Got a link?Harvest season came and seems to be bringing me some extra big and super dense buds...
Those big budded beauties revived my dreams of an XL OMD.
Wonder if @OMD has got any updates on that big chunk of SS that was in the pipeline?
I can not wait to get my hands on one!
My buds and i are ready for it!
I use a full ceramic bearing and that makes it spin for ages (well, for minutes tbh).
Has pro's and cons so it's a choice one has to make...
Pros:
-spin time
-ease of cleaning (can be fully submerged in ISO)
-no lubricants needed
-spin time (or did i say that already?)
Cons:
-OMD does not advise them because the ceramic (being harder than SS) might scratch/shave the central post when opening/closing
-mine only came in white so no fancy color options (there are hybrids i believe, combining ceramic balls and ss housing?)
-mine is open top so in theory more prone to dust/particles getting in there (didn't have that issue yet but i'm a bit mindfull about nothing getting in there)
And a fine grind plate option!

So I've been happy as a pig in shit with my aluminum Rasta colored BCG for going on what seems forever, even though it's only been 4 years or so,, with medium and coarse plates. Never even gave a thought to replacing it.......until recently. Had the Aroma 3 for several weeks now and well, the BCG has been replaced. This is an amazing grinder. Thanks @VGOODIEZ for stocking this.

Can only second all the praise to this amazing and haptically really pleasing grinder.
My only minus is an aesthetical one. Would not have expected the bottom to catch tiny scratches as easily as it does just moving between my table and couch. Probably my fault in expectation as I guess it's rather normal with shiny steel.

Sure hopes the XL comes with different grind plates, so i don't have to upgrade my OG necessarily.
You happen to know if that means there will be three sizes available or is the default plate one of the two sizes?

He responded to a guy who wanted to buy an Aroma-3, telling him that he could take advantage of the 10% discount until December 31st.
And he said this too:
"Yep! I have my own dedicated prototyping machine on the water coming from Japan right now. Expect plenty of new things from OMD in the near future
"Honestly, I can't say for sure.
But he only says that fine and coarse plates will be his priority with the XL when he returns on the 1st

Does anybody know how tall the Old Mate Aroma 3 is? I looked on the website and they only list the diameter. I need to know how tall it is to be sure it will fit in my cubby shelf.

Mine is a Founders Edition, but I believe size is the same.

It's here finally! Took some time with international travel and stuff, its awesome first grinder i really enjoy to own, always had cheap ones and went back to using swiss army knife scissors, its a beauty very well machined and grinds like a beast.
