Here are my first impressions with my unit:
- Had some melting occur with my glass capsule. The glass capsule also was extremely hot and taste wasn't significantly improved. I paid 20$ for a single one, when Inhalater stated we would be getting a set for the price. Not worth it
- The LED light is definitely extremely bright, but black electrical tape works to cover the black models well.
- Taste seems roughly the same as with the XP. Maybe slightly worse...
- The unit is indeed much lighter and smaller.
- The cap isn't perfectly flat on the top, meaning you cannot set the unit upright when storing the cap on the bottom.
- The new hygienic tips are smaller and cheaper than the ones given with the XP. They do not fit as well.
- The 05 seems to heat up much faster than the XP.
- Battery charge time is definitely long, but most batteries should be kept near full charge so I don't see it problematic. I always use a 3amp charger anyway, so i don't notice it.
- The USB charger still seems slightly off set (plugging it into charge requires effort to align the charger in the port.
Overall, I don't see much improvement from the XP. Seems like we got a smaller body, quicker heat up times and a cap holder in exchange for a laser pointer LED, longer charge time and cheaper hygienic tips. USB issues may still be present, glass capsules didn't contribute much and the taste is the same. Battery swapping still seems like more a hazard than a perk.
As far as XP vs 05 goes, I would say there aren't any improvements.
As far as the Inhalater vs other vapes goes, I would still rank the Inhalater at the top. It's extremely small, extracts well, and gives large hits. The stealth and ease of use is unbeatable. Other vapes that offer this level of portability, stealth and ease of use do not extract or hit nearly as well.
I'd still recommend users buy one if they enjoy a pocket vape that hits like a blunt. There are better, cheaper options if you are willing to sacrifice a little portability / stealth (top one in my mind is the solo).
