that resin gives you trouble with other e-rig I don't see why it would behave differently in the Rio.

I thought the live resin would that burns with the e-rigs would be easier to start at a lower temp because the e-rigs start at way too high a temp. I figure only a few seconds to heat it up. However I accidentally burnt it by waiting too long I guess. Think I got one good hit but it didn't have any taste to it. However there it was almost not there, almost clear. It wasn't burnt at first, it just melted into a pool but it was still nice looking and not burnt. So I stopped, waited about 20 seconds and hit it again. This it burnt almost instantly but there was a lot of vapor, disgusting vapor but vapor and a thick cloud. It's so much easier this way though as compared to an e-rig. The e-rigs have those tiny little inserts and they set in the atomizer so they are attached to the "cap" or top part you can screw off. That, to me is just a stupid design. The only e-rig that doesn't have this problem is the or solved it is the Dr.Dabber Switch. They use "induction cups" and they have a ridge that is meant to be grabbed with reverse tweezers to remove it. It just sits inside the unit so you can take it out with the tweezers grabbing it by the edges. So you can get extras and just grab the old ones out with the reverse tweezers. Plus taking the induction cups out makes them easier to clean. With the other e-rigs you have to disassemble your atomizer just to get the stupid hot cup out!.

Have you ever had a good hit with this live resin, regardless of the method of vaporisation? I'm pretty new with concentrate myself but I know that when my concentrate isn't top quality than the session won't be good, the vaporizer won't save the experience. This goes for the Switch too.
