Your site kept crashing on my iPhone.

Oh dang. Haven't been able to replicate but I've flagged the team and am keeping an eye out for other reports. If you're seeing it consistently and can share steps to replicate, we're all ears!

I don't understand the pax2 differences to explain the differing warranties (that's where the site kept crashing). So that part was a little confusing.

The new $149.99 PAX 2 kit is available in only Charcoal and Platinum, and that one comes with the 2 year limited warranty.

The original PAX 2 kit (now $174.99), with those colors + Flare and Topaz, comes with the 10 year limited warranty. This one is only going to be available while supplies last.

Both come with the same accessories, and are the same device and Brushed finish, but note that the charger is now our Mini-Charger. The warranty period is the main difference.

And have I said what I REALLY want is a pax convection vape... pretty please???

You have! ;)

Btw, are there any upgrade promotions?

There isn't an official trade-in program, but we're continuing our "Original PAX to PAX 3" option, which is secondary to warranty services. Instead of doing the normal repair/replace process for an original PAX, we'd recycle the device and email a website credit towards a PAX 3. Currently there isn't an option for PAX 2. Our support team can share the finer details, so anyone interested should reach out if their original PAX is exhibiting warrantable symptoms!

Anyone else take huge rips with their Pax 3 through water pipes?

@Ojan_at_PAX
I've noticed my Pax 3 seems to just turn off after a few big hits. I'm not sure if it's over heating (on the orange heat setting w/20-30s btw hits) or timing out.

If it's timing out and app update that would let us turn off that feature along with the cooldown would be awesome. Or is there something like that all ready I dont know about?

So I've been lurking for years have the odd post here and there.
I'm also wondering about this. My pax 2 would haul and haul with a water pipe and the delta water adapter on setting one. But with the pax 3 I get one or two hit then it cools down. It would be great to be able to turn of the auto cooling and the time out. So that I could set the custom setting as my water filter setting.

I have the WT adapter and have used it with my pinnacle pro hydrotube and it works well. I have a larger bong that I will have to try it with as wel. Keep your fingers on the rubber piece so it acts as "lip sense". Seems to work fine for me.

When I've tried to use my fingers to activate the re-heat it does not actually come back up in temp. Unless I'm not doing it right.

Those are the hits I get but like one or two then it's very thin or almost nothing.

I've always gone with a sandwich method for concentrates and the pax. Gives huge rips with less mess.

Earlier in the thread @ohmygodimsohigh had an awesome hack for concentrates through water.

Can you expand on how your doing this? It seems like it would be a mess in the bowl with out the concentrate can.

Ordered a 3D oven screen and pusher attachment from a UK based auction site seller £9 for both pieces delivered! (Cheaper than having to import from US!)

Have tested the screen a couple times today: it seems to give a more consistent and less airy draw (but still a tight one)..however it makes it less forgiving if you over pack the bowl or use too fine a grind...

For some reason I feel it mutes the flavour too? With the screen being thicker than the original it seems to hold more heat and almost over toast the herb at times...I will do some more testing and breaking in with this to make my mind up...obvious drawback is that it isn't designed to fit snuggly and falls out when the load is emptied and is too hot to touch for quite some time.

As I have the Pax 3 I already I dont really need the pusher part but they came as a pair and It could serve as back up if I ever lost my half pack lid!

Would love to hear other peoples experiences with the 3D Screen

Gotta say I've been pretty disappointed with the performance of the Pax 3 with concentrates. Feels like an afterthought, at best.

Still enjoying my Pax 3 more and more as time goes on! But I never did put up my huge list of use notes as a type of review.
(I also forgot to thank @Mr. Me2 , @BuzzDanklin and @macbill for their big help with choosing this device! And the other posters here too thanks!)

Just got use of a device to run the app and that's fun too, the efficiency profile seems to suit my use and it's cool how it ramps temp, and the flavor profile works very well too, maybe good for indoors.
It's true you can sense the different profiles if you're used to standard profile.
I found it great to set the fifth temp right between setting 1 and 2 and I can use that temp. from start to finish. This works better when set in farenheit as it seems to round off in celcius.
My favorite light pattern is Sunset I think. It might be nice to get one or two upgraded light patterns in the app.
Great battery for the tiny lightweight size, fast heat, lovely tastes and experience and does short draws or nice longer ones.
Well designed easy loading and the reclaiming and cleaning I find really easy.
Thin aluminium capsules would be nice, and half capsules!
I would recommend Pax 2 and 3 to a friend and the new price will help.

This price drop and refresh is interesting, great for more new people to try and the matte is attractive.
The fact that the Pax 3 released about a year and a half after the Pax 2, and it's a year since Pax 3,
and they've dropped some prices, and just changed their logo on here now...
is making me smile!

hmm....

Wow, that's a good gesture @Ojan_at_PAX . Wish my original PAX didn't get stolen by the towing company LOSERS while I was getting put in traction by the EMT's. I bought from Ploom, theres no chance of any coverage I may have towards a new unit for some crazy warranty claim from a lost PAX? I doubt it but figured I'd ask! I miss my OG PAX. I still have the charger and box :(

Not seen those and it's probably my biggest bug at the moment when out and about with my Pax 3.

For now I carry small plastic screw top pots used for after market nicotine vape mouthpieces (probably 5-10ml in capacity) with ground herb inside ready for loading.

But those kups could be handy if they work well and dont restrict the draw further.
Thanks for sharing

I really hope the Pax 4 has a new lower starting temp of 340F It's both cruel and stupid to start at 360 imo I would use it so much more if it did...

@VaporAssassin I haven't found a workaround for keeping the oven at temp when using the WPA. It's one, maybe two hits and the unit turns off. (There is most likely a way using the app - but I don't use it - can't film milking shots or surf the net and use it the app same time)

The finger thing doesn't work for me either.

The first hit (or two) can be massive. So I've just been tossing the bowl (half pack) when it turns off.

Making sandwich concentrate isn't too bad. I'm using around 1/4 to 1/3 of a dab of shatter between herb in the half pack oven. It's generally very clean - the shatter melts into the flower.

Not sure how other concentrates would do though.

Very cool trade in on the Pax. I know a few people who may be interested.

As far as the 10 year warranty devices- if we need to send them in for repair or parts, will we continue to have the 10 year warranty on a new unit?

Any news of a Pax 4 by X-mas? Looking at their timeline of releases, I think it may be more like next x-mas...
Would love to see a ceramic bowl/inside path and a lower temp setting :)

Just pulled the trigger on a Pax 3. I'm so excited. The bowl size is great, a small bowl hinders portability, imo. Less time wasted refilling the bowl too. It sounds like everything I want in a portable dry herb vape.

Yeah, I am amazed at the improvements over my original Pax 1. This one is amazing. Solved the biggest problem with the 1 getting rid of that mouthpiece. I've been using mine through water quite a bit and it's awesome! 22 second heat up time is a total game changer as well. My Pax 1 would take at least a minute and 20 seconds to heat up. And the heating profiles are fun to play with. I'm loving it and surprised this thread isn't more active!

Thin aluminium capsules would be nice, and half capsules!

Just discovered these (have a feeling I'm late to the party.) Are they worth it?

https://www.budkups.com/pax-vaporizer-accessories/

I second the demand on a capsule system!

Got the Pax3 since December '16 and love the device. It's my go to vape if I am in company with more than one friend. So easy to share with no need to explain anything, just let them take a few draws. Takes out a lot of awkwardness for the whole vape thing to someone unexperienced.

Only gripe right now is the fiddly refill. Although the multi tool is helping a lot, a capsule system with a sleak storage container would fit perfectly in the otherwise hassle free usage.

Also need to do something about my warranty issue with my Pax but I can't find a timeframe where I would not bother to be without my Pax for a few weeks. :D
The battery indicator of my Pax seems somewhat defective. It always shows 100% loaded and only sometimes drops to 75%. When battery is getting low the led colors get that pink hue so I know it needs a recharge...

Would love to have something like the Storz&Bickel Capsule Caddy for the Pax.

Was recently really enjoying the Flavor profile, and never going above setting 1!
Niiice

I kind of joke around with the name Herb Stick Deluxe while I'm using this, as it's like a little stick for herbs, and it tastes and performs very deluxe when dialled in!

The Pax 3 is great. Way better than my Tyga x Shine Pillar. With the Pillar, I'll use it all day because the high it delivers isn't that great. One bowl on the Pax and you're good. Great flavor too.

Microdosing and Pax 3

As a lightweight I'm always looking for devices that support microdosing. On a regular day one or two sessions with 0.05g each usually work perfect for me. Since last week I thought that the Pax and microdosing are two seperate things which just don't work together, even with the half pack lid the chamber was too huge for a single session for me alone. And stretching a half packed oven over three days was possible, but only tasting nice for the first day.

Since thinking about capsules for the Pax I wondered if there is an easy way to change that. And my mind came up with a solution that was maybe kind of too close to see the other days, microdosing is possible with just the stock items the Pax 3 comes with!

All you need is a charged Pax 3 with a screen inserted, a dismounted concentrate tray and the normal lid. Scale out 0.05g and break it loose by hand. fill the tray without stuffing it in. insert tray without the cap in the Pax. Put the lid on, it fits snug. Vape :)

The vape characteristics remain intact, a loaded tray needs about 10-20 draws to finish and the heat settings remain very close to a regular filled oven. Sure, vapor production is not on the same level as with a stuffed oven. Picture shows a tray vaped until third heat setting, so it gets even darker on the fourth.

Even 0.025g work well enough, but vapor gets more whispy and the herb needs to be allocated more precise around the holes in the tray to give an even roast to it.

Maybe nothing overwhelming for the most Pax users, but I love it since it allows me to enjoy the act of vaping a little more without boosting my tolerance more then needed. Very chilled to sip on a microdose for a few minutes without being trashed afterwards.
