That's awesome @SSVUN~YAH!

Does anyone know the best email address to contact customer service? I have emailed both customercare@ and customerservice@ aksing for a price on a custom glass dial knob, but have received no response in over 48 hours (seriously guys, I respond to my personal customers in less than 12 hours and I'm a one-man show...... wtf).

@Herb-nerd can you suggest a good email address? I'm trying to send some pictures along with my request so they can get an idea of what I want (sometimes an email chain is better than a voice conversation).

Thanks!
You are betting going through me at the moment.

There is a re-shuffle going on at customer service as one of our best employees had to leave for family reasons.

I suggest you mail me either here through pm or pm me for my private email adress.
I am around almost 24/7 and have contact with all the 7th floor staff for around 8 hours a day.

It's unacceptable for these delays to be occurring, but i will certainly help to eradicate them either my being of assistance my self or by communication the correct people and informing them of the issue.

 As @OF stated, the energy required for IR heat to vape herbs is quite substantial. Way more than what's required for a traditional Conduction or Convection vaporizer.

That's why I'm very interested in the PocketPot vaporizer. I believe it's a halogen bulb powered IR vaporizer running off a LiOn battery?
teehee.

Phaded phizix :ko:

I had to research the heat transfer taking place in vaporizers for my thesis, but i really could not muster the energy to dig out and post my references to my literature review on the thermodynamic principles of vaporization.

Plus, OF knows the score

That video of the flash vape really does exemplify the deal with IR.

If you can hold you finger a tiny amount from the heater and feel the heat, that's the IR.

take off the heater cover and hold some bud close to heater, maybe just above it to allow some convection to aid the process.
That should show that conduction is king.

All this aside - i like the flash vape's idea! - but thats just because i kinda love the minimalism of the MFLB

EDIT: also, today i am mocking up some things on CAD for a proposed alternate heater cover or wand/combo for smaller loads.
I am going to tweak a few for reduced diameter, same diameter and reduced depth etc etc.
I will also be playing with models to improve the LSV heater stand to prevent eh wobble and misalignment.

IF anyone had any ideas of sketches, id sure love to see them!
Crowdsourcing improvements!
Cheers guys!

I've had success using an EQ elbow bowl screen inside an 18mm M2M or short WPA with the regular ground glass heater cover.

Any more details, I'm intrigued. I thought it would be pretty cool to have a 14 or 10mm GG wand/HC combo. I don't see much point in the 29mm GG, though I'd still like to try one.

Radiative heat is is in the infrared spectrum, this i believe all radiative heat to be IR of Infrared Radiation.

Agreed, i was going to mock up some 14mm wands, though i suspect the reduced diameter to cause an issue relative to the depth.

I think a better solution might be the 18mm but shorter, so that a thin enough layer of bud can be loaded to remove the stirring requirement. Or maybe the same 18mm gg connection but with the lip or fitting for the basket further towards the heater.

I wonder if anyone caps their Buddha wand with an EQ screen to stop bud falling?

This is all just thoughts aloud.

As i said, if anyone wants to bang up a sketch id be more than happy to Model it and see what we have.
Ill be working on some in the next 24, maybe have something tonight if i can sort my graphics problem.

Wats up guys,

I've been noticing lately that the LSV has a lot of lackluster reviews on various sites across the internet. I found this surprising because, in my experience, FC members can be some of the most difficult to impress when it comes to vaping. I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on this? Could it be incompetent reviewers? Bias? Or maybe people trying to steer people to more expensive products? It is obvious thay FC has an extremely knowledgable base so I find it odd that a unit with such a loyal following on FC has many average reviews across the internet.

^ above is just one example of a review that is seemingly contradictory to what a lot of FC memebers think.

It's a shame that a review like that could steer someone away from the LSV. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

I think the LSV is a misunderstood vaporizer. The DBV and the SSV are much more popular vaporizers (from my view of the marketplace).

The LSV fits that niche for people who want the 7th floor vaporizer experience, but don't like whips.

I personally have no desire or need for whips, I prefer direct draw or straight connection to waterpipes. So the LSV fits the bill for me.

That reviewer seems to hate on the temperature controller on the LSV, but it's the same in every 7th floor vape, so that's really an invalid argument in my book - thousands of people have no problem with the design. It's clear this guy had 1 or maybe 2 sessions with the vaporizer, and wrote an "expert review" for his blog. Maybe if he spent a week playing with the temperature settings and the various configuration options available, he might have given it a better review.

I would take Dan C.'s reviews with a huge grain of salt. He has his #1 ranked vape as the Volcano (87%) and the EQ ranked 6th (73%), while the Sublimator scores a lowly 45% and the EVO scored a 60%,. His complaint was the EVO uses plastic and is expensive. It seams one of his main talking points for all reviews is a vaporizers "reach". Who the hell cares about reach, buy a dang extension cord.

You've touched on what I hate about just about every "professional" reviewer I've seen...

They just seem to waffle on about crap that isn't really important, and skim over anything that could actually be useful knowledge...

It feels like every reviewer I've seen rates the volcano at the top of their list...
I'm sure it would be at/near the top of the list for some people, but it just seems fishy to me...

Most reviewers don't include mods in their pieces and the mods are what make the LSV so nice and adaptable. It would be cool if there were additional mod pieces from the community that filled the void but in most cases it would be lost on many new buyers or even scare some off.

I chose that link because it was a particularly glaring example but their are many more reviews like that online. I basically have a problem with his entire score card.....60% for build quality? I believe that's a little ridiculous, what's there to gripe about with the build quality? Glass could break by accident but that has nothing to do with how the unit is built, in fact he said the glass airway was a reason for the vapor quality being so high. He then rates the look and feel at 70% which it seems to me would relate directly to build quality but I guess not lol. I guess vapor quality is more subjective so no point in arguing about that, except he said the bapor was harsh while using the unit at very high temps. The last three ratings are particularly off, IMO. Ease of use at 45%? It's not a particularly hard unit to use, I'm not sure what vape is significantly easier to use.....maybe someone could inform me. Options at 55%? This is one of the most versatile vaporizers on the market it can be custom colored, paired with custom glass, and used with a whip, water pipe, or direct draw. So I have absolutely no idea where he's getting that from. Reach at 35%? First, I don't think reach is a huge issue for most people, and besides it has a 10 foot cord......hoe much longer does he want it to be?

I guess my opinions are only half valid because I don't own an LSV, YET. I'm ordering one in August but am on a T break now. I'm basing my
comments off using a friends LSV 5-10 times. I figured you guys would be able to speak more credibly than me about it, glad to see other disagree as well.

His review is predicated on his belief that the only way to use the LSV is with the long glass transfer wand, and all of his observations are based on that primary misconception. I think Vapor Critic made the same mistake in his review. FC members think outside the box, so to speak, and have gone the extra step of mating the Life Saber with a bubbler. If you really could only use the lsv with the dry wand, it wouldnt get as much love as it does.

Dangus

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I personally find a forum like FC more reliable in general than a blog or 'pro reviewer'...more user experience, actual q&a etc etc Mainly just folks looking to get a decent experience from their devices.

Initial reviews from those blogs are helpful on new items(but also could be deceptive...:worms:), but for established devices like the LSV, there are a number of experienced users on the forum giving great reviews. This place is pretty top notch IMO...the LSV too.

Cheers

Especially as he gives the LSV only 57% and then gives the Herb Iron 92% which seems to be a bit odd when the LSV is basically the same thing but with the more user friendly features, better construction materials and temp control!

..."the glass wand is the only way you can enjoy the vapor"

THAT is a total lie, or............he has no idea what in the hell he is talking about.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"There’s something strangely…uncomfortable about the look of this unit. I won’t go into details about what that is exactly, I’ll just leave you to make what you will of it’s shape. Either way, it’s less than desirable as a shape for something you’d stick in your mouth."

The LSV looks like a dildo? If the LSV looks like a dildo, so does a bazooka.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The second thing is actually loading the unit. Since you have to load the unit upside down, it can be a bit problematic considering how long the wand is."

Load the unit upside down? WTF is he talking about? Just suck up the bud through the wand which makes it one of the easiest vapes to load.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"too high maintenance for us to really feel good about using it regularly"

What fucking maintenace is he talking about?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And lastly, in his "Options" category, he only mentions a whip. No mention at all of the WPA, which is the option that truly makes the LSV a great vaporizer.

To me...........a totally bogus review.

I realize that not everyone thinkis to use the LSV like FC memebers but....they sell a WPA. It's not like you have to modify an attatchment from another vape or make your own. They sell whips for the LSV so the glass transfer wand obviously isn't the only way to use it. In my mind this reviewer obviously didn't do his homework and wasn't familiar with the unit. He probably got too high using the LSV and that explains the review

this weekend ill be testing this method.

oZceesy.jpg

I don't know why the pic is upside down, if a mod could help me out. (modnote: fixed)

This method brings the plants very close to the HC. Theres no stirring required, (actually you can't stir without the screen flipping anyway) wobbling and directing the lsv is enough.

Looks interesting ,seems like a makeshift version of @Tweak mod. I would highly suggest trying it out. Kinda bummed I sold my LSV without really giving the LSsv mod the college try.
I think my ssv HC didn't fit well with the custom gong. Wish we loved closer tweak I'd be coming over everyday ha ha.

Thanks @stickstones super fast shipping on my LSV you rock!!! Fuck yeah I got my LSV today and it rips, at least with the wand.:rockon::science:

I got the wpa and its ok but I can already see in going to get a 18mm male to male adapter for thicker clouds out of the bong.

My only other experience with vapes have been the volcano, vape bros, and an old school globe type vape that I used a few times in high school.

Nothing compares to the rips from the LSV.

this weekend ill be testing this method.

I'm gonna have to try that.

The 18mm m2m adapter on the bong rips!!!!!! Loving the LSV!!! I have only been using the high setting so far and have no desire at all to combust:clap::clap:

I was wondering what the best way to use the LSV with concentrates is? Can you use the heating element over a dome less nail, like put your dab on the nail and heat with the element?

I think I'm in  with my LSV.
