So there is this guy that commented like 10+ times on the last OMD update video (
), he does not like the change to the magnet with the two grooves for the fingers to lift the lid.
At first I was not giving this too much thought, but recently I am now wondering the same, what are we gaining & giving up for the new design? Were the comments in the first video too quick to jump onto an idea of another storage compartment

The screws give it a bit more of an industrial/technical look. The grooves make it look like almost more like a toy, maybe? Hard to just go off of these still pictures
I was also wondering what the compartment could be realistically be used for
- other herb I want to grind. So I grind a first batch, take the top off, put that aside, take the middle off, that aside, then dump from the bottom ontop of the top part? not sure how I feel about that "workflow"
- I dont think the new scoops would fit into the compartment without shortening them by a lot
- AVB/ABV storage?
- hidden ashtray for the smokers?
- customizing faceplates does work with screws too, just not as quickly. Is the threading more prone to user wear?
I very much love my mad headers reload, how it cleverly adds different tools and storage into this one cylinder. But I am wondering if the A3 XL is where it should be heading.
