@OregonStoner I have a few very minor scratches on mine but nothing really too noticeable. Overall it does seem like its going to hold up worse than the Pax 2 finish, but so far its not as bad as I was originally anticipating. With that said, there are a lot of third party pax sticker skins (including clear ones), plastic/rubber skins, and also various soft and hard cases which could be an option if you wanted to keep the finish in brand new condition.

Dang, sorry to hear. Two right petals flashing blue can mean an internal issue, but it can also be triggered if the device is very cold - like left in a car overnight or something. If you're seeing it happen pretty much every time you turn it on, and you've already held it/left it on the charger and it's warmed a bit, then we may need to take a closer look. Can you message me your support ticket number? I'll fast track this for ya.

PM inbound. Thanks.

It's definitely not a cold issue. All occurrences have occurred indoors while fully charged.

Just got my. PAX 3 today. I've run a couple half ovens through it. First impression is I like it I had never used a PAX 2, so this was new for me. I like the size, and the heft. The half oven lid s great, perfect amount for me. I also bought a case, so not so worried about the finish. I did notice that the top and bottom edge seems to be pretty sharp. There can't be much of a radius here. If it continues to bother me I will probably knock that edge off. Other than that looking forward to having some fun with this thing.

If you read his first paragraph he was talking about a vape that started @200 degrees.

I'm sorry the Pax isn't for you guys, I'm sure there are plenty that are. But to come in here and fuss about a vape that you already know is out of your range is just silly.

They must be doing something right, they aren't one of the most popular portable vapes for no reason.

Ah, no, i said the G Pen Elite starts at 200F. I was suggesting that if a cheap plastic POS like that has full temp control, why doesn't the most advanced blah blah vaporizer on the market with a freaking APP give me more control than four presets and ONE custom slot i can't set beyond those presets in either direction?

Like why not? Why not set all five how i like them?

You're complaining that I'm complaining? Really? Feedback is how these companies improve their products - IF they listen to it. You get that right?

I went back to see if you were a tobacco or lavender person as I also read of another issue in the Solo thread, and I see the answer might be in your original question.

Most people are using these devices for weed.

Even chamomile and others are vaped at 190c. The owners said in the Solo thread, that device (12 minute timer, pax-like temp range) seems aimed at FC's favorite herb.
I think the Mighty 2 minute timer is perfect for a bowl of chamomile, but definitely too short for a full bowl of herbs that contain more essentials.

I too was slightly surprised to learn from your pointing it out that the full range isn't there.
But I don't think I need it in a portable, and the reason for it not being built in must be that the majority of people don't need it.
Possibly coupled with restraints on temperature sensor or circuit design, or saving the space and budget for other features.

It is worth asking in case they can change it easily, but be aware it might be beyond the ranges of the equipment they designed based on it's intended uses.

If they had advertised it as Master vape of rolling tobacco and lavender, then you could complain!

When you can do more you can do less. When you can do N distinct temperature settings, you can do as many as you want. This is a digital vape...

Heck even crappy Chinese units have been doing freely selectable AND feedback-loop based temperature control for years now. The reason is definitely not technical.

I was over speculating alright! It could be a (4 petal) interface matter or an issue of not being able to select without the app.
Now I think it might be a user friendly feature so that even the noobest can get good vapor once they fill it and turn it on.

I did ok with a four setting vape before, this would far exceed that for me but just doesn't allow for those who want lower temp uses apparently.

182C does sound warm for the lowest temp compared to some general consensus, especially if you filled this bowl, but all vapes differ completely and I've never tried these.

I think I have mine narrowed down to gold or silver, unless I went black!
Now I just need some mo' money!

Anyone else try the concentrate lid yet? I've tried mine twice now and it worked well. Definitely did the job. Not a huge fan of how the lid sits out so far but function wise it just works.

I've used the concentrate lid twice and had pretty good luck. It wouldn't be my "go to" for concentrates but like you said, it gets the job done.

I just got an old friend to purchase a pax3 last week or so...they said they paid $40 extra for overnight shipping, but the package wasn't overnighted and she said she tried to contact pax about it...but theyou refused to refund the expedited shipping fee (though it WASN'T expedited)

I was shocked and assured her pax SHOULD make it okay...I have never heard anyone complain about pax CS!
@Ojan_at_PAX

BUT to chime in on the temperature settings...there are plenty of vapes that offer single digit temp selection and we all have grown to love the concept.

To be fair to what I SEE, I think that they are really shooting for the iPhone of vapes by giving you a ridiculously easy to use interface that anyone can safely use without damaging the unit or any of its parts.

Extra buttons would create extra weak spots increasing the reason why a vape would need to be serviced. That's why the apps interface controlling it is a gold idea IMO.

Also the pax is one of the few vapes you can let newbs hit with little to no instruction and they get great results.

To experts like us it's un-needed. But I have been able to generate a few pax sales over the years because of its simplistic design

Well that's not what I'd expect to hear! Would love to get more info, or their support request number, if you know it. No one should pay for a shipping method they didn't receive. PM me if you can point me in that direction and I'll see what's up.

They are shooting for the iPhone vibe. The Pax 14S will come out NOW WITH FULL TEMP CONTROL!! Hype hype hype.

Or somebody will hack the firmware on the p3 in a couple months.

I can wait. : )

So - @Ojan_at_PAX has been a 10 in terms of help. Unfortunately, the entire PAX experience hasn't followed suit.

I detailed the issues in my support ticket (flashing blue lights, right side/auto shut off) and got an essentially canned reply thanking for my charging inquiry and advising me regarding appropriate charging. My issue isn't charging and the reply appears designed simply to close out the support ticket.

I am curious to know if Pax monitors CS workers' caseloads for time from start to finish, rather than quality of the work.

I am frustrated.

Stay charged, my friends
Nice review, I really like the size of the pas. It when I checked it out in the store, yesterday it was kind of gross since so many greasy fingerprints were showing all over it. @Ojan_at_PAX please beg the powers that be at Pax to produce a special edition non-shiny finish those that can't stand the shiny finish...

I recieved my Pax 3 a couple of days ago and I'm working my way through the first load. As a lightweight a full bowl lasts me a while and after ten 10sec draws on first temp through yesterday and today there is still tasty vapor coming out. Like it a lot so far, very easy to use is the first thing that impressed me.

I also like the shiny finish a lot and I want to explain why. Sure it attracts fingerprints and such a lot but since I use the flat mouthpiece and me and my eventual partakers need to put the lips on this surface I see it as an hygiene indicator. I appriciate to quickly see if there is any nasty stuff on the surface before I hand the vape over or put my lips on it. Just because on older models you couldn't see it doesn't mean the gunk wasn't there.

Taking it for a walk at 40°F yesterday I was surprised to see two blue bars on the right at first attemp to turn it on. It was gone after another try to turn it on but I hope not to see it more often anytime soon.
