Liger banger V2.0

So, seeing how the next generation enail thread seems to be getting flooded daily with new information, finding answers related in specifically to the liger banger v2.0 from cca710.com is getting harder.

Please share all your experiences, tips and tricks here regarding this wonderful piece of kit, or tool as I like to call it.

My own experience.

First impressions where great. I mean, the detail that had gone into this, and the finish it has its simply the best I have seen yet.

I am surprised at how vibrant the colors in these nails come out. I have a fully golden banger and a purple storm cap (there version of the carb cap). This is my 16mm set up. I am also expecting a 20mm vapor bucket, that is interchangeable with the 16mm bucket on the same base of the nail.

I currently only have the quartz insert, but just received an email from Josh (owner of cca710.com, has been really helpful!) saying the SiC dishes are in and will ship asap.

For me the flavor with the quartz is insane. Mind you, I come from using titanium, so people already using quartz with torches might not find this improvement so pronounced. They might actually be turned off by the heated titanium that is in the vapor path. For me, it works great. And I do feel this set up allows one to enjoy a bit of the best of both worlds. It delivers on flavor, but even more, because of it being like inside a little titanium oven, I feel it actually helps with vaporizing better and more then quartz only would do. It seems to hold temperature more, or maybe even the whole bucket with insert is indeed acting as an oven? (Maybe there is even a bit of the same magic going on as with the sublimator?)

What I really like is how the titanium actually is an almost indestructible tool, protecting the quartz inside is belly.

Another thing I really like is how this is being build from the same platform. Meaning, all future updates /improvements will be made on the same base. So one can keep up with the updated easily, never so you need to replace the full nail, only the parts effected during updates.

Some little things are still being tweaked (like the hight of the inserts, so they cannot be destroyed when accidently screwing in the connecting tube too tight) but I am sure they will be worked out in future updates.

So anybody that owns one and wants to share his /her experience? Anybody on the fence of buying one and looking for information from people that already own one?

Let us discuss :-)

Oh.. I am waiting for my laptop to return from the shop, soon as it gets here I will add some pictures.

So much more to say, but I guess the start has been made...

Did I mention they are working on an attachment for dry herb....

Edit: Here are some pictures I found on my cell phone.

I just got my Liger V2 with the Quartz insert a few days ago and I'm really impressed. Josh is a big help when it comes to order status (my storm cell cap is on back-order till next week). Josh gave me a heads up right away and has kept me posted on progress. I know alot of the FC community were bitchin' that the price was high or Sic halo is the way to go but honestly I've tried most of the different style enails (with their respective attachments) and I love my Liger V2. I still believe you get what you pay for and the Liger is worth the money. I agree tepictoton it is like having your Quartz in a Ti oven. I barely get any pooling and I set my temps for more flavor than a super rip. Plus all upgrades can be added right to Liger instead of having to buy new updated version which is a cost saver for the long run. A definite solid build that can really perform ...

And the SiC inserts are on their way!!!

Josh send me more background info about SiC versus Sapphire, nice stuff to read about.

And yes, I have been kept very much up to date about the whole process. When I ordered my liger banger I actually ordered a v1.0. Without asking for it not even knowing about a v2.0 Josh upgraded my order to the V2.0 and send me info about the inserts.

I wonder if this little oven like setup might actually also add some positive effects to the whole process, and even might be used in a kind of sublimator way with dry flowers...

SIC DUE TO ARRIVE TOMORROW MORNING super excited to see if SIC is everything everyone else seem to think of it. Have over 3 grams....I have a brand new v2 liger specifically for the sic I'm gonna compare head to head quartz to sic I have a brand new quartz insert still in the bag and will pop that into my current liger to make the comparison more subjective...

Mine was supposed to be here two days ago, but then USPS decided to hand it over to the Spanish mail and it has been MIA ever since...

Great idea, and thanks for sharing it with us, and hopefully the results too

That sucks tepictoton are they real hard asses at customs concerning paraphernalia? I've been lucky whether it's been from China or US online headshops I've never had any issues.

Oh man that is a shame about the nail at customs bro!

Hopefully they cut it out and provide you your new dabbing goodies! :)

What's this mention of sapphire here, are CCA looking to do something with sapphire? Very interesting!

Thing is, it is not even the nail, just the insert and a 20mm vapor chamber...no idea about laws about paraphernalia, did not even think there are any? Always thought these paraphernalia laws where a US product...

Just wanting to keep the thread alive a bit...

My 20mm bucket and insert unfortunately is still stuck at customs... I send in all the paperwork they asked for, but up till now no response. Tomorrow would be the day they ship it back to the sender.

Hope they release it and I can still enjoy it.

I have been enjoying the 16mm vapor bucket with the quartz insert. It really brings out flavors that seem to have gotten lost when using titanium. I am also really surprised at how it keeps the heat away from my glass.

Hope some more forum members can shime in with their experiences. Still hoping the SiC dish arrives in a few days... Might be a nice very late Christmas gift...

Sorry to hear about the customs issue:bang:

I just got my Liger v2 in this morning. Went with the 20mm Silver. Decided against the inserts for now. Planing on grabbing both of them at some point, but I wanted to get a feel for the Liger alone. I feel like it would be the best way to notice how much quartz and SIC improve the experience. Lots of testing:science:

I'm very happy with how well the design keeps the heat off my rigs joint. Don't think I'm going to bother with a drop down unless i see claim building too fast. All in all I'm a happy camper so far:clap:

Hopefully I too will be a happy owner of the v2 soon, but in the mean time I have a request. Could you guys please share more pictures of your Ligers? Anything would be greatly appreciated. It's sad I can't really find any decent amount of pictures online. It's hard to decide on a product when you barely know what it looks like or functions like. Thanks in advance.

I would love to but haven't figured how to do that yet....I'll also post pics of the new honey hole carb cap

I got the v.1 before the holidays then got horribly Ill and couldn't use it much. I like the simple aesthetics although the v.2's extra features are nice too. The owner of this company is really into customer service and I will buy more from him for sure. His designs are all very thoughtful and result in excellent functionality. I should have ordered the awesome carb cap but was being frugal, and I'm keen to see his upcoming module for heating raw herb material.

Truthfully I chose this thing because of the SiC insert alone. It turned out leaps and bounds better than the other brand's product of the same material, and this banger-style cup works much more efficiently than the disc design. I'm getting full vaporization with no trailing at 560F (read from the SiC surface). Also the insert is incredibly easy to clean, and the thermal properties make it so easy to handle out of the ti bucket. I haven't torched it at all but can see that would work great too. The pics below are with the shallow side dirty, and all that needs done to return it to new is a light scrape and swab. You can see some light oxidation on the walls of the deep side where I've been touching the dabb3r to it, but that wipes right off too. I think the machined surface adds performance.

Awesome! Would it be too much to ask for a video aiming down into the bucket while dabbing at that temp? Thanks anyway for the pics.

  • Wow... initially I communicatedon't with Josh related to products I had purchased... given him some feedback ... apparently was interested in my opinion on the honey hole cap. Cuz he sent me one free of charge with out asking . I told himwhat was wrong in my eyes. He told me that he wasn't satisfied with itsome overall performance either which is why not for sale. (( Josh is such a awesome person. Straight up integrity over profit right there)) and that he was working on the it but that he was unsure of the exact causeor how to fix some of them. And told me if I had any ideas hedo love to hear them well I told I mean my thoughts process related to the causes and filled through with a few different possible fixes....He apparently was REALLY impressed cause when I mentioned that I had a few possibly innovative design ideas that i could not understand why similar weren't on the market.... now discussing the possibility of a collaboratively designed product or two((have only talked unofficially what that partnership would actually entail... but have done a lot of brainstorming on the features that would be available on our imagined perfect dab utensils.......all I have to say is I feel like Charlie and I found myself the golden ticket Wonk as factory.....only in my wildest dreams would I get to design my own dab toys.

Out of interest, have you actually owned/had much experience using a SiC Halo? You say that this SiC insert is much better than the SiC halo without any explanation as to why?

On the face of it (and with feedback from a fellow FCer who owns both) I am told that the SiC insert x Liger combo is not as good as the halo for larger dabs. From your pics it is easy to see how the oil could overflow into the Ti, especially when bumping occurs (bumping is common at low temps like you describe!) and potentially get sucked straight up the banger intake going into the rig (which is what put me off other bangers far more expensive in the past).

I have no reason to think that the SiC insert x Liger is a bad nail - I expect it to be excellent compared to most other stuff out there! Still, I don't see any justification for saying it is better than the SiC halo, nor even setting it apart from the halo (which I also get no trails from at 560f) aside from the form factor and smaller dish. Last I checked the larger SiC halo with slim series base was a good chunk cheaper than the Liger with SiC insert too.

Is there any specific reason you have not yet identified that makes you think the Liger x SiC insert is 'leaps and bounds better' than the SiC Halo? Please do not take this as a criticism of yourself, I am genuinely interested to know why you think this is the case. :)

Just recieved my Storm Cap today (with the 2 angled side holes) from Josh at CCA, no charge. Now mind you I never complained about the other version he sent me and it worked decent enough. Here is a person who actually cares about his customers and fixed something he felt was faulty. I wish more buisnesses followed his example of how customer service should be. As far as I am concerned I'll give Josh & CCA all my buisness and can't wait to see his next innovative designs....

(( a Lil over medicated I apologize a head of time if my line of thought confusespecially anyone))
if i may ask you the same line of questions . Because am looking at photodo not see what what you say your seeing ingredients how would the Liger belike to suckered the dab through. The insert dish has a wall that's a quarter inch tall the other is about and eighth of an inch tall but the bottom is concave so from bottom dish it's 5/16 give or take 1/32. How much liquid does around 14mm round dish that deep hold... a I've done .6 party dabs and when using the deeper cup side of the insert ((which is why there are two options for the cup size one each insert . And two things about the Liger compared to halo makes me have to assume the halo is far more likely to have liquids sucked into the vapor path. The first is the air flow intake being level or below the dab dish while the liger like all banger the air path it above the level of the liquids in the dish gravity is a a pretty strong force. The next being that insert almost entirely heated with in 5 degrees Fahrenheit ((using a calibtated extech dual thermocouple with temperature differential logger)) so dabs won't really try and run up the sides. That's even with quartz inserts... hated the quartz halos dabs always up the walls ....leaving a dark rim .... I understand that SiCs thermal properties should fix this but fixs the issue and is now available...but what if I was someone whon simply prefer the option of quartz. ....never liked the quartz dish from dnail
