The fix is easy but when I drop 150-250 on something, I expect not having to tweak it just for it to work. The other guy in this thread said he had to send it back a couple times, in that case I would be even more upset. And another thing is, if some people don't have access to this forum, what would they do?

They would either send a quick email out to 7th Floor or give them a call and they would immediately be told what to do to fix it.............or, they would google it.

I'd understand being upset if I had to send it back in for adjustment, but the adjustment to the length of the heating element is really no big deal at all. A 2 minute adjustment.........if that.

There are certain things that I expect to work flawlessly without any kind of adjustments needed when I purchase them, but not a hand made vaporizer made by a bunch of young stoners. With these, I cut them a bit of slack. But only a bit........ ;)

In contrast, I would throw a shit fit over what happened with the Ascents, or the first runs of the Solo.

Iwien, I followed the instructions in regards to twisting the heating element and by doing that, I did manage to prop it up a bit more (now it's pulled up to the point where it shows STD-100 and 2 horizontal dashes below that) and it does seem noticeably hotter than it was before.
I also posted some pictures below of how much the LSV heats up at several dial positions. First is around 11' O'Clock (and as you can see, it doesn't even look like it's powered), Second is 12 O'Clock which doesn't show a glow, Third is around 2 O'Clock and fourth is Full Blast. Please let me know if this is what you guys get as well at these dial positions.

Mine starts glowing 10-20 sec after I turn it on even on lowest setting, I've had to adjust the element a few times as well as some issues with the internal wires of the power cord but mine generally works fine.

Strange that yours only works when it's turned up really high, I can't see the bottom of your LSV but if you have the strain relief just unscrew it and see if your cord is snug if not push in/pull out a tiny bit if necessary, I'd also push your element in a bit more, make sure it's snug. I think if you're seeing those 2 dashes you've pulled it too far.

If that doesn't work it could be the dial or it needs to be opened up to be fixed, so you'll need to send it back.

I agree 100% Elevated, it seems ridiculous that they can continue to send out LSV's with what seems to be a very common, easily remedied problem. Does 7th Floor not do QC before the LSV's are shipped out?
I too was very unhappy with the prospect of having to "fix" a brand new device I had just purchased, not to mention the disclaimer that the CHE fix could potentially render the unit broken, in which case I would be responsible for shipping costs..
That said, since I got a fully functional LSV I haven't had a single complaint about it, hits like a beast, nice even browning, and all GonG, I love mine!

I hate to pile on but I ordered two LSV's a while back, a silver one from an ebay seller and a colored one from 7th Floor. The colored one had to go back because of multiple issues but the silver one was perfect. The components looked to be of good quality on both, final assembly on the one-offs may be spotty?

Both my problem LSV's were silver. I think it really boils down to an urgent need for more rigid QC standards to be enforced on the LSVs.
Literally everyone who buys an SSV seems to have no complaints once the learning curve is rounded in my experience, would be unfortunate if frequent continued emergence of problem LSVs in any way detracted from that, in my humble opinion at least..

I have decided I want to get a bubbler to use in conjunction with LSV with the WPA attachment. I am a little confused about these rigs and if they would be appropriate to use with my LSV. I was thinking about this Bubbler

http://aqualabtechnologies.com/scie...gy-18-mm-cricket-perc-bubbler-platinum-2.html

I know this is used for concentrates. I will never find concentrates around here I was going to purchase and the GonG adapter

http://aqualabtechnologies.com/glas...-18-mm-female-to-18-mm-female-90-adapter.html

So the LSV WPA could be attached.

Thoughts?

In my experience, you can pretty much match any glass with the LSV.

Sounds great. I have heard some of these new things can only be used for concentrates and would rather have something I can use with the LSV and maybe occasionally combust in but that would be very rarely. Some friends don't like vaping.

After receiving my LSV and using it for a while, I've made a couple easy modifications that enhance the entire experience.

a. I've added a headband around the body that my girl so graciously gave to me. This acts as a nice heat buffer between the LSV and my skin. It also tightens up the knob quite a bit, so no accidental temperature changes (although this has never happened, it was still a concern of mine). Holds the poker tool too!

b. Bought 3 stainless steel washers at the local hardware store to lift the heater cover so it sits firmly in the top ring. I had to mix and match until the combined thickness was perfect, but I found the right combination. All 3 pieces of the LSV screw together tightly, and the heater cover sits firmly in place. No more wobbling!

Hi. I've noticed something in regards to the unit heating up. Last night I left it warming up on a glass covered table and when I returned the body of the unit noticeably much hotter than i had experienced before. It wasn't so hot that it would leave blisters but definitely too hot to use. I put the unit down on my granite coffee table top and turned it off for awhile. When it was nearly cooled down completely I turned it back on full blast and left it there again for 30 minutes. When I came back it was slightly warm and useable. I think those of you who are experiencing hot units might want to experiment with what you are laying them down on. The granite table top made all the difference.

The LSV is also sensitive to voltage swings coming out of your outlet.

Unlike the dbv or ssv, the lsv isn't made to be left on unattended. However, if you could get/build a stand for it where it rests vertically with the cord side down and the element side up, it would be fine.

Yes, I have used my PN water tool (which is the same thing as the F Bomb) with my LSV. All you need is a 14mm male-19mm male ground glass adapter and a screen to fit inside it. A domed EQ screen helps a lot with keeping the material in the adapter and off your HC screen.

Yep. You'd want a male to male 18/14mm adapter with a screen in it. There's a picture of that exact setup somewhere around here...

Whoops I see that I'm too late!

edit: Go to the pinnacle pro thread and check out their water tool sale if you want to save a few bucks. There now it's a worthwhile post!

The mini is the only one that uses a 14mm input, all the others are 19mm. The mini is just that, mini. The others are about double the length, if I recall correctly.

I'd heed Grokit's advice. There is a good deal on the PN water tool right now.

Ordered the mini.. Wow 79 bucks off thats a great deal. I am going to pick up some Arizer Dome screens. Any tips on a good adapter?

Thanks for all the help guys. Really appreciate it.

I am all set. Replacement Heat covered ordered from 7th floor, Mini from vapor blunt, gong and filters from planetvape. Now the hard part... the waiting.

Interesting about the voltage. The building I live in is close to a hundred years old. I am sure I have some very variable voltages in my walls. I tested my unit three more times and every time it is very very warm on the glass and very cool on the granite. I did some further reading and I am not so sure if its the difference in materials or the difference in mass. My glass top is window glass about 1/4 inch thick and less than a foot square. My granite top is an inch thick and has a diameter of 30 inches. All of these tests were done out of the same outlet.

I've heard that marble/granite slabs are great for cooling laptop computers as well.
