All very dull doing a post of what I've been up to while Imgur is playing up, the whole thread is empty.
Two weeks full on outdoor office build have taken place and I'm on the last few bits. Part lined out, just need to drop some cables in.
Mrs. PP is so happy I've got the okay to share the space which will be good as the internet connection in my shed is poor.
Got more blanks arriving from the Ukraine this week.
A couple of videos for a bit of visual stimuli

@felon167inc it all depends on material used for the mid section.
The red acrylic is £75, the Amboyna is £85 as the blank is more expensive.

@HD Springer I have Scots blood in me so I'm duty bound to support any team other than England.
All over and done with now, just got that orange twat on TV for a few days then it's back to Brexit mayhem.
I remember buying a new set of pulleys for my lathe and as I know they are problematic I've made sure and service it. It's gone thru two belts since I've been running it and now another set of pulleys have gone on the headstock.
It's been noisy for a while and the speed controller has never been very good.
Final straw today, it started wobbling around like an unbalanced car tyre and enough was enough.
This is not supposed to happen, I've done harder turds than this die cast piss poor excuse for metal.
New lathe ordered this afternoon and I paid extra for a delivery tomorrow morning.
Luckily the supplier had a 10% discount running during the world cup so my new lathe is coming home
All over and done with now, just got that orange twat on TV for a few days then it's back to Brexit mayhem.

Damn I never finished my last post. Sorry. I was going to say I don’t doubt that you’ve already destroyed your lathe. You’ve been turning enough wood and material these last few years to supply all of fc with VC stems. Lol. Jk.

But seriously I hope your new lathe is everything you wished your old one was. If that makes any sense.

New lathe turned up this morning so I got it finished.
45mm of Figured Tasmanian Blackwood with a full length SS condenser and Ti insert.

@phattpiggie your work is stunning to say the least!Had a full on week getting an office set up outside for Mrs PP, got her working from home a couple of days a week which is great. The structure is up and roofed just needs insulating and powering up.
I've been told repeatedly I'm to stay out when it's finished.
The Blackwood Open Twist I mocked up with the different glass was destined to get a different condenser design.
Pomegranate polyester over SS with a Ti insert.
All the bits show how life started out for this stem.
I love the way the pomegranate looks like it's moving up and down the twist.
That twist is exactly the one I was talking about

The shape of the first one in the video is awesome . Not that the others aren’t ? But I am particularly fond of the first one . But I haven’t seen a @phattpiggie piece that I didn’t like .
