So it arrived today after a month of waiting. Anticipation is one of the keys to happiness

It's solid and hefty. Feels great in the hand. Very nice craftmenship. There are some rough edges but I think I'll sand them down if they annoy me. Right now I don't mind. This thing seems like a tool and not a toy.... then the spinning brings some play to it.
It's has some sharp teeth. I bet it could grind walnuts no problem.
It was difficult for me to get the lid off at first but when I realized you have to line it up and finesse it off rather than tug it with force, it comes off easy.
The grind is great. Nice, fluffy and consistent. Very fun to use.

Apparently OMD is selling factory second Aroma-3s now on the website. It is listed as sold out at the moment. $32 AUD ($20 USD) off the normal price.
Also just wondering, how many of you out there have an Aroma-2? I've very rarely seen them out in the wild.

i received my new aroma 3 a couple of weeks now and I can safely say that this is the best grinder I have ever owned. It’s larger than all the others I’ve ever had but the way that it grinds with no metal on metal rubbing is something that I have always wanted in a grinder. its bloody brilliant and it’s hard to believe it’s taken all these decades messing around trying to unstick / unclog / clean seized grinders for some clever bugger to redesign it completely giving a whole new experience. Genius.
Looking forward to a mini version too If that was ever a possibility.
The aroma 3 is perfect for at home but it’s a pretty heavy chunk if I ever wanted to take it anywhere.

The key is pulling straight.
A little push on the center shaft with the tip of you index finger
while pulling with the other fingers and thumb helps get it started.

I found it's a less is more situation. If grip it near the top edges and not place my hand over the whole lid it comes off very easy.

I use an action, at first, more like a hinged clam shell opens, to get the magnet unstuck. Yes, the top also has to go straight up because of the center post.

Do you have a spare you could swap in to test or perhaps give it time to dry out? Just a hunch.

Every time I want to get a fine grind I grab my BCG and it bugs me as it takes so long to clean it after I use it... where as time and time again a quick brush cleans out the Aroma 3 and I hardly ever (2 times since I bought it) have to clean it more than a brush... I love this thing and am still hoping a large grinder or a fine grind plate comes out for the Aroma 3

Prototyping has begun for the XL model. I'm hoping to make a Aluminium prototype this weekend.
I usually have to do more than brushing when I get around to cleaning mine, locked solid ready for a deep clean, new to me Damnesia is really sticky.
