Volute of Vapor
The flat mouthpiece seems weird to me, maybe because it seems so alien to me. My lips just want something to grab onto, so I opt for the raised piece.
The first times I used my Pax3 I opted for the raised mp but I found the vapor stream to be very hot on my lips, so I tried the flat mp which was surprisingly a lot better about that aspect and even smoother vapor.

On the debate about half pack lid versus full pack lid I want to say I'm using the half pack lid the most BUT , when I have a long car drive (+1 hour is long for me!), I grab the full pack lid, with a tight pack of well grounded flowers and I'm ok for a +40mn session!

I have been firmly set on the flat mp since I got it..never used the raised mp much didn't enjoy the feedback.

My Pax 3 has developed a bit of an issue...noticed a lot less draw resistance and a gap between one side of the mp and body I have 2 tiny dings on the top of the units edge at the mp end (Same side but opposite corners, 1 dent is old 1 is new), but it doesn't really seem to impact the inner edges shape.
I now have to cover the whole top with my mouth/lips to get a non airy draw but it isn't the same.

Really worried I've screwed my Pax3....

Have you tried an alternate flat mouthpiece?

I've found over time, it seems like the mouthpiece becomes a little looser. Not so much that it would fall out, but it becomes a but easier to remove and insert for cleaning. I can use a finger nail to pop the top off.

With my newest Pax 3 the mouthpiece is still firmly held in place and it takes the multi tool to remove.

I don't have a spare mouthpiece but thought this could be the case..I did soak my mouthpiece in Iso overnight a few nights back and then hot water and then it obviously fitted great..

It has been getting easier to remove recently and I remember it being almost impossible without using the tool when newer.

After trying the flat mouthpiece again I partook in 2 sessions and promptly switched back to the raised mp. I wouldn't go as far as to say I hate the flat one, but the raised one is more natural feeling to me.

I'm pleasantly surprised how easy it was to quit combustion with my new PAX3 (and other portable) this year. I haven't gotten my glass pieces out since January. These new devices are so damn good at what they do there is no desire to go back to the old ways. No lighter to blow out out on the golf course or windy boat ride. No ashes burning holes in shit anymore. Most importantly, no more sore throats or lungs. And what a HUGE bonus when I got into keeping my AVB to make into infused coconut oil! After all the fun of vaping the stuff, I then get to make AMAZING no bake cookies, rice krispie treats, and other yummies that give a great buzz that last for 3-6 hours!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Merry-Wanna to all!

Tried the raised mouthpiece tonight which hasn't been used much and the fit was much better but the slight gap on one side of the inside oval still present.

Perfomance was similar but not as airy..still don't like the performance/feedback of the raised mouthpiece.

Will have to persevere with my flat for now.:bang:

It can't hurt to reach out to Pax. Maybe you can get it fixed/replaced under warranty.

Yeah, this this is magic.
We played with this last night alllll night man. F'in engaged it in maaad syphs.. not so much that, it just never ceased going from the first pack. It was insane >.< I ain't ever seen nothin' like this. It never ceased to stop. Round and round and round it went. I think it's the sheer size of the bowl to be able to afford for five people in a room to bounce that thing off one another for as long as we did back to back. This thing is dynamite man..
only thing that delayed us with this thing was having to quickly charge it here and there

Does anyone know if I can use a regular wall USB charger or Pax 3 is made to charge via USB on a PC? If someone has the right "specs" for a wall charger I'll be thankful. I'm off to a trip and I'm not taking my PC, just a regular charger and the USB cable that comes with the PAX. Also, if anyone knows, I was thinking if that may prejudice battery life. Cheers.

I don't have the "specs" on what the Pax 3 requires, but I can tell you that I have successfully been charging my Pax 3 using either a 1.5 A or 2.5 A USB wall charger for the last six months.

Pax makes a wall charger for their devices. It cuts the charge time in half.

Use OEM only chargers with your vaporizer devices. Be safe

@JCharles not disagreeing with you on how using OEM is always preferred.
If I had to purchase an OEM AC charger for every device I own, my junk drawer would be a junk cabinet. :)

If going the route of using an AC to USB adapter, I would purchase a quality brand and not some $5 convenience store device that may not properly regulate the output voltage and amperage.

As the output of a PC USB port is 5V at 2.5 Watt (USB2) or 5V at 4.5 Watt (USB3), using Pax's 9V output charger must really speed up the charge time on the Pax!

Edit: Changed USB port specs. Need to remember Electronics 101 and Ohms law

Hi all,

Looking for some advice/help.
I was given a Pax 3 for Christmas. BUT the stoke has worn off pretty quick after not being able to connect to the app. I have tried both my galaxy s5 and also an ipad.
Searching online everything suggests i have received a fake based on the bluetooth issue. I have deleted/reinstalled the app, restarted phone etc etc.. everything that is suggested. The packaging etc seems to match the authentic stuff as per the info available online.
I am in Australia, this gift was sent to me from overseas, so I am waiting for further purchase details from my friend to attempt to register the vaporiser to see if it may be authentic and some other problem..
Is there any other way of confirming without doubt, the authenticity? Any ideas on what i can try regarding the bluetooth?

Any info/suggestions would be really appreciated..

cheers!

Reach out to Pax and ask them to confirm the number.

I believe it may be the phone/iPad you are using. I had heard reports Apple dropped many vaporizer apps from their store, and the android version may also be an issue.

Try some google-fu, people are reporting they need to restart their phone to get connectivity, or that they need to try and pair while the app is on the charger....

Where was the device purchased from?

Ps - the app is basically useless IMO. Pax did a good job with the base mode and temperatures. I have two Pax 3's and don't use the app for either of them.

They have not dropped apps. That’s been proven false. It applies to cigarettes and nicotine, not vapes.

You're right! The whole thing was a consperacy theory from some firefly2 owners as to why the app disappeared from the store, turns out they never updated it to 64bit compatibility. They finally updated the app and its back on the store. All the other app including the pax, davinci, crafty all never got taken down in the first place, and the ghost just came out with there new ios app.

NOT! Know your specs, your connector and polarity and use any quality PS you have access to. And remember to match voltage and polarity, and to at least match the current spec. You can use PS’s that have a higher current rating, as your device will only sip what it needs.

Apologies. My 2 minutes of google-fu to solve another members problem turned up a few results for the Apple store dropping vaporizer apps.

I don't use Apple products. Nor the Pax app.

If the devices will only sip what is needed, why do they tell you not to overcharge - shouldn't be possible?

My point is, I'm not going to recommend someone goes against the manufactures advice to use a non OEM charger.

I'm sure any one who knows to match polarity, voltage, connector and current specs would be knowledgeable regarding batteries and could deduce for themselves an alternate device may work.

How shitty would it be if someone bricked a device or had a battery blow while they were using it (possibly in their face) based on your advice to ignore the warnings from the manufacturer?

Again, be safe.

My advice was not to ignore any manufacturer’s warnings, but to learn the gear and concepts behind their systems. A device won’t overcharge because you have a PS of 3A when the device needs, say 1.5A. Like a light bulb on a household circuit, a 100 watt light bulb on a 15 amp circuit will draw .83A.

My advice is safe.

PS a manufacturers advice to use OEM is more motivated by finances than practicality or safety

@Lost in the clouds

Hey guys! We've updated our PAX Mobile app. It's laying the groundwork for future additions but the highlights are a complete redesign, more resources + tutorial videos, and PAX 3 owners can now set their temperature to 340°F (175°C). Unfortunately though, we are no longer able to support iOS 8.0.

Share any feedback you have for the team!

Thanks for the replies everyone!!

I will follow up with PAX.. its not so much that i need to use the app but also attempting to confirm authenticity. After searching online regarding bluetooth issues it has now put doubt in my head regarding it being a genuine product. I did try restarting phones, reinstalling apps, different order in connection process etc as suggested online but with no luck.. I do not know purchase information unfortunately, as it was a gift sent to me and feeling awkward as to how to ask for these details and suggesting to my buddy that im questioning its authenticity.. If it comes to that i will.. but i may see what i can get from PAX first..

Thanks again for the replies!
cheers ✌
