Never used one, but the size of that "bowl' is a real turn-off for me. You said in your review that "The point is to cover the bottom screen entirely which can easily be done with between .2-.3g of herb." That is 6 to 12 times the amount that I like to load up my vapes with and as such, would suffer dramatically in the efficiency department as compared to other vapes on the market. That lack of efficiency would be a deal breaker for me.

Oh really? I totally understand what you mean. But I normally loaded .2g with my first vape, the MFLB and I loved it! The fact that I can do it with the Plenty is just amazing to me so I guess that's one of the main reasons I like it. And .2 isn't a lot to me. It's higher than .25+ that is a lot to me!

I vape every single night and a gram lasts me almost a month and a half. Now granted, I understand that I'm an anomaly in this respect but to many, efficiency is really important and from the looks of it, the Plenty does not do that very well.

:hmm: That last sentence needed some proofreading. Just to be clear, lwien is used to loading very small amounts, as in .025g, which would be 90% less than the amount you're talking about.

Glad to hear you're happy with the Plenty. It is a good vape, but there are other models, lesser known but very high quality, that most members here end up preferring.

Edit- ".... I understand that I'm an anomaly in this respect"

I'm not quite as light of a user as lwien, but I'm in the neighborhood. Bowl size does matter for some vaporists.

Yeah I can definitely understand why the Plenty wouldn't be for you. To each their own!

In response to what you said about the design, there is a reason I did not mention it in my review. I am a person that personally rather have something that works great than looks good. Honestly when I received it and first used it I felt as thought it was light. Definitely lighter than I thought it would be.

It looks cool to me, even thought it does look like a power tool.

Yeah man, I understand. But when I say to me it means I am only speaking from my perspective. I knew the problems people had with the Plenty before I posted.

Edit: And on my scale I use for vaporizers, .20g = .2g and .25g > .20g.

It's great that there are so many vaporizers to choose from!

...huh? A gram lasts you a month and a half? What vaporizer are you using that allows you to get medicated every single night on that? That is quite incredible imo.

Also, to clarify, I use that one bowl pack to medicate 3-5 times, when I am 'good' I pull off the attachment cooling off the herb and allowing me to use it again next session.

Purple Days vaping every single night. Gram lasted a month and half.
LSV 5 nights a week. Gram last me a little over a month.

I just can't imagine that amount accomplishing much I guess. Also was hoping you were going to say the solo. Purple Days is off the market correct?

When you experienced guys come on here and denounce the Plenty it leaves with me buyer remorse and a sinking feeling...

Yes, it is off the market, but I'm almost getting close to that efficiency with the LSV. There are two other log vapes on the market, the UnderDog and the HI that should also be very efficient vapes simply by their design.

Regarding the Plenty, I have never denounced the Plenty as a bad vape. What I have said is that it would not be a vape that I would choose, but that doesn't make it a bad vape. Same with the Volcano. I don't like sucking on plastic bags to get my vapor, but that doesn't make the 'Cano a bad vape and more than making it the best vape on the planet just because you may like it.

If YOU like the Plenty and it is doing everything that you want from a vaporizer, than there is no reason that you should have buyers remorse or any kind of sinking feeling whatsoever. If YOU like it, that's really all that matters. The issue that I always take a stand on is when someone says that a specific vape is the best there is simply because THEY like it for that implies that just because they like it, that everyone else will as well, and is one of the reasons that I take VapeCritics ratings with a very small grain of salt.

I would absolutely agree that vapecritic's ratings should be taken with a grain of salt. The reasons I have a bit of remorse is because your stipulations are the same as my own. I was looking for conservation, and excellent rips. While I AM happy with my Plenty, knowing that the LSV (and possibly the solo), do better at that for less than or equal to the price gets me upset. I know it is irrational but it almost makes me upset with how this awesome website is set up. 255 forum pages for a single piece? HOW am I supposed to find the information I need? HOW am I supposed to find out how it compares to other vapes? One of us finds vapecritic, where we liked his presentation, and we find out that he has his OWN problems in likes/dislikes.

It is just really tough to be able to find a reputable source for the information we crave as consumers of a niche market.

I hope you don't take offense to my comments, it's just a ton of information to try to sift through...especially for a new consumer.

I really do thank you for everything you have helped me with!

When I said I liked VapeCritic I was referring to what he covers in his videos, not his reviews. I don't look at other people's reviews and automatically agree with them. I just like how informative he was and the amount of information in each video. And so far making a decision based off of his experiences has been fine so I guess that means my taste in vapes are similar to his.

My post was not saying the Plenty was the best, it was just saying I like my experience with it and am happy with my purchase, despite the negatives I heard pre-purchase.

Thank you though, lwien. Now I am doing research on the LSV to see if I will add it to my inventory.

Have you ever seen a newbie to mj trying to keep up with experienced users? I've seen tons of posts on forums like marijuana.com from new users telling about a scary experience (scary to them) where they've smoked way over their tolerance level, trying to keep up with their more experienced friends, and gone from a pleasant high into overdose territory where the effects are no longer pleasant. A low tolerance level isn't just for newbies. You can achieve it with light use even if you've been using on a regular basis for decades. A log vape (or any model with a small bowl that doesn't allow huge hits), used on a regular basis, is great for lowering tolerance. Other factors can contribute as well IMO. I won't speculate there, but people are different- age, physical condition, what else you're ingesting on a daily basis, etc. I see some people saying they go through an ounce every week or so and that's when I say 'I can't imagine .....'.

You don't have to read every post. Some are obviously short and offer little to no info. You don't have to read every word of the ones that do have good info. It would take me an hour or two to browse through a 255 page thread. If you're not willing to spend the time here reading first hand feedback, then you'll have to take your chances with blog sites where you're reading just one person's perspective.

My pleasure, OH. Helping others is one of the reasons I'm here.

In regards to the lengthy posts that you refer to, I totally understand where you're coming from but........even though you may spend some time going through these threads, this is the absolute BEST resource for vaporizer information. You don't need to read every single post. You can do some skimming, but what you will find is you will find not only information about how a particular vape compares to other vapes, but you will also read posts about how to get the best out of the particular vape that you are researching. You will find the good, the bad, and the ugly and you will find out information that you never even thought about asking for simply because you don't know what you don't know. ;)

When I first came here and wanted to research the Purple Days before I purchased it, I spent two weeks reading through just one thread, but I found it interesting. And talk about a lengthy thread, the PD thread has 431 pages. lol

You're welcome OMEiAM.

Regarding the LSV, if you already have some glass that you used to smoke though like a bong or bubbler, the LSV is just about a no brainer, it's that good. An almost 100% glass vapor and air path with absolutely no draw restriction allows for a very tasty, very thick, very voluminous hit while at the same time, providing hardly any lung distress whatsoever, especially if you hit it through a bong filled with warm water, and.........it's only 189 dollars. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/7th-floor-life-saber-lsv.2641/page-150#post-486150

255 pages in an hour? I would not be able to do that. I am too anal. It would be nicer if every vape had it's own forum, with many different threads in each forum, that is all I am saying.

LSV is on sale for 189, is that what is going on?

WOW, thank you VERY MUCH for that update, I really was about to order it today thinking I was getting the great deal. I am definitely going to stay tuned to this than.

I am on the market for a nice piece of glass and a solo...but after our back and forth I am doing a glass piece and a LSV I believe :).

Reviewing the Plenty, or even discussing it, has been a challenge in this thread. But...its like talking about a hammer. It works, every time, without fail; what's to discuss?

Seriously though we should all be trying to come up with some creative accessory mods for this beast.

I guess the key word here is "works".

The quest is, and always has been here at FC is to not only find vapes that "work" better, but to discuss how to make vapes that do work, work better.

Might be a little off topic, but i find it quite interesting that you guys are referring to the LSV as a very efficient vape. I made quite the opposite observation using it. It burns thru my herb like a flamethrower thru butter. No where near as efficient as my volcano. But maybe i am doing something wrong here =).

How exactly do you guys use the LSV to make it that efficient?

Weird. I found bag vapes, any bag vape to be one of the least efficient vapes on the market.

There's no trick in making the LSV a pretty efficient vape. Just load up .05gr in either the wand or the WPA, set temp to about 380F (judged by color of ABV) and take a med-slow draw. With very good bud, medium grind, medium moisture content, I'm able to get 2 VERY large hits and 3 smaller hits with this load.

But this is the Plenty thread. You may want to go over to the LSV thread and do some reading to find further info on how to use the LSV. Check out post #3698 on page #148.

Compared to the Plenty, which can produce consistent temps every time all the time... That's the thing about the LSV. Since the heater covers are hand made, the hole on the shaft that is the cool air intake, is blown out by hand. Also, the length of said heater cover is never the same. So right there you have two variables that will drastically effect efficiency.

That hole can be small, or large, and its placement is key. So its possible that some heater covers have the perfect storm of having just the right hole size, at just the right place, to really bring some serious heat. Then there are others with a big hole, placed horribly, and it can barely vape. Also the heating element itself isn't locked into any position, so how far it extends towards your herbal chamber is also in play here.

The LSV is super serviceable so take a look at your setup if it needs modding, they are designed to accommodate. You can dial it in as needed (if needed).

Both the Plenty and the LSV need some sort of stand that locks them in for use with attachments. I know the Plenty has rubber feet on the side, but I would like it sitting up so I can see the dial, and reload without holding the unit.

I have been sticking the brush that comes with the Plenty into one of the screw holes, it's a perfect fit, and use that to stand it up. Found that tip here in the forums, works like a charm.

I'm happy to have discovered this forum, especially as a new vapor enthusiast. I actually purchased the Plenty as my first vape prior to discovering this forum, and I must say I'm happy I did, since I'm pretty certain I would have been dissuaded had I read this thread. Now, since this is my first vape many may take this with a grain of salt, but I am happy to report that the widespread concern over its efficiency is not an issue in the slightest, at least in my case. Like lwien, I have a quite a low tolerance, and the Plenty - with just a sprinkling of flowers to lightly cover the bottom screen (<.07g) - delivers enough to keep me medicated for a good 6-8 straight hours, or off and on throughout the day instead. I'm convinced that - like another poster mentioned - efficiency is 99% up to the user. Just wanted to chime in, I hope this might add a little food for thought for anyone considering this vape, but are questioning its ability to conserve.

Yeah I pretty much only use my Plenty these days too, it's my favorite of the several vapes I've purchased and currently own, by a pretty big margin... I did happen to read this thread before purchasing it, and I'm glad I listened to the rest of the internet. :2c:
